We werent able to make it to our appointment because there were multiple wrecks on the interstate on our way there. Using the Waze app we left our house an hour before our appointment to ensure we made it in plenty of time. We tried contacting the Midtown location while we were at a dead stop in traffic to let them know what was going on but were unable to reach anyone. It is now 3 hours past our appointment and we STILL cannot reach anyone to discuss a reschedule or what other options we have. We had a blast the first time we went but this is unacceptable to me. We paid $120+ for a service we were unable to enjoy through no fault of our own and we cannot even talk to anyone at Escape the Room about it. We left a message and sent an email so well be more than happy to update our review if someone actually gets back to us. ****UPDATE FROM A 1 STAR TO A 5 STAR REVIEW**** We got a call and it was explained to us that the power went out at their location today and thats why we werent able to get a hold of anyone. My sincere apologies for jumping to conclusions and posting my previous review without first having the chance to speak to an ETR team member. We received a full refund and look forward to rescheduling in the near future! Thanks ETR Midtown!

I went with as a group of 10 to do the Mission Control room. The production value / decorations are really good. We were really impressed with how everything looked. As far as the actual game goes, I would not recommend Escape the Room Texas. Our game was not properly setup so we spent an hour dragging ourselves through the game wondering what we were missing. At the end, the employee told us that they had forgotten to turn on one clue and that they changed a second clue which no longer fit into the puzzle. "Oops" - no apology, no suggestion of anything to salvage our experience with Escape the Room Texas. They were obviously busy when we arrived, and we could tell that they only had a couple of people managing all of their games. A couple of times when we asked for clues, we did not get any response. Then, when we did get a response, they gave us clues for the items we had just solved. They werent paying attention. The problem is that some aspects of the game obviously depended on their setup and involvement. Fail

Had tons of fun escaping The Dig with my group. I loved the detail in each room and the fact that one room turned into more passage ways. Beware that the place does not have any signs on the outside of it and it requires you buzz into a gated walkway, staff threatened to cancel our reservation because some of our group had trouble finding it and were late. I believe some of the puzzles require a staff member activating a button when they see you have completed it. I say this because there were a few times when we solved a part of it and nothing happened for several minutes. Also, one of our clues didnt activate correctly and we had to be told over the speakerphone about it. At the end, a staff member takes a picture of your group. Our person kept snapping away without warning and cut off The Escape Room Logo in the background. With a group of 8, this meant all of our pictures had someone blinking. More attention to detail on the staffs part would have made for a 5 star experience.

The Escape Room itself was awesome and lots of fun for our group. However, we had someone who was in a wheelchair so I called to confirm that the rooms were ADA accessible and was told they were. When we arrived at the location in Houston, we found that while the rooms were ADA accessible, the Escape Room was on the 2nd floor of a building with no elevator. The wheelchair bound person made it up the stairs - very slowly and with a lot of help - only because we had driven over an hour to get there and this was a birthday celebration. We had to carry the wheelchair downstairs when we were ready to leave. The call center who talks to customers should be informed that this location is NOT ADA accessible! I was extremely unhappy and disappointed that after calling to confirm we could access the location with a wheelchair and told we could - we actually couldnt.

So I love escape rooms but the girl over our room was new. She was a sweet young girl but was being supervised as she went over the rules and choked them up a bit but completely understandable. I know everyone deserves a learning curve with a new job but it just sucks when it is on my dollar. We did The Dig and had solved and unlocked one thing AND told her several times(!!!) but she must not have seen. So she didnt activate what the lock unlocked until 15 mins later! Its really upsetting because it was on her. I have done the apartment room here and that one didnt have anything that the person had to activate. I dont believe they should have let her be over the room by herself until she was comfortable.

I did two rooms, the apartment and mission control. I was honestly a little disappointed with the apartment, and was ready to leave a mediocre review, but then we did mission control and it was a... er, it was a blast (yeah I hate me too). The room was really REALLY well set, lots of great ambient decoration, and there were a lot of really interesting mechanical/kinetic puzzles (which the apartment unfortunately sorely lacked of). Some of the puzzles required help / hints, but the majority of the puzzles were definitely solvable without sacrificing the "aha!" moment of figuring out how they work. Great job, would love to see more rooms like mission control!

We had a great time and we escaped! If you are looking for a team-building event, this is a great place to go. You have to work together to make it out. My only complaint would be that the way the situation for our room was set up, there is no clear indication that you have completed one task and should be moving on to another. I understand that not everything is 100% clear in real life, but this was a bit hard to follow. That being said, I would do this again! Maybe with a bit smaller group. We had 10 ppl and thats a lot of opinions going on at once, maybe a group of 6 or so.

We did the mission command story line. The reason this company loses a star is because we didnt really get a story/mission for the room. We were kind of shown the room and left to figure out what it was we had to do. Moreover, there werent too many puzzles that forced you to think further than "I think this code might be used for this padlock," but thats just me who likes to challenge my brain more than just "lets just try everything" Dont get me wrong - I had a LOT of fun and would still recommend this company (and this room too!) :)

Awesome place for family fun, active and friendly staffs. This was our 1st at this place and have never knowed that you have to register online for reservation. We came there at 1:40 and couldnt not sign up for the room at 2:00 which is passed the dead line, but the staff there said it was ok, and she helped put us on the list to play without have to wait for the next room at 3:00. We had a really fun time, and managed to escape the room in the last minute. Love this place and definitely will be back.
