I would give it five stars, because I love the OMNI, but there are two very serious problems with it now. One, the film is always blurry these days. I used to be a projectionist, and there is one single thing they need to do that is more important than anything else: make sure the movie is in focus. For some reason, theyre incapable of doing that here. Its quite frustrating, especially with the visual stunners like "Hidden Universe." The other problem? Ive been going to this theater with my daughter now for ten years. If we have to hear that damned song by Doug Smith and watch that stupid, stupid video of all of Lubbocks cotton fields ONE MORE TIME, I think were both going to go absolutely insane. My husband steadfastly refuses to even go in there with us anymore because of that song: "I didnt have a problem with the song before, but now I actively hate it." Seriously. Why must we sit through it every. single. time. we. go. to. the. IMAX???? How much can that guy possibly be paying them to torture their customers with the same music over and over again? If they could change those two things, theyd be a five-star theater.

Very nice on the principles of science. I love that its kid friendly and user interactive. We had ages ranging from 4-61 and everyone found something they wanted to explore. We watched the Amazon movie. The movie is geared to an older viewing audience--our 4 year old fell asleep, but the adults enjoyed it. I was very disappointed in the animal exhibits--I found them way too small, especially for the Gaiman and the turtles. I would like to see more humane (and for the fish, cleaner) habitats for the animals. Overall a nice experience.

It is showing its age and needs renewing. Too many of the hands-on pieces do not work at all and diminish the experience tremendously. The show on the Omni screen was a PBS show that we see on regular TV. I was expecting the Arctic show. Definitely not worth the price in its present state. Sorry but I have been to the Thinkery in Austin and certainly being new has much to do with a better experience. Its time to refurbish the place including new carpeting and fresh paint besides replacing many of the hands-on pieces.

The Science Spectrum is a great museum for adults and children. The first floor hosts an area where small children (under 5) can play and learn while playing pretend either as a news caster, grocery store customer or a veterinarian. The lower level has a nice aquarium with native texas fish and other animals along with a live show that lets children learn about various creatures and even view them up close. All in all this is a great museum!

This is a great science center for such a small town like Lubbock. Obviously, there are a lot of things that can be improved (for instance, hands-on parts of the museum are very old); but still, it is great to have this place in Lubbock. More people should visit this place more frequently, because there is a lot to learn in the universe and too little time! And the omnitheater is incredible, dont miss even 1 show!

I visited for Severe Weather Awareness day and was not impressed. This is a wonderful facility for school field trips however not a place for those just visiting lubbock. This used to be one of the neatest places but now it has been run down and is overall geared towards young children. The severe weather awareness day was no exception. I felt almost excluded from that activities because of how it was set up.

Lots of fun to have with children here and the OMNI theater is great for first dates depending on what movie is showing. The OMNI theater is large, and mesmerizing both before and during the movie. Enjoyable the first up to third time through the attractions, but if youre a local it may get old as the attractions are often the same. Seasonal events are also great for family fun.

Great for kids all ages. We had a 10, 5 and 1 and a half year old with us and they were all sad when it was time to go! Super interactive and everything was in work condition. I highly recommended this place for families. Be prepared there is no restaurant so you will have to go somewhere else for lunch.

Kids will spend all day here if we let them. We ended up getting the annual membership because we came so often. It paid for itself in 2 months. And it gets you into science museums all across the country. Some of which are better than this one, but for what you are getting its totally worth it

The theatre was great, and theres definetly a lot for kids to learn. However this place has no business holding animals in captivity. Their living conditions were terrible. The enclosures are disgusting and way under sized. Please do something about this!!! Otherwise, great place!!!!

I really wish it was more affordable. The exhibits need to be updated as well. The childrens play area was magical however the more interactive areas in the main area of the museum was missing pieces. I would also like to see more interactive exhibits in the main museum area.

Went with the family to see the dinosaur exhibit. Spent a whole 5 minutes of disappointment in the exhibit room. If your children are older than 3 its a waste of time and money. Admission shouldnt be more than 2 dollars per person, but we dropped 40 bucks for a family of 4.

Missed the butterfly exhibit and the Omni theatre and was still completely blown away at how wonderful this place is! My family loved this place! We could have stayed all day and not had enough time to enjoy every activity and exhibit. Plus the price is reasonable.

Great place for kids, lots of interactive exhibits and they do a Critter Fest every year with bears, elephants, snakes, etc. Five year old and six year old love it, would definitely recommend and maybe purchase the membership if you live in the lubbock area.

Great for kids! Lots of interactive exhibits with explanations of short experiments to try then descriptions of what was happening in the situation. Awesome to get in free through our membership in our local science center in another state.
