Boy was I excited to spend my birthday touring wine country. The place as I drove up was spectacular. Great view and overall appeal. However, once I walked into the door was I upset. I came up to the right side of the tasting room and was totally ignored though there was only one other couple on that side. When I asked about the place I was ignored while the blonde staff member berated people from Canada by saying that we are looked down upon as Americans as soon as we step foot in Canada and that she has never met such a rude group of people. Mind you this is the second day of the Olympic games in CANADA. She then came over and when I explained to her that I do not prefer red wine and was excited to try there white instead of the reds she looked beyond put off. She then rudely leaned over the counter and said " well for 6 dollars I guess you can try these three" pointing harshly at three wines on the menu. She then proceeded to ignore me and as I finished one she would just pour the next then go back to talking to the other couple about how rude Canadians are because she had lived in Buffalo for two years so that made her an expert. When I was finished with my three pours she rudely asked " is that all? with that I was done. I would not recommend this place to anyone if you like to feel like you are worth something. I will never be back and make sure that all my friends and family know that good service is not what you will find at Pedernales Cellars. Definitely buy your wine somewhere else.

I have previously visited this winery at least a dozen times in the last 2 years and loved it. HOWEVER, this time we went (12/20/15) and we went to sit out on the patio which is our favorite spot of the winery. My mother then proceeded to get scolded like a child due to the fact that we took out seat cushions without staff assistance from their unlocked storage container (on the patio) in order to make our seating arrangements more comfortable. RIDICULOUS that a member of this staff would treat us, paying customers, with such agitation and disrespect due to a detail as small as a SEAT CUSHION. What is more important?! Customer Satisfaction or the 5 seconds it takes to put away seat cushions. I first tried their wines in my hometown at the Houston Rodeo. Evidently, now that they have won a second award at the Houston Rodeo they think they are above securing customer satisfaction and comfort. It only takes ONE time to ruin a customers impression. Probably will not frequent this establishment again due to the service I received.

The five star status is for the amount of high-quality local Texas wines. They have a temprano base, and for our taste, produce some beautiful well rounded wines. Their white wines were very good as well. And, we managed to head out with a few bottles of Glogg for my Swedish mother. The views are very pretty from their tasting room and patio. They could definitely use some improvement on the "feel" of the place. Once inside it just doesnt have that rich historical feel of either Europe or California wine vineyards that the architecture suggests. Another note, if you have anyone that cant stand at the bar for tasting they are really left with pullng up club chairs that sit so low the person feels like a child at the party. I get not having bar stools for most of the area to keep things moving, but accommodating people who can stand with leaning stools or benches would be appreciated. Put a little handicap emblem on the bar area where they are located, if its a problem. We would definitely stop again. That just my two cents.

The wine was okay, but that was about it. We had absolutely HORRIBLE service from Carl. He spilled wine on me and did not even offer me a napkin or towel to wipe it up and told me it was my fault that he spilled. He gave me less than my actual serving of wine for most of my tasting that I paid for. When we asked him any question he would simply reply "I dont know" and then continue to be rude to our entire group of 9 women for a bachelorette party. Our entire group was prepared to spend money on wine, glasses, and other novelty items but we refused to spend a single dollar at this winery because we were served with nasty attitude and poor customer service from a man named Carl! The rest of the employees seemed to be friendly but I will never return to this winery due to the terrible service we received from Carl! If he happens to be your tasting bartender run away, run far far FAR away!

Service was terrible. We have been to many many wineries and breweries over the years and have never been greeted with anything but a smile. It was a girl named Natalie who greeted us with immediate condemnation and judgement. Her comments toward us and what we heard her telling other staff members was downright rude! I was completely astonished as the level of cruelty this woman was willing to portray on her customers! The wine was not great but its very likely that it was just tainted by the bad taste Natalie put in our mouths. We couldnt get out of there fast enough. We heard another group complain about her too later on. Cut your losses and find some more friendly staff members, I will never recommend this winery or its wine to anyone because of her.

Carrie is professional, cheerful, informative, and friendly! Even though we arent members, yet, she allowed us to the right side counter usually reserved for members only. A massive point for customer service! It is also a gorgeous facility. The prettiest ambiance in the area. Their wines are complex and enjoyable. The only downside was the lack of food to compliment each wine. All that was offered was chocolate, although not near the service bar. It would have been more helpful in deciding to buy which wine. In the end, I need more experience with the taste of their wines with food, because thats how I usually enjoy my wines. Overall, an excellent experience... Ill bring friends here!

First the good: Very good wine. Nice venue. Location is easy to find. Why a 2-star review: Snobby, unfriendly staff. The staffer who ran our tasting literally threw a stack of napkins at me without so much as an explanation. He was visibly impatient with us. And, after being rude for the better part of 20 minutes he gave a hard sell on their membership program. On top of all this, the wine was relatively expensive. Interesting to note: we went with some ppl who had gone to PC before, and on the way there they said "Oh, this is the place with good wine and rude service." And so they were right. I wont go back.

First off, the wine here is some of the best Ive had in Texas. The tempranillo is fantastic, and both family and Kuhlken reserve wines are doing some interesting things with the addition of different grapes (e.g. Portuguese tinita amerela and touriga nacionale). However the frequent rush on Saturdays (and holidays in general) does take a toll on the ambiance and service times, as one would expect. I suggest getting a glass of the tempranillo or viognier and finding a spot on the patio or lawn to enjoy the great view of some of the Pedernales river valley.
