I rarely review places, but considering how amazing this place is I cannot neglect my duties as a community member to spread the word about how great this place is! I have been to escape room in Austin before things really got off the ground here and I thought it was fun, if very frustrating. The previous place was a successful franchise company, and the rooms I though were great. This was my standard, boy has the bar been raised! 1 Hour 2 Escape was an amazing experience, defiantly family friendly so some puzzles even young children can be involved with. Dont expect it to be easy though, it was very complex but in an very fun way! There was no frustration, no tight restrictive areas, no worrying about how much time you have because they have a screen right there to keep you in the know. When my young charge, who is on the autism spectrum, and I went in they were kind knowledgeable and helpful without giving ANYTHING away. The most important part for me was how they stepped in to put us on the right track if we were expending too much time on a fruitless task and do so without making us feel stupid. Now lets talk about attention to detail, oh my goodness I was blown away, I cant imagine how many estate sales they had to go to to find such cohesive pieces to each room. I was completely immersed and forgot till 28:13 that there was a time going. I was able to get two spots in a room three hours before starting time on a Saturday, which means that people really need to be aware that there is a true diamond in the rough here in Lewisville. In short, give this place a chance and you wont regret it. Try to get on the leaderboard, or just enjoy some complex puzzles, challenge your friends, teach your kids to work together the fun way, or learn how to deal with your coworkers while trying to rob a bank, whatever your reason this is the right place to go! I will be coming back here as much as possible, its a great way to teach my neuro-atypical charge critical thinking and active listening. Its such a positive experience with a great staff! TL;DR This place rocks, try it for yourself!

I will say, this is the only room I have completed here, so I cannot speak on the other rooms. They must be awesome, due to the great reviews given! Maybe I will go back sometime and try the others, after I try other DFW escape rooms to compare. I gave two stars on this review because I spent the evening with my family and we made it fun. We escaped from the ruins and my family and I left feeling sub-par. The entire experience given by the 1hr 2 escape crew was a little unorganized, creating an awkward atmosphere that didnt really set the mood for us at all. As far as the room goes, half the clues and trap doors were broken and didnt actually work. They need to set the environment better and give a back story for why and how we got ourselves trapped in a temple ruins. The decorations were decent, but it looked as if they just threw it together last minute. We finished the room in less than 30 minutes, with way too many people in our group (14 in total!), leaving most paying customers standing around, due to the limited amount of clues involved. The last door opening was interesting, but anti-climactic at best to be considered a finishing clue to win the game!

This was my and everybody in my parties first time to experience an escape room and I have to say Im hooked.. I dont know if it had to do with the one we did or not, but staff was fun and friendly. The puzzles werent easily completed and it made you really think and try. I was worried that it was a scam where you paid money went into a room and regretted the decision. This was not the case it was so much fun. I was worth it. We has group of 10-people with ages ranging from 11 to 55 and everybody had a good time. If you have an hour to kill this is definitely worth the time money.

Had our work Christmas party here. It was all of our first experience in an escape room and we loved it. We did the Fallout Shelter room. I the end, we got hung up on a couple of clues and waited too long to get a hint so we did not win, but we had a blast. The clues are challenging enough to make it difficult but not so hard as to make it discouraging (as we realized when the hints were given to us). Our host was friendly, humorous, and encouraging. Had a blast and would recommend to any puzzle nerds.

Great fun for the entire family! Some say not to go with time kids, but the kids even found things they could do in this room. They do a great job of mixing easy and hard puzzles so that everyone feels included. My family ranged in age from 4 to 40, and we tried out the radiation room. It was a blast from start to finish. Attentive staff, fun puzzles, and a great adrenaline rush as you try to beat the clock. They did a great job in setting up the room. Hope to be back soon.

Ive done 3 rooms here. The price is good, around $25, but Groupon usually lets you get half off I think so check there. 2 of the rooms I did were excellent, both thematically and challenge-wise. One of the best escape room venues Ive been to. Id give it a 5 if it was a little cleaner. The place seems dingy and like it needs vacuumed every time Ive been there. That being said, the rooms themselves are great and no complaints there.

This is really fun! This is a great activity for families, groups, or coworkers. You are put into a room where you have one hour to solve a series of puzzles to hit the red button and stop the timer. The door is actually unlocked the whole time, but thats not the point of the exercise. I think it is actually fun to be in a group that includes people who have never met. It really brings out your team building skills.

Staff was friendly and informative (this was our first time going to an escape room). The room we picked (Ruins) was a lot of fun. There were several different types of puzzles/clues/tasks so the group was able to break up and do different things vs 10 people crowding around 1-2 projects at a time. I also liked that the puzzles were challenging enough to make the 1 hour time limit seem doable but not guaranteed.

For our group of 7 we were almost all newbies. We were super impressed with 1 Hour 2 Escape. They were very professional and opened up for us outside normal hours. We did the bank heist room and got an average score. They even let us look at some other rooms, and we were really impressed with what they had to offer. I dont give 5 stars away these guys earned it.

Its an overall great experience. You get to use your brain in different ways and solve riddles and puzzles of a different nature. And you get to be active at the same time. So whether you escape a room or not, you still win, because youre investing in yourself. Escaping a room is a great feeling, but just the experience alone is amazing.
