For what it is, a gluten-free cider bar/restaurant, it does indeed do. I personally am not worried about being gluten free, but I was super excited about the idea of a "Cider Bar". I wanted to try ciders Ive never had before. I wanted to fruity, tart, berryy, or whatever other styles that I had not heard of. I was hoping to be educated about this world I knew not much of. Its for this reason, I was left with a "meh" feeling. I also made the mistake of going here on a Friday, so your experience may vary, but the bartenders didnt seem to be very knowledgable of the styles. There was an impressive amount of ciders to choose from (11?) but they were kinda pricey considering they were on tap, and in fact most of the can or bottles were cheaper. Of the four new (to me) ciders I tried, I didnt find one that made me think "Oh man, Im so glad I came here for this". As I sat at the bar, I couldnt help but notice that their booze collection was much larger than the cider and beer combined. Also, I noticed that most people were in fact ordering cocktails with said booze. To be honest, it really bummed me out. If it was a slower non-friday, and my friends reeaaally wanted Cider, I might be tempted to go back and give it another shot. But in all honesty, Id probably head to the World Of Beer down the street. Ive already and better ciders there.

I found this place online and had to check it out since it is a dedicated gluten free establishment. We were there on a Saturday and didnt make a reservation so we sat at the bar but requested when a patio table opened up if we could move there and the hostess put us on the list. When we first sat down the bartender was quick to greet us and gave us a couple of samples of cider before we made our choices which was a nice touch. After serving our drinks and water he basically didnt bother serving us. I looked over the menus for a while and after making a decision turned then to face him so he knew I was ready to order. He came by and took them away without asking if I was ready to order. A few minutes later we had to interrupt him to tell him we wanted to order. After we were finished eating he brought our bill over. So we took out our cash and turned it towards him at close to his edge of the bar. Waited about 10 minutes then had to ask for change. His mind seemed to be somewhere else. When leaving a few patio tables where open and the hostess never came. Back to us. Attention to detail on the floor staff side needs to improve. Aside from that the food was very delicious. I was impressed with the selection of food and the ciders on tap.

I took a visiting friend here last night. She is celiac, and not in the "GF is trendy these days so Im trying it out" way, but the "even cross-contamination destroys my guts and makes me hate the world" way. So we were very excited and grateful for Capitol Ciders 100% GF kitchen! My friend ordered the fish and chips. She took one bite and her entire face lit up. Literal quote: "I havent had fish and chips in 13 years! I love the world! I love you guys for taking me here! This made my day!" You cant beat that. We are likely going back for another dinner during her visit here. I ordered the pound of mussels and greatly enjoyed it as well. The mussels were huge and sweet, the broth flavorful. The GF bread was...obviously GF, but then again my picky tastebuds come with a non-picky digestive system. My boyfriend had the rigatoni and was the only one not entirely satisfied with the meal. The dish only came with a small amount of mushrooms and was lacking in flavor overall.

I dont drink, much at all (seriously). But if you saw me here you might think I was an alcoholic. I love love love capitol cider. A friend took me here once for the meads they have here and I have been coming back here every chance I get. They have a huge selection of ciders and meads and a full bar for mixed drinks. I have never had anything bad to drink here and everyone I have brought here has enjoyed themselves. It has a restaurant up top and a bar environment downstairs. There is a stage for entertainment and bar games galore down below. They have the coolest paintings for sale on the walls. They are reproductions of very classical styles painted by art students. There are a few I regret not bringing home with me! The restaurant is good though pricey. If you want cider I highly recommend Ds wicked apple cider. It does get very noisy and crowded but people that frequent here are always super friendly. I highly recommend this place forba fun evening with friends

I am all for a living wage and I know rent is high downtown and places have to set prices accordingly. But the line has to be drawn somewhere. I just paid $12.66 inclusive of taxes for a 10 oz. glass of cider which was mediocre at best. Clearly the line has been crossed. Also made worse by the fact that I was greeted at the door by a not-so-friendly manager warning me that there was NO food available between the hours of 3 and 5 pm. I understand the kitchen needs time to switch from lunch to dinner but it is my opinion that some type of food should be offered. A soup or a couple apps or snacks that are easy for the waitstaff to prepare...

This place is a nightmare. Your feet stick to the bathrooms. The wait staff is rude and unprofessional. For the second time in as many months a group of us tried to come for the jazz and cider night that is prominently advertised on the website. The first day they said they had canceled the music weeks ago however I had called that day to confirm. Then we made plans to come today. I called one month ago and was assured it was all set. Then I phoned one week in advance to be extra sure. Show up tonight : no music. She said they posted a sign in the front window last week to tell customers. Um. Yea... thats just awesome.

Wait staff absent. They take your order, but disappear and check on you about every 30 or 40 minutes. Panhandlers present to bum money or ciggs outside. Management will ask you step outside of the iron ornamental barricade that they have established outside if you go out to smoke even if you are a patron, No "NO SMOKiNG" signs posted along the wall to give the patrons a clue. NO PROTECTION FROM PREDATORS.. This establishment more interested in image than the well being of the patron. Yes, its gluten free, but the burger bun tastes like cardboard. The other offerings get a 4 star.

My mom was visiting Seattle from another country. She is 56 years old. She CLEARLY looks like a 56 years old person. They did not let her come in because she was not carrying an official ID (passport). I come to this bar almost every weekend, and some days they dont even ask me for my for IDs. It does not make sense. We came from another bar in the area. In that bar, they asked ME for an ID, but not her. We were not intoxicated, we were behaving well, we were well dressed. So what are you people trying to achieve? Is this some kind of discrimination? Please explain this to me.
