Kind of a mixed experience here. I was in the area and I like wine, so I figured Id check the place out. The vineyard itself is lovely, so first impressions were good. Unfortunately I quickly discovered some ridiculous stuff posted on a corkboard in the mens bathroom. One of those email forwards you would expect from your racist grandparents was posted talking about how evil Obama is and how Muslims dont contribute to society. People are entitled to their political beliefs and all, but the part about Muslims really sickened me. What if someone who happened to be Muslim popped in to tour the vineyard and found that? I was blown away by the ignorance proudly hanging in there. I contemplated leaving because of it, but we had driven quite a ways and had some time to kill, so we reluctantly decided to stay and do a tasting. Luckily the woman who hosted our tasting was extremely kind and spent plenty of time with us, and the wine was pretty tasty. Overall the wine tasting experience was good, but the racist stuff I found posted in the bathroom by the owners kind of soured the experience.

Visited here a few weeks ago and had a very nice time. A little bit pricey for the samplings but such a lovely spot with all the wild flowers in bloom. Very nice wines and excellent descriptions were given of each one. Everyone was kind and friendly. The only thing that cut into our enjoyment of the experience was that our host was trying to upsell every little thing... We simply wanted to have a couple of glasses of wine and buy a bottle and relax a little bit... but the whole thing felt like one big sales pitch. If she had had her way we wouldve bought a case of wine, an annual wine membership, a special purse to carry our wine in, several jars of jam and crackers, all in addition to the bottle of wine and the glasses of wine that we originally intended to have. It did cut into our enjoyment and ability to relax and chill out while we were there.

If you enjoy good wine, youll probably want to skip this small winery. The wines are OK for Texas wines, however tastings are overpriced for the quality of the wine. Lets face it though, South Texas doesnt have the right climate for growing grapes or producing wine (most of the wines here are made from grapes or juice shipped in from out of state). Beyond the wine, I was a bit dismayed by the racist/conservative propaganda posted by the owners on a corkboard in the mens restroom. I wanted to leave as soon as I saw this, but we were meeting a larger group and had already driven an hour to get to the vineyard.

We tried this Vineyard on a small vacation at a nearby resort. We had an excellent time and Jean was a very fun host! The wines were very tasty and she explained the different grapes to us. Please dont skip out on the Sangria!! Amazing! We would definitely go back for the tour of the Vineyard, since its closed during the week. All and all it was a great experience.

Enjoyed our visit out to Dry Comal Creek Winery. We had a reasonably priced tasting of several wines and they added a tasting of their frozen sangria at the end to top it off, which was nice on a blazing hot day. Its not the nicest little winery, but the wines are tasty and the staff is kind. Its definitely out in the middle of nowhere though!

This was my first time visiting a vineyard and I had an outstanding time! Larry was a great host and highly recommend doing the tour. Certainly enjoyed the wines that we tried and walked out with three bottles. Not a huge wine drinker so wont comment on the taste, but highly recommend this place due to the outstanding service they gave us.

Recently changed ownership and even though they were excellent before - theyre even better now! The new owner and team are knowledgeable, personable, and fun. This is a rare hidden gem and deserve all the success that is sure to come for them....but, of course, those who love this place like keeping it to ourselves ;)

We came here for a grape stomping event and had a blast. The grounds are beautiful and the employees are fantastic. We met the owner and his family and they are fantastic people. My wife said their wine is excellent. If you are in the area you should definitely make a stop here, you wont be disappointed.

We stopped in for a tour a tasting and are glad we did! Our tour guide was friendly, funny, not arrogant, and still very well-versed in wine-making, production, vineyards, etc. The grounds are spectacular (two weddings were scheduled for the day). The staff were all friendly and the whole experience a treat.

I loved my wine tasting experience. They have a particular sweet wine that tastes like it just came out of flowers. Very aromatic and sweet. I do not remember the name but you need to try the sweet ones. This vineyard is fairly small but it can accommodation a family looking to learn how wine is made.

We havent been to very many small vineyards, but even without much to compare to we thought this one was a lot of fun. The tour was simple but informative. The wine tasted good and prices were reasonable. Would recommend to anyone looking for something to do on a warm summer day.

Recently attended a wedding here. Beautiful location with a very friendly staff and excellent food. We had some bad weather blow in and made sure we were all taken care of and stayed dry! Awesome team they have there

Loved it. Most wines are blends of local and other grapes but there is a very nice red from grapes on the estate - Black Spanish Reserve...the White/Black X (ten) is also recommended...but truly enjoyed them all

Ive visited this place several times, and the staff here are very nice. The experience is well worth the money for the tasting, and I would definitely suggest doing the full tasting which includes the ports.

Relaxing vineyard and wine tasting experience. Sit in the pavilion even on a hot Texas day and enjoy the breeze with a good wine.

This is our favorite winery. We got married here in 2007. The Black and Spanish + Comal Red are a staple in our home.
