Over the years I have patronized CINEMARK theaters many times and it not only saddens me but concerns me deeply that your management has bought in to the paranoia gripping our nation today over "GUN CONTROL". As the very term "GUN CONTROL" is itself a misnomer so the very poor management decision to place signs on the entrance doors of your theaters, "NO WEAPONS ALLOWED" is tantamount to putting screen doors on submarines. When a law abiding citizen and retired law enforcement officer who "OPEN CARRIES" a firearm is confronted by unarmed security personnel it is because they were able to clearly see the 9 mm GLOCK secured to my right hip. When questioning you about your decision to place such signs your response was, paraphrasing, "Seeing a firearm scares the patrons". From the "for what its worth department", I have not conceal carried a weapon once since first entering law enforcement in 1972. Out of uniform and "OPEN CARRYING" a 9 mm GLOCK well secured in place along with its attending support gear has never once drawn a comment of concern from anyone - in fact - quite the opposite. The criminals who entered the theater in Aurora, Colorado were not stopped by signs. The murderers at Sandy Hook Elementary and all the other places no one can forget were not dissuaded by rules and policies and certainly not by signs that only the law abiding citizen will respect. To the management of the all CINEMARK theaters I suggest you replace the signs that will stop the lawful citizen with one that more accurately states the true meaning of "NO WEAPONS ALLOWED"; "Attention criminals who would murder innocent patrons of this business! You may proceed with your murderous intentions with no fear of being confronted by an armed citizen - we do not allow them to bring firearms in here"! You are welcome to view on several websites video of your signs, your business name and locations along with informed commentary about the choice you, and other business establishments have made to welcome the murderers and forbid those like me who would put their lives between the murderers and the innocent. A little aside that I do not wish to become more prophetic than speculative; Aurora, Sandy Hook, Columbine, Tucson, will happen again and much worse accredited in part to the fact that a lack of education on the part of the innocent civilians about the thousands of honest citizens who have been subjected to intense scrutiny by the issuing state for the license they carry who are a line of defense - not a criminal conspiracy, and perhaps worse yet, ignorance on the part of business owners who buy into the paranoia sweeping our nation. You might be surprised how many of us there are who will no longer patronize your business as well as how many of the innocent civilians who do not carry a firearm yet do not see through a glass darkly and will join the boycott. Now it is a line drawn in the sand because this is what happens when fear and ignorance overrun knowledge and genuine concern for fellow human beings. I would so much rather it be a line of eager patrons approaching your ticket window.

Among the newer theaters in the Salt Lake area, their equipment is modern, particularly in the XD auditorium. While many theaters are stuck with 2k projectors, they have several auditoriums with 4k projectors. They also recently upgraded to luxury recliner seats, which is nice, and have reserved seating. The sound systems are likewise modern, with the XD auditoriums featuring Auro 3D 11.1 sound and bass shakers. 3D movies are better than Imax since they use the RealD 3D specification which uses circular polarization instead of linear polarization (so you can tilt and move your head without losing the effect). Their concessions offerings are fairly standard, all the normal stuff is available, nothing to write home about, but adequate. Tuesday is a great day to go, they have discounted tickets.

Wow! I definitely used to be a Megaplex man. When I received a free ticket to a Cinemark theater as a gift, I scoffed at the idea of going to a theater that wasnt a part of the mighty Megaplex chain. Boy was I wrong. The seats at this Cinemark are fantastic. Its like sitting in a big leather recliner at your grandparents house. Not only this, but there are big partitions between each row of seats. That means kids wont push their grubby feet up against the back of your seat through the whole movie. It almost makes it feel like you are in the theater by yourself, because as you watch the movie you dont really see anyone else in front of you. I like that. Going to a movie without all that unneeded social interaction. I only see movies here now. Screw Megaplex.

Lovely theater, pretty clean with no greasy spots on the seats. The dude in ran into was a little slow and stared at me like a dear in the headlights. There was only a little blood I promise! I had to run in rather urgently while my boyfriend parked due to a vicious bloody nose. I ran up to the nearest staff member and asked him for napkins, and all I got was a blank state. Luckily, there was a mother nearby (Im assuming) who was smart and led me to the napkins. While The Mom and I were walking away from the employee he finally responded with a "Do you need first aid"

I went there tonight June 29, 2016 and had both the best experience and the worst experience. It was very bad because the people next to me and my girlfirend were on there phone with the brightness turned all the way up and would not stop socializing. It made it so I couldnt even focus on the movie I just paid money to enjoy. It was really good on the other hand because the staff was more than willing to accommodate me and make things right even though it was not their fault. I really appreciate the service I got tonight, keep up the good work.

Had to change my rating. Three drunk teens joined our movie, kept talking, moving seats, leaving. One decided to sit next to us and then threw up everywhere. Tracked down a manager who tried to play it off like they were just sick, except they reeked of alcohol and couldnt walk straight, who asked us if we were going to go back to the show after all this. Basically had to twist their arms to get compensation. Pretty sure they let the drunks back into the movie too.

All their seats are LEATHER!!! And they actually recline. I love this theater because of these 2 facts. I feel so comfortable and that allows me to enjoy the movie even more. That being said, their food prices are high (just like every other theater) so I just walk next door to in-n-out and get my feel before the movie. They also dont have an IMAX but if you want to go to the IMAX just up the road is the Megaplex and they have a great IMAX, but no leather seats.

Love it here. It is always kept clean, the staff is very nice. Popcorn is fantastic. And lets talk about that XD 3D. Went a few days ago to Star Wars: The Force Awakens on my first date, and was completely blown away. The seats were big, and they were leathered. The sound quality was fantastic. The 3D was also fantastic especially on that huge screen. Cinemark, just keep doing what you are doing and you are sure I will be there again
