This is a great vineyard with wonderful views of the mountains and ranges. They had a live band outside playing some great blues and rock music - adding to the social vibe. The inside tasting room is very big and roomy. When the weather turned south during our visit, it easily held 100+ people and the band! The winery is still a young winery (1.5 years old) and some of their grapes are coming in from outside of Virginia. The red and white wines are all tasty and what you would expect from a Virgina winery. There are 3 tastings: 1) White only - $10; 2) Rose/Red Combo - $14; 3) White, Rose, Red - $20. My wife and I did 1 white and 1 red and shared our drinks - definitely the budget way to go. Price per bottle is a bit on the high side when compared to other Virginia Wineries: Whites ranged from $25 to $35 and Reds were $36 to $48. Not sure the price is worth it - especially since they are still using California grapes. I would make the trek back out to this winery/vineyard again - but only when going with a group of friends.

As someone who has visited over 100 Virginia wineries, Im glad to say this is a GREAT winery in the NoVa area! We visited with a group of 8, and were pleased with the tasting menu, albeit pricey. We all enjoyed the wines AND the scene, but were Very disappointed that we arrived for a 4pm tasting only to find that there was a wedding so we had to leave by 5. They sold us bottles and let us sit out on the patio for an hour after closing, but it was disappointing knowing that we had checked their website for hours prior to our visit which said they would be open until 7, and then we were rushed out hours earlier. The most notable fact about their wines is that They started growing their own grapes something like 17 years ago, and started producing their own estate wines in 2015, the year they opened this venue.

Went to Barrel Oak and Blue Valley while driving through the area. Ended up being significantly more impressed with Blue Valleys wine. It had an interesting combo of wines that were extremely well done and its staples were also very good (but dont get us wrong, Barrel Oak had a wider variety). The wine representative was also extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot we didnt already know. Combined with the view in the back we will definitely be back here next time we drive through Delaplane!

Very beautiful views, but very poor customer service. I went there on a Saturday which is a very popular day for Virginia wineries. They only had one tasting bar open with a bus full of people tasting, Therefore I had little room to even grab my wine glass. The woman giving me my tasting was so overwhelmed with there only being one tasting bar open, I did not feel like she gave me thorough info on the wines she was serving. Most of all, I wish they had more local grapes in their wine.

Blue Valley has some of the most beautiful views and setting of any Virginia winery. Although, the size and grandiose nature of the tasting room lacks a sense of traditional Virginia winery comfort and the grapes are currently sourced from the west coast until the estate vines mature. The cost of tastings, glasses, and bottles makes the wine unattainable for some and the typical industry tasting discounts are not fully honored. With time this vineyard/winery has a lot of potential.

Love this place! Went once with a group of my girlfriends during the winter and loved it so decided to come back and bring a large group of 30 and we had a blast! The live music and very friendly staff made our visit wonderful :) Will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the deck and the views

Beautiful views and a modestly priced deal on wine tasting. Great place to go on a romantic date or to have a couple (or more) glasses of wine with friends and enjoy the landscape away from the hustle and bustle of the DC Metro area. Did I mention the wine is good, too?

Found this great winery in Fauquier and will be back. Wine was good, views were excellent and there were many cozy spots for conversations. Also multiple fireplaces for a chilly afternoon. Great spot but be on the lookout for wandering goats and sheep :-)

Great winery to visit. Wines were good. Whites were mostly dry and crisp. Reds were mostly smooth, fruit forward blends. Winery is beautiful with nice views. Will be back to more fully enjoy the deck and fire pits.
