Our wine servers were fine. They werent rude but they werent especially helpful, however, it was somewhat crowded. My wife and I tried to buy at least one bottle from each winery we visited as a sort of souvenir for our trip. We bought one bottle to sit and enjoy there at the winery and planned to discuss a bottle to take home. The bottle we bought there at the winery was awful. It had obviously "turned" as it tasted more like vinegar than wine. It also had a lot of sediment in the bottle to the point that it actually tasted gritty. When I complained to the people inside, they did exchange the bottle for me, but acted somewhat annoyed at the complaint. Now, to compare the wineries of the Texas Hill Country to the wineries of Sonoma, Napa, Russian River Valley or Europe is unfair when it comes to taste. However, I expect to be treated properly and I would have expected a level of professionalism and embarrassment at the bottle we returned. Other wineries in the area are much better at the treatment of their customers. I will stick to those wineries in the future. In short, the tasting was OK at best, the wine was terrible and the customer service was unsatisfactory. However, the food out back was enjoyable and the music was fun. We really wanted to enjoy our time here, we just couldnt. Not when there are a half a dozen wineries in the are that offer all the same amenities and much better wine.

I love this winery! The ambiance is so fantastic and the staff are all so friendly!! I had the change to visit this while doing one of the organized group wine tours. This was the 2nd stop on the tour. I had 6 coupons/samplings to try. I love how they had a few sweet wines and I couldnt wait to try. I tried the following: - Red Flirt: pretty good but not as sweet as I like - Riesling: This was my favorite and I went back to it for my last sampling. I also ended up buying a bottle. I almost wish I wouldve gotten two. - Chiaro de Luna: such a different taste for a sweet wine. Not bad but just not my taste - Dirty Girl: I really liked this one too but the Riesling stole my heart right away - A white port: this was packed a punch of flavor and I imagine it would have been perfect if I were eating something sweet. The quote I remember from the owner when talking about wine pairings is that "You pair the wine you like with the food you like. Its that easy". I like that as thinking about wine pairings seems so complicated. I just want a drinkable wine that I can either drink by itself or with whatever I am eating. I cant wait to go back to this winery and hang out and listen to some music!

I had the great displeasure of visiting this winery this past weekend. Although it looked great, things quickly went down from there. First, and most importantly, the wine tasted HORRIBLE! It tasted more on the lines of Mad Dog than wine. The staff was rude, and from reading the comments about this place it wasnt just an off day,but thats really no surprise. The reason I felt the need to write a negative review was the "owner". This is by far the worst business man you could ever imagine. Not only does he sell a bad product, he is unprofessional and rude. When his business was unorganized and didnt have record of our party, he took it out on us, the customers. I hope that others will be spared the heartache of this place and go elsewhere. Grape Creek next door is a far superior vineyard with much better customer service.

We visited this fine establishment on May 14, 2015 as a part of my bachelorette party. The staff/owners were EXTREMELY friendly and made us feel at home. This was a welcomed change, considering the HORRIBLE experience we had at Becker Vineyard. I made sure to thank them for their hospitality and explained how we were treated at their competitor. The wines were great also. I tend to lean more towards the sweeter wines. They did not have a Moscato, so I went with their Riesling. Now this Riesling was very tasty. For me, most Rieslings are on the drier side, Torres is more on the sweeter side, so I was impressed with that. Thanks Torre Di Pietra for being a wonderful vineyard and having excellent customer service skills as well as wine.

I went to the vineyard Saturday and it was a beautiful day. The Almost Patsy Cline band was playing under the tent, couples were dancing on the dance floor, and there were tons of tables to enjoy the wine. The wine tasting at the outdoor patio didnt have the best servers. They were a little unorganized and unable to describe the wines. The last time I was at this vineyard, the server was exceptionally knowledgeable and I found my favorites - Mataro, Cab Sauvignon, and Classico (although they were out of the Classico and one of the white wines Sat). I would go back if the band was playing again to just order a bottle of wine and relax under the patio.

Clearly not one of my favorite vineyards along 290. I tried their flight and the first 3 (2 whites and 1 red) would be forgettable if not for the stench that left their mark. I will say that they definitely tasted far better than they smelled, but I say that it was an enjoyable experience tasting them. Our server however was extremely friendly and my group of 7 had an enjoyable time conversing with her while we tasted our flights. I did however like their port enough to buy a bottle to go. While it may be slightly too sweet for me to try as a nightcap, I can totally see myself using it as a port-reduction sauce over a nice juicy steak.

One of the best wineries in the Fredericksburg area. You get a lot of tasting for your money, and the wines are pretty damn delicious. The shop includes a lot of interesting knickknacks, and they even have a couple of kittycats that "own" the place. One is Roxy, a beautiful and friendly tortoiseshell lap cat. Tell her hi next time you go! Beautiful grounds and view upon which to gaze and sip. With wine-infused chocolates, cheeses and crackers to munch on, and live music to listen to, this winery is one of my favorites.

We love the outdoor seating and the live music! The building is a little dark and does seem a little sparse, but the wine is good and they have EV car chargers! (2 Tesla HPWCs and a Clipper Creek charger) Definitely nice to not feel rushed, and like other reviews, super nice to hang out under the pavilion outside with live music and a gentle breeze. All with wine of course!

This vineyard is not like the others. While other wineries solely focus on wine tastings, Torre de Pietra evolved into a destination that has a large outdoor seating area, back bar, and live music. You seriously could spend all day here and not feel rushed, and if you like cats, they have several that can keep you company. Great place. Dont pass it up.

I wouldnt say this is the worst winery in the Hill Country but definitely not one I would return to. A lot of the wines had the same after taste. The staff is friendly and the grounds are nothing to scoff at but the wine isnt worth the money. I would stop at Grape Creek next door or Pedernales up the road instead.
