My days of delivering the pizza were wrought with a lot of traveling. One night a crew of us, about 5, piled into a Ford SUV I had at the time, and we drove first to Erie PA, a week before the new place opened, then, on no sleep drove from there down to Mountaineer. Always had a lot of fun at that place over there. At Mountaineer I got one of the biggest jackpots I ever got for playing 25 cent bets, I won 700 dollars, and for me that is a lot, I made that money last, and shared that win with all my people up here in Cleveland that week I was super generous, and I even bought some lottery up here in Cleveland and won 1,000 dollars that Sunday, this girl Monica scratched it off, and before she scratched it she asked me how much I was going to give her if it was a winner I told the usual ten percent, so I went back to my car to go back to sleep because there was no pizza deliveries at 5pm on a non Football Sunday. % minutes later Monica pops out and demands I come back into the pizza shop, she says give me 100 bucks, man she was so happy to have scratched that 1,000 dollar winner, for me, she really was my luckiest friend that I ever had. She scratched at least 10,000 in winnings for me in 2007, and I shared 12 percent with her or more, and some nights we went broke, but I made it all back the next day,or I would go down to Mountaineer, or MGM Grand Detroit and make it all back. fun times at Mountaineer, great memories.

This was my first time visiting the casino. I wasnt very impressed and would not make the hour and a half trip there again. The open rooms on the way to the smoking section made that half of the casino seem deserted and creepy. We ate at the cafe and the lady working there was not really rude, but not friendly or social at all. She almost made us feel as if we were a burden. All but one of the staff at guest services were the same, unfriendly and made us feel like we were a burden. The worst part of the visit was the fact that my friend and I are both smokers, so the small smoking Pavillion was a huge disappointment. If I am going to the casino for the day, I want to sit and enjoy myself without having to run to a smoking section that is extremely lacking in updated games. We were looking forward to this visit and were disappointed. I suggest changing things a little to make smokers feel a little more welcome. Change the layout of the place a bit to make the place not seem so deserted, and train staff on proper, friendly customer service. Ive worked as a waitress for over 25 years so I know how customer service should be to ensure your guests are happy, comfortable and feel welcomed. None of which happened at mountaineer.

The hubby and I go a lot here. It is close enough to escape the kids for a night and yet be able to get home within an hour or so if anything should occur. We have always had great service at the grand hotel. Yes it is smoke filled and I would never drag an unwilling nonsmoker there. At the same time, living in Ohio and not being able to smoke in doors it is a treat to us...The service and the food at the restraunts are good. Sometimes better than others but if you have ever worked in the business you know no matter how consistant folks tryto be sometimes you cant help the service due to being over run/over sat. As to being over priced....well I can spend more down the road from my house easily on a meal for the same type of fair. I believe if you want to go out on a trip of any kind you should expect to spend money. No getting around that fact. They just set up a new players program and I cant wait to see how it works! The Ohio casinos will definately cause them to step up their game! The race track rocks and you get a lot more up close to the horses then in most other tracks we have been too. All in all win or loose we enjoy going here everytime!
