In the past 2 months I played about 8 times on this course. Pretty simple reason: It is in excellent condition and they made nicer for the eye. But lets start from the beginning. The first round my wife and I played for only one reason: Price. Riverrun Golf Linksk had some good deals through Golfnow and they did run an October special. We booked the Golfnos special to start with. I was plesantly surprised after only a few holes and pretty much excited after I was done. The greens were in excellent condition on every hole, the fairways were good and with cutting some trees and bushes the course looked much more inviting and friendlier for all level players. The few spots which are worked on in the fairway and on one green are just regular maintenance. After seeing that we not only came back, but I also played practice rounds for the City Championship of Bradenton. Every round we played we liked it. The big tournament was held Novermber 7th and 8th and again, the course was in great condition. It is fun to putt now. The greens roll nicely , look good. Number 3, which for a long time had a green which only had one spot to actually putt on now is in great condition. Pin placements are possible anywhere. It is fun to play and my wife and I will be back regularly The practice green is great and I go there chipping and putting. So the improvement is huge. Amazing. Just a few changes and things move forward. Two thumbs up for the GM and head pro and for the staff.

not the worst course Ive ever played, but the worst staff i have ever encountered and pace of play was lethargic. staff ended up scamming us by charging us for two rounds as we prepaid online and then had to pay at the counter, when we asked for the companies number to try and fix the situation the woman working the front desk refused to give us the number even though it was in clear sight on the bulletin board behind her. pace of play was 5.5 hours which is unacceptable for a course so short, avoid playing this course and save yourself precious time and money.

Nice local public course with an interesting layout that makes up for the lack of yardage. While the course is somewhat short (par 70) it is in very nice shape lately with a big improvement in the conditions over the last year or so. From tee to green the place is in the best condition I can remember. Great place for seniors, beginners and better players as well. I am a 10 handicap, but I still enjoy this course from the back tees. The staff is very friendly and accomodating

I really liked this place and the price was right. The training facility of the Pittsburgh Pirates was adjacent to it so maybe you can get a few sightings in spring training? I was first off so three of us got around in 3.5 hours. I gave it a 4 stars because some of the greens had bare spots, but dont let that stop you. It is a full length course with plenty of water and sand.

River Run is a very well maintained golf course. The greens are in excellent shape and fairways are also in very good condition. The personnel at the course are very accommodating and always with a smile. Plus they try their best to keep the prices reasonable all year long. Its very much appreciated. I would highly recommend this course, best price for the dollar in Manatee county.

I thought the course was in good shape but the problem I had was with the golf pro/ general manager. He berated the starter ( Dale) in front of all the guests waiting to tee off. There was no need to do that and embarrass him like that. As a result of that I understand that Dale is now quitting his job there. Its to bad that the city hired a bully instead of a real golf pro.

great day for some golf with good friends. The course has its fair share of challenges and the need to hit to a landing area and course knowledge is always good to have for a course like this one but over all it was a great day and would do it again

The course has been in great shape, and you can see the pride they take in making one of the best courses in the area. Staff is friendly and great to work with. Great Job to the staff.. Hole in one on the 5th hole by Denis, who plays in our league.

This course never disappoints and is a good option for people living in south St Petersburg that are not members of a private country club. I would highly recommend it.
