We had our wedding there. the grounds are pretty, the bulding was very nice as well. But the staff was not very ontop of things during our event. an item on the menu was not set out for our guests and the next day we asked to be given back money for the item paid for and not used, we were offered the 100 truffles..WHAT WERE WE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH 100 TRUFFLES THAT WERE NOT SERVED TO OUR GUESTS THE DAY BEFORE!! we had to FIGHT FOR OUR MONEY BACK and it was only a small $25.00 when you know that we should have gotten more than that because im sure they charged us more for that item than $25.00. We were told if they gave us any money it would only be $25.00 so what is the big deal? But if it the $25.00 wasnt a big deal why were THEY FIGHTING TO GIVE IT TO US! We asked the cordinator and the staff if they could please help us put the flowers we had broughten with us in vases in no special arrangment or order just to toss them in vases and set them around the venue. we were told they would and THEY DIDNT EVEN TO DO THAT THEY ONLY USED FLOWERS TO FORM A CENTERPIECES WE DIDNT WANT AND THEY USED HARDLY ANY FLOWERS WE HAD SPENT OUR MONEY ON AND BROUGHT IN FOR OUR EVENT! at the end of the night there were two boxes of UNUSED flowers sitting in the back room. And there were times WE NEEDED THE CORDINATOR AND SHE WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! THEN they call us the day after our wedding and tell us that they are GOING TO CHARGE US MONEY BECAUSE we had left tissue balls on the cieling after our event and now they have to hire someone to come and take them down. (even though they have a latter on site and could easily do that themselves.) unless we come and take them down right then. BUT the only reason we left them up was because the cordinator told us we didnt have to take them down and that the staff would do it, unless of course we wanted to keep them. So we had to play the run around with that because we were told we didnt have to take them down. THEN WHEN THE TRUFFLE THING HAPPENED SHE TRIED TO TELL US WE SHOULDNT NEED THE MONEY BECAUSE WE WERE HAPPY WITH THE BUILDING AND WE LEFT THE TISSUE BALLS UP! ALSO they TOOK OUR WEDDING CAKEin the back and when the grooms mother asked for it to be wrapped up so everyone could take it home, they GAVE US 1/4 of what was LEFT OF OUR WEDDING CAKE THAT WE BAKED! and they KEPT THE REST WITH OUT ASKING! THEY RUINED OUR CENTERPIECES!! we were going to have floating rose heads in clear vases with water in them and when i told the cordinator (who was not our origional cordinator, our origional one was out of town that day for a family thing.) that we just needed the heads cut off and a single head in each vase. she told me they wouldnt float! with out even trying it. so i showed her one would float but she said they woudldnt float and instead she took a rose and stuck the entire rose in the water in each vase and that is not what we wanted, talked about or asked for! THEY PRETTY MUCH LET US STRESS ABOUT EVERYTHING AND TOOK CARE OF HARDLY ANYTHING! LIKE I SAID NICE GROUNDS NICE BUILDING BUT NOT ON TOP OF THINGS! IM GLAD SOME OF YOU HAD GOOD THINGS TO SAY BUT THE STAFF WAS RIDICULOUS! AND I WOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE TO SPEND MONEY ON THEIR EVENT AT THE WOODS! THEY WERE GREAT UNTIL OUR BIG DAY!

Where to even begin with this place. First off, DO NOT listen to the good comments, they only represent a tiny percentage of what actually happens at this business, and who wants to gamble their wedding day at a place with so many negative reviews anyways. My best friend picked this place and they were ridiculous from the get go. They booked OVER her planned wedding day with another wedding, forcing her to change her day completely. Did they care or make any efforts to remedy the situation? No. Then they booked over her scheduled rehearsal night with another wedding 5 days before and said that the rehearsal is a "contractual freebie" so again, no apologies and no attempts to help, especially because they had already been paid. They were extremely difficult and caused way too many conflicts. Everyone that was a part of the wedding had to change their schedules around multiple times. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away. Theres already too much stress in planning a wedding, you definitely DO NOT want to deal with these people.

Too bad you have to put at least one star when commenting, because The Woods is the worst place to have a wedding reception! Dont read these fake comments about how wonderful it is. The service was horrible, they ran out of food for the guests (which the food was absolutely horrendous anyhow), and they did nothing to correct their mistake. They lied about their service and cheated the hosts of the wedding out of their money. If you have any sense in you, please dont use The Woods as your reception place. Your wedding is supposed to be memorable...in a good way. Youll regret it for the rest of your life if you have your reception at The Woods.

We use the Woods on 9th on a regular basis for worship services for our new Greek Orhtodox Greek Orthodox Mission Parish of Utah The reception center is very beautiful, clean and inviting. The garden and patio area is delightful, surrounded by large trees, paved grounds, refreshing water features. The kitchen is well equipped. The staff is courteous, accommodating and responsive. I would highly recommend this venue for the celebration of a wedding, baptism, or other life event!

LOVED IT!! I just had my wedding at the Woods on Ninth and it was wonderful! The service was great! They allowed a lot of flexablility that you cant find at other venues. The building and gardens are gorgeous and I was able to add my personal touches. I had a great experience with the staff, I thought they were very helpful. We had a garden ceremony and it went flawless. I had a great experience and I would recommend this venue to anyone!

What an AMAZING! Facility only great things I have to say about our beautiful wedding day at the Woods The staff was amazing! made our experiance so wonderful they were always so happy and wonderful to work with. They made our day Perfect the grounds of the faciltiy were so beautiful I could not have picked a better venue for our day! I would recommend The woods to everyone I know! We had a great experience at the Woods. There were two staff members at our disposal the whole evening. They moved tables and carried boxes, so helpful! When we wanted tables taken down for dancing they were accommodating. I do wish we had been allotted more time to decorate, We could have bought more time but did not want to spend more money. Good thing we had lots of help. Overall a wonderful experience.

They completely RUINED the wedding I went to! Avoid this place at all costs. Service for the wedding ceremony was non-existent and the staff grossly underestimated the food for dinner and more than half of the guests didnt get a thing. It was a nightmare and they did nothing to refund or rectify the situation. TERRIBLE!
