Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago for a girlfriends 40th birthday party. She rented out the room up top and it was a great way to be able to converse, have a few drinks, and enjoy the company, as well as the Bon Jovi tribute band. The attentiveness of the dedicated waitress was great! Appetizers werent bad. Only one complaint - holy jesus did someone have a HEAVY pour! Normally, thats a good thing, right? Not so much . . . We all had made plans for Uber or such, so we were prepared to drink to our hearts content! (Gah did I need a ladies night out!) My awesome hubs had made a trip to McDonalds about an hour prior to heading out to specifically get me a large fry. This would prevent me from hogging the appetizers that were provided and all the grease would prevent me from getting sick from too much alcohol (old trick from my college days). Now, admittedly, my liver is out of shape. Im over 40 with a husband and a kid. Im not near the drinker I was 10 or 20 years ago. Normally, when having any type of vodka drink, I down the first rather quickly, and order a second to milk for a while. I wait the standard 2 hours and then have zero issue driving. Here, I ordered 2 martinis across the course of 3+ hours, and I was SMASHED! I mean the nearlye cant walk, strip the clothes off throughout the house on the way to the bathroom type trashed. I praised the porcelain goddess ALL night long - as in I slept on the bathroom floor. AFTER TWO SOUR APPLE MARTINIS! TWO! (Yes, I swear it. 2!) This was like reliving my early 20s when I could drink all I wanted, and didnt care if I got alcohol poisoning type of a drunk. Nobody wants THAT. So my suggestion is if you get a drink at this place and it seems strong, know that IT IS. Ask them to add some more mix too it. Otherwise, make plans on how youre going to explain to your kid the next morning why mommy cant take you to your BFFs birthday party and daddy will have to.

It is an interesting venue in that it is a mix of tables and standing area. They could definitely fit more people in if it wasnt for the tables. But it is small enough to have a good view from anywhere (except the tables since people are standing in front of you). Seems to be *the* place to go if you like tribute bands. Parking is free on the Friday nights and the weekends in a garage across the street. Also, staff at the venue are quite pleasant and do a great job helping out and keeping aisles clear.

Look at the line-up, nuff said. They dont have a re-entry policy if you want to step outside. They treat their patrons like prison inmates. After the show, is when Falls Church PD begins enforcement. Enjoy the show and the general hassle of a police state, if your into that. I wish my tax dollars didnt fund the FUN police. My dollars will be spent in DC(930) or The Filmore in silver spring. This venue is finished!

I dont have much to add to others comments except to say that there is a genuine nostalgic value in visiting a place like this, and a genuine entertainment value in the personal nature of the space. Ive dragged my kids there so that they get a sense of how small-town venues all over served their populations and provided a certain formal intimacy.

Mason, Zach and Jarrell are the most amazing production team ever!! These guys do so much with this venue! Acoustics arent the best but they do an amazing job! Worth coming to the State just to hear their magic!

Extraordinary, eclectic array of musical groups and tribute bands pass through regularly complemented by a steady stream of regular acts. State Theater is the hidden gem of Falls Church.

The management here is pathetic. We approached the manager about a problem and was told to leave him alone because he already had our money. I will never go back, ever

Good place to see a show. Not to big that you cant see from almost anywhere. Food is just OK. But the table is worth it when your too old to want to stand all night.

Saw the Weepies here, my favorite concert venue. Room for people to sit and enjoy and the ability to walk right up to the stage and really enjoy the music. Awesome.

This place is always fun, just very difficult to get a drink. You spend a lot of time in line waiting - they just need to add another bartender or two.

First time here and I saw an 80s cover band. Fun venue with easy access to the stage and a good setup with bars upstairs and downstairs on both sides
