Everything You Want To Know!!! We were there last Friday to Celebrate a Special Occasion. All parking is by Valet, so remember to tip! It was great to have or vehicles waiting & ready for us, since the Valet remembered us! Great Valet! We made reservations earlier in the day, so we were seated quickly.Great! It looked like most of the customers, uncluding us, were dressed very nicely, jeans are out! However, they were very crowded and noisey and there was little room between the tables, seating was tight. The decor was very nice. We were served by an older woman, due to her accent she was very difficult to understand. Her service left a lot to be desired, since she nearly spilled hot soup on our guest and proceeded to throw all of our food across the table as it spilled over the edge of the bowls and plates, she never wiped the spills, so I did! The bus boy would snap grab our plates, as he quickly ran by our table, good thing we didnt have our hand on our plate! Our service was very poor to say the least! The food was good, a bit pricey, but not good enough for us to return. Makes me wonder why all the people? They must like crowds, lots of noise and their decor? We Place Value on Great Food, Great Service and Cleaniness. Never Again!

My wife and I, John Jasso, Lauren Bowne, have been coming to Mon Jin Lau for over ten years. We spend every Christmas Eve here and every other Friday night. where we sit at the bar. We love the food and the wonderful atmosphere, but what we love most is the bartender, Nikki. She is nice and friendly and we look forward to tipping. We recommend this place to all our friends and will continue to come. Thank so much! And to all remember, when we go out for a dining experience, if it seems to take a little longer, ask yourself this, am I enjoying the company I am with, the drinks Im drinking and the food I know Im going to eat? If you answer yes, then remember, everyone has a bad day, whether its front or back of the house and grant them this because we all have a bad day now and then.

They took my dates and my order, I ordered sushi, my date ordered a chicken and rice dish.Their house salad was basically inedible to me. The sushi came up almost instantly so clearly we were no going to be eating together which was weird... They got my first roll wrong, I ordered the dragon roll and I was given the rainbow roll. My dates dish ended up being forgotten about and when asked about his meal the bartender went to the back and got it finally and I literally got a first degree burn from touching the plate it was so damn hot. I disliked having to valet my car because I was waiting in a line to leave the restaurant. It took effort to get new drinks and order our food. Not for someone who wants good service. Would only recommend for I guess the club/bar scene.

What a joke. I just got a job in Troy recently. And I wanted to try out some of the Asian eateries around the area for lunch. Came here on my lunch break, and ordered the Mandarin Chicken lunch special. The amount of food you get for $10.95 is ridiculous. Its a poor excuse for a lunch special. I could have paid that same amount at just about any other Chinese/Asian eatery, and gotten 3x the amount of food. On top of that the food wasnt even that good. The egg roll was the only thing that was decent. The fried rice tasted like cardboard, and the chicken tasted like it came from a frozen Lean Cuisine meal. Lastly, it was near impossible to find a parking spot in the cramped parking lot. I dont recommend coming here unless you want to overpay for mediocre food.

This place is good for quality pan Asian food, priced more or less like PF Chang. The decor is not so beautiful but definitely nice. We went to celebrate an occasion with two kids. The restaurant is NOT good for kids and mostly has younger and middle aged professional crowd even on weekends. The atmosphere is EXTREMELY loud! So much that its overwhelming and hurt ears at times. The drinks are good and well served . The waiting staff is too busy to listen to you so be clear and specific about ordering. On a typical Saturday the restaurant is Full, ..reservations are must otherwise waiting time is big. I gave it 3 star not for food which is of course good but its atmosphere which is too loud.

I went to have a nice dinner with my best friend last night and we seat at the bar. Food was great but the service was ok. The server from the bar wasnt very good and friendly to us. I asked for a ginger beer. She opened a can of ginger beer, pour into my glass and she kelp the rest of ginger beer in the cooler so I thought thats my rest of the ginger beer and I will ask for more later but I was wrong. She said they charger by glass because a can of ginger beer are very very expensive. I was not very happy the way she talked to me. She didnt have a good customer services at all. I will not set the bar if I plan to go back to this place.

We were in town for the weekend and Mon Jin Lau was recommended to us by the hotel. The parking lot was full but they had complimentary valet service so we went that route which was actually quite nice. Surprisingly we didnt have to wait at all for a table. The hostess told us 5 minutes and before we were even able to turn around and go to the waiting room we were being called to be seated. The food was good, average Chinese cuisine, however we were charged for white rice. Not a big deal but prepared to be nickle and dimed for things that are normally free with your meal at other restaurants.

More like Mon Jin Lame! The service felt off/whacked out the whole time. I was with 3 other people. The food came for the other 3 and no one even told me my was "on its way" or a similar sentiment. 10-15 minutes later I asked about my meal. I got a mumbled "yes" when I finally asked about the food. Another 5-10 it finally came with no explanation as to what took so long or an apology. I dont think it wouldve ever came if I didnt say something. That is not good customer service. Anyway the food was decent, but Ive had better at other more moderately priced restaurants. Not impressed.

This is one of the WORST restaurants I have been to in the area. Food was overpriced and extremely bland. Service was clueless and non-communicative. Dont make the mistake of dining here on a Wednesday night (or ever, for that matter). Wednesday is club night, and along with your bad dinner, you get your eardrums blown out by crappy house music (their website AUTOPLAYS it), and you get to be eyeballed by age 50+ clubbin creepers. Also, theres some annoying guy walking around playing a drum and blowing a whistle. WTF. Absolutely style over substance here.

Walked out! Was told by host I could have a table for 1 hour but had to be up and out by 8 sharp for the next reservation, then he actually said he was doing me a favor by giving me the table! Believe me. The place isnt that special. I prefer to spend my money where its appreciated. Just got back from LA and So Cal area where we ate at numerous 4/5 star restaurants and we were treated so nice everywhere we went. Amazing service and food from people actually happy to see you and serve you. Not treat you like a #.
