My girlfriend and I wanted to start our first salt water aquarium and went here because of the high ratings on here. I have to say though we sort of regret it. We bought a 28 gallon tank from him and once we got home I did some research and found he charged more than every price I found by 25%. He also told us that we could use regular water and add chemicals he sold us and add the fish after a week. Needless to say we did some research and went to a very reputable saltwater fish dealer and found out all the info we had was wrong and would have probably killed all of our fish. We had to dump out all of the water that we had cycling for days and restart with non sink water and cycle for 4 weeks so that we would have a successful tank. Do your research before just trusting anyone. We like the tank though and are already looking to go way larger once we have some more experience with this addictive hobby.

This place is AWESOME! I spent all day going to the local tropical fish dealers with little success. I remembered seeing a place on Santa Monica Blvd. which was on the way back to the house so I figured I would give it one last shot before calling it a day. I was shocked to see how good a selection they had compared to some of the other places in town. I told the man what my setup was and what I was looking for and he was very informing. When I started asking the prices on a few things he began to slash prices left and right. Two $30 fire shrimp for $50. A flame angel and a coral beauty paired with $15 off. Told him I saw the same protein skimmer $10 cheaper at Petco and he took off $15. THIS PLACE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. All the fish I got from him are very healthy and I have decided that this has to be the best tropical fish store in all of LA.

I went into this place to get medicine for my betta fish, Finneas, who is suffering from fin rot. I had the $20 Maracin 2 in my hand. The store worker then told me an even better cure was these old, dried leaves known in Japan for curing fin rot. He didnt know the name but thought it was Indian leaves. He sold me a bag full for $1. I then asked about getting some water conditioner. He then told me it is better to just use distilled drinking water. How often does a business care more about your fish than making money? I was very impressed with his knowledge, helpfulness, and his not trying to sell me on the more expensive stuff. GREAT PLACE!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

BEST STORE IN LA COUNTY! I bought a 55 gallon tank about 2 years ago and have made about every mistake possible in the process of learning how to maintain a safe environment and healthy fish. Ive driven to Long Beach, Orange County, Rosemead, Santa Monica, Chinatown, Glendale, etc in search of the perfect fish store. Yos Aquarium was one of the last stores I found and the only one I go to now. They by far have the LARGEST & HEALTHIEST selection of tropical fish in LA county and are very helpful in answering any and all questions that beginners may have.

It was free and a very cool jaunt for my girlfriend and I as we went on a walk and for drinks at the Yo Aquarium.Lots of kids around so if you cant handle that, dont go by.I really enjoyed the mix of live animals they had around and REAL KNOWLEDGE about the devastation that is trying to be avoided by this project. By educating the kids and adults that walk through they are slowly making a difference. With such a great pier location, I think this is a great stop. Highly recommended for a stroll.

I bought two goldfish but unfortunately they died the same day because the guy that helped me gave me bad instructions. Went the second day and the owner of the aquarium was nice enough to replace the fish for FREE and gave me good instructions on how to take care of them. The people working there are really nice and respectful, they make sure you leave with a nice attitude about there store. Best aquarium in L.A and the prices are decent.

Ive been to many fish stores in from the Valley to OC and I must say this one is on top with a few others. It is really hard to find a fish store that is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. These guys NEVER show attitude, and make sure you walk out the door with a smile. Great prices, their fish are very healthy and happy, corals look amazing, plants are beautiful and the birds are very happy. Cant think of going anywhere else.

Didnt seem to want to answer any of my questions, because he flat out gave me silent shrugs when I asked about certain items. And the fish, they didnt even know what half of them were, and they werent happy about me taking the time to Google and see exactly what care was required. Overall an unnecessarily rude and unpleasant experience, and on top of it I watched him give TERRIBLE advice to another customer. No thanks.

I came here to primarily check out FW fish and I really liked this place! Its not shiny like Petsmart or other chains, but not as dirty as some other fish stores either. They had tons of harder to find stuff - bumblebee gobies, tiger shrimp...all looked like they were at decent prices. Their tanks are a bit overstocked but the selection is really nice, IMO.

Pretty cool experience here. My mother bought a Beta fish her and unfortunately it died on the sane day she bought it, and brought it back the next day and the Man was nice enough to give her a new one. The beta she has now is healthy, alive, and been with us for about 2-3 months now. Nice selection of critters to check out here! I recommend this place.

They have a huge selection of Goldfish particularly the large ones and they have a reasonable price PLUS the fish are EXTREMELY healthy!!! In fact they dont even sell you fish if they just got it right away. They tell me y to come back after 3 days if they just had NEW FISH Come in to make sure no disease! That is PRICELESS!! The best place in town!

Decent shop but they sold me a chemical to put in my tank, literally put one drop, and all of my fish died. But they did give me discounts on the replacements.

Very rude customer service over the phone! I would rather go somewhere else even if it costs more because I dont want to deal with such disrespectful people.
