I cannot believe that your theater now has designated sitting even when there are empty seats, I had been to the Alamo Drafthouse in NB a couple of times before last night but I never had a problem like this. Exactly how far is your head up your ass? I will never again pay money to go back to your theatre. As we entered the theater room, 10 minutes before the movie started there was no one around to ask questions about food or sitting (I didnt know anything about the new sitting arrangement as we bought our tickets online), so we sat in the middle where we thought it was okay. But after the movie was about to start a group of people came in, the lights were off already and they started to stare at my date and I and whispered to the usher. The usher than came to us and asked for our tickets, we showed her and apparently we were not supposed to sit there so we were shuffled around in the dark into very poor seats and after we sat down the usher apologized and said she had made a mistake and those were the wrong seats so we had to move once again, while they were showing in the background with big bold words "no one will be admitted into a theater once the movie has begun. If you’re running late, you can get your money back or a ticket to another Showtime but everyone must arrive on time". Of course they didnt follow the rule at this Cinema in New Braunfels. I have never been to a movie to where I would have to seat in a "assigned seat." After paying the overpriced fees you charge to watch movies plus the overpriced Menu I didnt think assign seating was necessary. But I am sure that a few dissatisfied customers make no difference to you as it never does to the people who are in charge. PS It always smells like vomit in the hallway

The good news is that Drafthouse remodeled an old theater in New Braunfels and got rid of the bats. The movie choices are pretty mainstream; it would nice if they got into independent films a little more and not just independents they are financially backing. Right now Santikos Bijou (also in-theater dining) in San Antonio has a lock on those films short of traveling to Austin or avoiding the theater by using Netflix. Small but irritating items at this location: The "Exit" signs in the theaters are very bright and are directly facing the audience with two per side. A waitress suggested she could get them turned down but apparently could not. At newly built Drafthouses the "Exit" signs are dim and largely perpendicular to the audience. Second: While the audience is cautioned to avoid distracting each other, the waiters do an excellent job of talking and standing in the way during the show. Probably this is a training issue but its happened a few times at this location. Finally, the surround balance is bad if you are sitting at the back. In addition it appears the projection is not monitored requiring an audience member to find help. Unfortunately this problem is getting chronic at many theaters and may contribute to a slow down in attendance for the industry over time (to say nothing of Hollywoods insane reliance on sequels which Drafthouse gladly shows instead of good independents). Overall a reasonable choice in New Braunfels since there is only one other multiplex at Creekside. Achieving the potential of Alamo Drafthouses? Not right now.

I have been to the Alamo drafthouse in austin several times and a few times in San antonio. I went to the new braunfels location today for about the 4th time and the usually good service was severely lacking today. it was freezing in the theater as it usually is so I was sitting on my foot with my other foot on top of my leg under me. the server came by and barked at me to get my foot off the seat. in the first place it wasnt on the seat which he could not tell in the dark, secondly it was not necessary to be a snide douche to a customer for such a rediculous infraction even if I did have my foot on the seat. he was an ass, plain and simple. and with the state of movie theaters loosing business and closing all over the place you would think you would want to treat your customers with as much respect as possible to keep them. when he brought our food out he literally dropped it on the table in front of us and walked away. I dont need a snotty, "I am cooler than everyone in this room" attitude from anyone when I am paying ridiculous money for a so-so burger and an over priced matinee. the girls at the front counter also had a horrible attitude. needless to say I wont be going back there to deal with assholes. Ill take my business to creekside cinemas down the road where they know the lost art of costumer service.

I live about 30 minutes from the theater, and my boyfriend and I were excited to make a trip of it and drive to the movies. We are used to showing up about 15 minutes after the start of a movie because then we get to miss most of the previews, but not the movie itself. We bought our tickets ahead of time. When we got to the movies we talked to the lady at the counter about how to get our tickets. She would not let us into the theater because they have a "nobody is allowed to pass after 10 minutes past the time of the movie, rule". However, I have checked the website as well as read the terms and conditions, but cannot find this rule anywhere. Our entire day was thrown off because of this. It is most frustrating that I cannot find this rule ANYWHERE on the website, on my confirmation email, or the terms and conditions, which is a box I did not check before purchasing by the way... This was a most unpleasant experience. Although I have two rain check tickets because of this event, Im not sure I can to return.

I absolutely LOVE this place. It is an ideal setting for seeing a movie. Ive noticed that few complaints on here are things that I think make the theater PERFECT haha. For instance, I love the fact that small children are not permitted in the theater. Sorry if that is offensive, but there is hardly anything more annoying than a crying baby/ toddler. I know they cant help it, but thats not what Im paying for. Additionally, I LOVE that there are assigned seats, and no entry after the movie starts. It prevents people from saving seats for people who never show up, no confusion on where to sit because you have paid for your own seats, and of course, when people come in after the movie stats it is distracting. Some other things I love about this place is the service. Everybody is always very friendly and accommodating. The food is great and tastes fresh, and the drinks are always nice and cold. I havent been to any other theater since I started going here. Im here to stay!

IT SUCKED!!! We arrived early to have a few drinks at the bar before the movie about two hours. We enter the bar very few people (7) which is good but then we ask the male bartender with the spiky hair if he can change the tv channel from MSNBC to Fox to watch the Garcia vs Guerrero fight which is sports. His first response was yes but when he didnt we asked again and he said sure but still didnt. Well more people start walking into the bar making it business but this has been going on for am hour now. We ask a girl a she goes back the same guy we have been asking and it still doesnt get done. When he comes to bring us another beer we ask him about changing the channel and his response was "he is to busy to worry about that" isnt that part of customer service . We were finally were able to get the red head girl to change it for us after asking for 1 1/2 hours and the fight was already on the 12th round. Thanks for a bad experience my first time here.
