After some a lack of success with some other wineries that were closed, we ended up here. A bit out of the way but a generally good find. The tasting room is in what used to be a B&B. The tasting was informative with a nice flow through about 8 wines (give or take). The wines were decent. My favorites were the Syrah and the Virginia Red Table Wine. Apparently the table wine distinction gives the wine makers flexibility in the percentage of alcohol (+ or - 2% from the label) and to not list the blend of grapes that are used. As it was lovely weather, we had some glasses of wine on the patio. They also sell meat or cheese with toasted bread and some olive oil and balsamic. Its not fancy, but it complemented the wine as a nice snack. A local musician was hanging out on the deck and playing some music on his guitar. It became a gathering of 8+ local people hanging out on the deck on a generally quiet country road. One aspect of the experience that may be a little concerning for some relates to the area where the winery is located. This is in a rural area of Virginia. There is a local shooting range nearby (which I think we heard occasionally). One of the guests brought his/her target from the range to the winery deck to show others. Also, there was some conservative political discussions that could be upsetting to some guests. These aspects detracted from the wine experience.

I love this small, farm winery. It is tucked back in the rural area of Sumerduck. It is quiet and relaxing, not at all the bustling frenzy of a Barboursville or Prince Michel but with wines just as good if not better. Here you can hear the birds and just relax. No loud and obnoxious wine connoisseur wannabes either - no one is going to break a glass out here and then cheer about it: no pretentiousness allowed! Good people, good wine and complete relaxation.

Beautiful small winery with excellent choices of wine and amazing goat cheese. Very friendly staff and interesting history of the building, staff had a couple stories to tell. Good price for wine tasting and the glass you get is a good collection to take home.

Amazing wines, great people, lovely and cozy bar for wine tasting!!! Visit this winery if you want a great wine experience your palate and taste buds will not forget. We have a great time every time we go. Try their goat cheeses from a local farm!

John Z is a wonderful host! Lots of stories and very informative! With the exception of the Cab Sav, they specialize in sweeter wines. All good wines, just too sweet for me. Worth the trip, however!

Quaint, rustic and genuine. Tasty wine but it was the experience and hospitality that wins my high praise! Warning: gravel driveway hard on small cars and dusty, but part of the experience.
