I really dont know what people like about this place, unless of course all the reviews came from friends or wrote by the owner himself. He lack customer service whatsoever, even when I am the only customer I have to go find him in the back of the store he never even acknowledges customers when they walk in and I heard this from multiple people so far, lights are off in most aquariums to save energy when they should be on during core business hours. And during my last visit he was so rude to my 3 year old son for touching a rusty looking ride on car toy he had at the front of his store and took it away to the back after giving me and my 3 year old attitude, I mean what is a car toy doing in his store in the first place? and finally, he has been promising to get this one species I ordered from him for the last 3 months and still no fish, he claims to be dealing with his divorce but hes not the only one getting divorced, if you cant handle your business then close it down and dont make promises you cant keep to customers.. never again even his stuff is for free!

Been hitting up a lot of seattle area fish stores lately, especially ones that claim saltwater expertise. This shop beats all the rest, hands down. I have yet to hear a question from even well versed saltwater hobbyists that Rob hasnt had a well thought out, excellent answer to. Display tanks are amazing, fish always look great. Never seen a trace of aptasia. He gets a varied and awesome selection of sometimes pretty rare fish, and the selections are always changing so theres always something new to see each visit. Not to even mention his frag tank. No other shop in the area can even step close to the selection and care present in his coral tanks. Tons to chose from, in all price ranges. Hes willing to trade and frag as needed. And he only has about half his store set up, right now. Plans on converting the second half to a freshwater selection, which Im very excited to see the turn out on. One of the rare, true "fish guy" small-businessmen who cares as much about youre personal success as the success of his shop.

The first thing I look at when I go into a fish store is the health of the fish and how clean the tanks are. When I go into Red C, the fish always appear to be healthy and the tanks are always clean. The prices are good, although they can be beat in some places the fish from my experience have always been healthy. As far as complaints about the customer service go, it is true Rob the owner is not the most smiley guy in the world, but not all of us are. (not to dwell to far into his personal life but hes recently divorced and his wife took his kid so try giving him a little bit of a break) Hes often busy around the shop but when you approach him and ask him questions hes always happy to help. His advice has rarely steered me wrong and hes honest and upfront with you. I respect his knowledge and his business. If you have to be greeted with a artificial smile every place you go, I guess this isnt the place for you. But if you want knowledge, help, good product, this is a good place to go.

Ive checked around most saltwater stores north of Seattle and Red C by far has the best selection and best experience as far as I know. The owner is very knowledgeable and is more than willing to help give advice or make a deal with you. The tanks are amazing with different varietys of fish and corals (Especially corals). He has an amazing frag tank with different LPS and SPS corals. Its a one man job for him and its pretty impressive what he has set up. Hes still setting up freshwater tanks also. I will start shopping there once I get back into the saltwater hobby. Hope this review helped. Go there and check it out at least. You wont be disappointed.

Went in today. Owner was sitting on a stool in the pitch black. I said "no lights on today?" and he goes "I can turn them on. Just me sitting here in an empty store. I dont even know why Im still in business." Time to cut your losses and be done with it. The place is PILLED with junk everywhere. Hardly any room to walk. Disgusting. I only stopped in to kill some time. I may have bought something but everything was dead or dying. Such a shame. I wont be back. Although I doubt he makes it through 2017 as this place has been like this as long as I can remember.

Most Professional shop in the area. Good livestock, Good equipment, and Good advice. P.S. the havin fun guy who gave the 2 star review is overzealous and unrealistic. There is not an aquarium in America that does not have to deal with those kind of suppliers on one level or another. Of course aquaculture fish are ideal but ORA only produces 7 mainline species of fish and without getting livestock from the source you are out of a hobby.

Im reviewing the parking lot as used for a smoke spot, if have to say it was of good quality, not that we know what bad quality is in these parts. Very appealing as well, right behind a 711 and across the street from $3 movie threatre THE CREST also a cop shop which adds a little suspense as altho its completely hidden from view. id say this parking lot smoke spot of legit at night anytime, daytime probably sketch

Beautiful saltwater fish, all freshwater tanks were empty and/or lights off. No customer service. I wandered for a good ten minutes before approaching him with a question. I complimented his saltwater fish and he replied with the word "cool." That was the only word he said to me the entire time. I left immediately. Will not return.

The place smells like cat pee, all the lights were off and none of the stock looked healthy. The store looked like it was in the process of being torn down. We showed up a 1pm on a Saturday and despite the store hours saying they open at 11am, the owner was just strolling up. Thanks, but no thanks.

This shop is very good. Rob will answer all of your questions. He is constantly busy doing water changes, cleaning things. He has now added a freshwater side to the business. I would be there more but I have moved and it would take me over an hour to drive there.

Awesome place to go. I drove an hour to get there and it was worth it. I spent over an hour talking to the owner about marine and reef tank care and he was very helpful with every question. Prices are good and everything is healthy. CHECK IT OUT!

Very knowledgeable owner and honest to boot. The only place I go in Seattle for coral/reef stuff. Very good, sustainable minded stock; minimal wild caught creatures.
