Short Verison: Auditorium are nice size, chairs are comfy (not compared to reclining chairs), and has multiple auditoriums. Food is good. Food wait time longer than expected for hot dogs. Pricing is great. Good Management. Long Verison: Just recently moved to area and wanted to find me a new movie theater close to home. The auditoriums are a good size and the chairs are comfy. I was not happy at first because the movie theater I used to visit had reclining seats and they were super comfy, but after the 3rd visit here they have grown to me and they are comfy for regular auditorium seating. AMC is in the middle of a merger with them and I hope they bring the reclining seats here because it will definitely be an upgrade. The food taste good only concern is that the hot dogs took longer than I expected for them to cook. I know they have a rewards program but I do not know how it works because I have never been offered it. Maybe there are no perks? They would have gotten a 3 star, because the movie we were watching broke. The Manager quickly came through and handed out free passes instead of waiting and upsetting the customers, so not star taken. Overall I do prefer this to the Alamo.

If you are under 21 and want to watch a fuc*ing movie be prepared to be treated like you have a baby bottle in your hand and a bib on. Unbelievable treatment, if you are over 18 you are legally an ADULT capable of watching a damn rated R movie. I couldnt even escort a minor into a movie because I wasnt 21. (BUT for some reason if I was 21 she would be totally capable of seeing the movie) I guess the law that says once you are 18 you are an adult doesnt matter at ALL. We were like screw you and went in anyway and the dumb cun* at the front WENT IN AND LOOKED FOR US, REMOVING US FROM THE THEATRE, WE PAID FOR THE DAMN MOVIE! because of this treatment I have now got tons of people to not visit this theatre anyway. Congrats on losing money and tons of customers!!! Ill go hop back in my playpen now, even though I am an adult woman, with a full time job, my own home and responsibilities yet Im too much of an INFANT to see a damn movie. (YET everywhere else in my entire life has let me go in an R rated movie, 21 IS OBSURD) dont go here!!!!

It is cool to have another state of the art cinema in the area. However, I have had two experiences where sound was a problem at this theater. One time the sound just was not loud enough. Another time I was in the Big D theater and the sound was off for a while during the previews. Went to talk to someone and another patron was already complaining (and was quite livid since you have to pay more for the Big D experience). It sure seemed to me that the security guard who was interacting with the livid patron was not reacting in a calm and ablidging way, he seemed annoyed with the patron. Note to people who work at theaters, stores, etc...be nice to your patrons, you never know whos listening. I, for one, enjoy the Alamo Drafthouse more than this theater. Not only are the workers very kind, they bring you food (that doesnt cost an arm and a leg) directly to where you are sitting!

Best day to go is Tuesday. $5 shows ALL day! $2, $3, $4 popcorn & drinks. 2 people with popcorn & drinks wont spend much more than $20, if that! NO ONE beats these prices! They also have a movie card you can use to receive discounts on food & movies. Cheaper than even matinee prices. ALL size drinks have free refills! $4 popcorn, free refills! All the overpriced reviews must be from other days. I find Alamo to be extremely overpriced, even @ matinee times. The food is overpriced! The best price is on the non-alcoholic drinks which offer free refills. Really dont like receiving the bill about 30-45 minutes before the movie ends. Usually interrupts the best part of the movie. You also have to leave a tip. 2 people with drinks, popcorn tax & tip will pay between $40-$50 on average. A lot for a movie!

Nice theatre, but when we were there on Sunday, March 23 for a 4:00 show, it was packed (and that is fine) but there was a young lady screaming out orders for patrons to follow from where to line up, to "do not hang out here after the show, move on." At one point she came in our theatre, which was sold out, and yelled for everyone to squeeze in & make room on the outside seats. All this was in a strained scream (obviously overused voice box), very unprofessional, at best. It was a over the top and a on the verge of obnoxious. Might I suggest a megaphone, or use a speaker system to communiate information to patrons. Love the movie we saw, "Gods Not Dead". That is where the stars come from. The only reason I didnt give it a five is because of the screaming lady.

My husband and I like to go to the Tuesday afternoon matinee. Usually we get right in, but today we stood in line for 20 minutes waiting to get our tickets. There was only one attendant working, and there was a line of about 5 parties. The manager was standing behind the counter but wouldnt help any customers, even though the line was backed up. The lady behind us said it was worse the week before - the line was out the door and she finally just left. Our movie time was 4:15, but we didnt get into our seats until 4:30. Why arent there more attendants, and why didnt the manager step up to help instead of just standing around filling the occasional popcorn bag? Very disappointed with the customer service. It used to be a lot better.

If you are looking for a place strictly for watching a movie with no frills, this is the place for you. Dont bother getting popcorn or a 6 dollar hotdog, they dont even have cardboard trays for you tote the 30 dollars worth of trash to your seat. Again if your focus is only to get in see a movie in the BigD (not IMAX because they are not licensed for IMAX) this is the place for you. Buy your tickets on Fandango, go directly past that facade setup of a concession/customer service area and straight to have to the theaters. I give 2 stars because the 1 adult female that takes the tickets back there is a delight. She is wonderful, and nice.

My experience taking my son to the Carmike in Winchester, VA was Bad . They let us in before they had put the theater title up so we walked around for five minutes trying to find the right theater . Next, somebody stole our seats when we went out for snacks . Finally, the last straw was the price of snacks . 5.50 for a glorified slurpee is ridiculous......and they only have one size, go figure . I will not be taking a bank loan any time soon to return to Carmike .

Clean comfortable environment, but mgt. needs to get their stuff together. Rude obnoxious crowd using backs of chairs as foot stools in the big D preventing partons from sitting in front of them. Also, open a food line only cash register! I tred to buy food in the alcohol line and was told no to stand in the ticket line. Sticking with the Alamo bc you can reserve seats and better customer service.
