This really could be a great place to play golf - no frills, lots of space, good location, etc. - but there are several things that take away from the experience - especially at the $25 price tag. ****First the positives: Other Players: I played as a single and was allowed to play through several groups - Ive really never experienced nicer folks on a golf course. Staff: The person in the clubhouse wasnt all that friendly, but the kid running the carts was a good guy. He had to bring me a replacement cart twice (see below) and was very nice - good job, kid. Course: Below Im going to bash it a bit, but there really are some great holes on this course: a couple of monster par fives, some very long and challenging par threes and some very easy par 4s - A good, informal place for a high handicap golfer. ****Negatives Price: I can play at several very good courses in the area on a Sunday afternoon for within $5 - $10 of the price tag here (there are several Dallas, Grand Prairie and Arlington Municipal courses that come to mind). Layout: The layout here is, by far, the weirdest I have ever seen. There are several holes with very strange dog legs - including a 500+ yard par five that goes dead straight for 400 yards and then turns greater than 90 degrees right. The cart paths are confusing and the whole place doesnt make a ton of sense. I think this is mainly due to the history of the place (see below) Greens - there are some that feel like playing on concrete, some that are like swamps. Two greens that I played on had grass an inch tall in spots and one of them was bare in areas. Also, some of the greens here are VERY small and it doesnt seem that they are small in order to make play more challenging, but to save some dough on the upkeep. Carts: I went through three - yes thats right three separate carts in 18 holes. One ran out of batteries, one was delivered with only two lugnuts in a wheel that almost fell off, the third actually lasted me through the last few holes. Other Players: I played as a single - almost got smoked twice by the nine-some (yes NINE-some) in front of me jacking drives into the adjacent green. Im a 19 handicap and was close to the best player I saw on the course. Keep your head up... History: Ive been around Dallas golf for a while and, from what I can surmise, this land is owned by a man who made his money in another field and began building holes as a hobby, eventually turning the place into an 9 hole, then 18 hole, then 21 (yes, 21) hole golf course. This bit of history explains a ton about the course layout - and I would also call it a positive. A guy who really loved golf, started building a course that he wanted to play and now you can play it too - Field of Dreams a bit. Just realise that his vision of golf might be a bit different than your own...

Lots of room. Not too challenging. Laid back course in surprisingly good shape for such an affordable cost. I thought the fairways were in great shape (wed had record rainfall). The greens were a little rough and slow but not too bad overall. This is a great course for a high handicap player looking to get some reps in or get away from some of the pretense and pageantry of other courses while you get comfortable with the game and improve. Some great long Par 3s. The Par 5s are probably long Par 4s on most courses but still a fun layout. Took both of my children to ride along. Staff and other players were accommodating and friendly. Drawbacks: Balls are overpriced. Had trouble finding #9. Course needs more yardage markers and the ones they do have have questionable accuracy.

Can it get any better? $3.50 beers at Prairie Lakes. instead id rather coming all the way from WEST FORT WORTH with a CASE OF BEER IN MY OWN ICE CHEST!!! Further more, this is a great course, very well manacured as well as challenging. Only course Ive ever seen with a par 5 dogleg that is more like a 500yd 90 degree angle. Will deff. play this course until I no longer live in the metroplex. V.P.: Business Development J.G. Harris Fly High Wireless LLC.

You have to run up to the greens or youre going to roll off the back as theyre so hard. Your puts walk all over the place like your ball is drunk. The tee boxes are in terrible shape and tee locations havent been moved so its basically just petrified dirt youre hitting off of. The clubhouse doesnt feel like a clubhouse - feels like you walked into a golf cart mechanic shop. Getting from hole to hole is a maze. The only reason I gave it two stars is because no one was playing on it so finished the round in just over three hours.

I am a beginning golfer and have only played a few times. This course was great for me as most of the holes are straight and have decent fairways. The course itself was in great condition and it was obvious they take great care of it. The people that work there are extremely nice and the $25 greens fee is fair and includes cart rental. In fact, they actually have 21 holes not 18. So you get a little extra for your money. All in all, I would definitely recommend this course, especially if you are a new or part timer.

I have to admit when I pulled up and walked into the clubhouse I said whoa, this is going to be a rough course of pasture golf but I was completely shocked when I saw how nice the greens were consistently. Some fairways had their moments but for the money, nice place to play. Especially if you have young ones trying to learn. Very laid back. Well be back but bring your snacks and drinks in a cooler. Byob also. They have an ice machine to use too!

Really just an average golf course. The greens are not in good shape and the grass type from one green to the next is different. The fairways were mowed but several greens were much to tall.

Cant beat $25 for 21 holes and a cart! Medium difficulty. Greens are so so but the course is kept up very well. Great for the novice golfer

The owner is mean. Greens are garbage. Grass is tall.... waste of money
