I saw Aesop Rock here tonight. I was thinking of seeing Dragonette here in a few days but Im going to pass. The sound was really bad. The musicians had to repeatedly ask to turn up their monitors and turn down the bass. It sounded like this place cheaped out and only bought subwoofers. Honestly I dont think it was even the sound guys fault. Its a long concrete box thats just plain boomy. The layout left a lot to be desired. In the dead middle of the room is the bar. When the room is full like tonight, if you are further back than the bar, you have a horde of people in front of you talking and placing orders and lining up between you and the artist. Three giant chandeliers hang above the bar, and stay at full brightness during the show. So when youre trying to look up at the stage in a dark room you have to squint past the bright chandeliers. Lastly, I know it isnt necessarily the venues fault, but there is a homeless camp located a few hundred feet away, and as I was walking up I had to pass several police cars breaking up some sort of incident. I did not feel safe walking to or from the venue. The only two stars Im giving for this review are for nice technology that let me just scan my phone at the door and it acted as my ticket, and friendly staff.

My husband is a guitar player in the band, Principium, so Ive been to this place a few times now. Its definitely more of the whole in the wall, dive-bar type place -- things arent exceptionally fancy. But its a great venue for local music and smaller bands that tour through the area. Its kept relatively clean, too. Even the bathrooms (which is usually the tell all of how well the place is upkept) isnt too terrible. I do love the fact that there are giant chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. The outside it kinda unassuming, so that was a huge shock when I first saw them. The location isnt in the best place of downtown, but Ive never had any problems and patrol cars usually drive through the area, so I feel relatively safe. One of the bartenders makes an incredible drink called the Aphrodite. If youre a fan of things on the sweeter side without tasting like candy, I would definitely suggest. Itll set you back about $9, but its definitely worth it.

When venue owners lie it makes me laugh. The Metro downtown in Salt Lake is such a joke. First they tell me they dont do Burlesque or Variety shows. Lmfao. Really? Ive done them there with my Troupe in the past. Plus ive been contracted to do solo shows there. These performances are on video btw. Other troupes currently are doing shows there. Idiots dont think I have the events on my news feed. Stupid people. Lying in buisness is bad Ummkay.

I saw Eve 6 here!! Talk about a cool place for a drink and a concert! And by cool, I MEAN HOT!!!. I dont think that there is much in the way of A/C here, so make sure to stay hydrated. Even Max Collins mentioned how this had been the hottest stop on their tour. Sweat was EVERYWHERE. But I still liked it, and there was a place to go outside to cool off.

This place had great potential. The front desk guys were very nice however, one of the bartenders for the rjd2 show was charging extra and ripping off customers he believed were to "intoxicated" to notice. This bartender was wearing a white hoodie. I wont be back, what a sneaky and malicious thing to do.

I went to see a friend play. $10 cover when 6 people are in the club. Ugh. Cant order drinks cause bartender cant hear over the band. No other patrons at 11:50 pm dead on a Friday in downtowns worse area .hated it and left after 1/2 of a poorly made Tom Collins and 18 miniutes in this dump

First time here, it was a way better place than I was expecting. Went to see RJD2. The crowd was great, the bar had a good selection of beers and cocktails. Décor was minimally classy if thats a thing. It was a cool space, I hope this place will continue to bring music that I want to see.

Metro is a new music venue where Ive seen two concerts, IAMX and Dragonette. Sounds was great for IAMX, but vocals were not loud enough on Dragonette. Full bar right by the concert floor. The whole place is undergoing a remodel and Im eager to see how it turns out.

Tunes almost every night of the week, drinks are priced fairly, peeps who work there are nice. Food trucks are there pretty regularly so you can grab a bite without leaving. Metro is one of the last small clubs in town, go there, give them your money.

Since moving to their new location Salt Lake Citys best gay bar has really stepped up their game with great music, performances and a wild dance floor. Even as a straight male this is one of my favorite weekend hotspots.

This venue has terrible sound quality. It also took an hour and a half of waiting outside to finally get in. Not to mention, since its so crowded, its hard to get a drink period.

Went for a metal show. The sound quality was among the worst i have ever experienced in my life. It was also so loud that it was nearly impossible to order a drink

This venue is nice and quaint. It has a gradual slant from the stage to th back so you dont feel like you cant see the stage. They also offer water which is nice

I love the artists that come here, but the place is quite small with not a ton of area in the front. There is not much security either so it got pretty rowdy.

They charged an extra $10 for nothing at the bar. i tipped the bartenders good and now I see a $10... for what? I think this is unfair!

Jeff and Jordan make the world go round here, its a place for the open minded and people that want to take a walk on the wild side!

Hit or miss. Sometimes the music is great; other times it seems like theyre giving someones "artistic" nephew a chance.

I saw better bars in the ghetto of Mexico. ...and the sound setup is so awful. You cant understand anything.
