Update.... Since my previous experience management has listened to my concerns, and we were able to get our books. My mom had a lovely day in the exhibit as well. Old I hate writing this review. My visits to the Museum itself were actually quite nice. I am always moved by the 9/11 display. This review deals more with the staff and availability and customer service. The other day there was an event where you could get GWBs book signed. I purchased a wristband with two books. I gave this as a gift. The recipient had conflicting events arise and was unable to attend. I tried to call the location that night and got zero response. I emailed them. I called them again. I called them the next day. And Finally got to speak to a human. She informed me that even though I paid for two books, there are no more. But then she said there are extras, but they are now for sale in the bookstore for $250 a piece. In addition to this, I am unable to get a refund for my original amount. I couldnt even credit the $80 toward a book. I would need to talk to the Box Office, which is the number I dialed to talk with her. But no there is apparently nothing that can be done. This just seems like a poor showing of customer service. I love my University, and I think it is great that we have a presidential library. I just wish the employees running the show actually understood how to take care of customers and alumns
HI
hi there
Nice Museum. Too bad they cant afford to trim the grass out front. Its growing way high, enough to cut down and feed a ton of horses. Three highlights of the museum are the (1.) replica of the Oval Office. Ask lots of questions. The people who work in the Oval Office LOVE answering questions for tourists. (2.) Twin Tower exhibit. A large scrap piece is displayed. You can touch it. (3.) The small Saddam Hussein exhibit, which you can easily miss if youre not looking for it, holds the pistol Saddam Hussein had with him when captured. Those were the three highlights and probably the only things worth seeing in the museum. All other items are items that were gifted to Mr. and Mrs. Bush and in turn they donated it to library. George Bush didnt donate any of his personal items such as a suit he wore as president and shoes so we can see how tall he looks in person. Would have been nice if they had several wardrobe pieces on display, pants, shirts, tuxedos, caps and shoes displayed on a mannequin. It would make the museum more special as if George Bush were there in person. I recommend signing in to YELP they have many more photos posted that are not found here on google. Easier to upload there too. Google only allows you to add one photo at a time. Go to YELP for better reviews and photos. Its easier to upload multiple photos there

Didnt think that my first visit to a Presidential Library would be this one but I was in town so knocked it off the list. There are plenty of cool artifacts on display they youd find interesting if youre into politics or history. Give yourself at least two hours so youre not rushing yourself in there. Parking is $7 and is literally across the street. If you are paying cash you have to pay inside but they take credit cards as you are exiting the lot. Entrance is $16 but there are discounts available for kids. Make sure to go into the true to size Oval Office replica. It is also furnished to be an exact replica of how the office looked during his second term. Also leave some time for "Decision Points". It is an interactive exhibit. You go into a room and see how you would make certain decisions and how they compare to the ones Dubya made. The four scenarios they give you are Katrina, the financial crisis, Troop Surge in Iraq and the toppling of Saddam. Did notice that they didnt sell shot glasses at the gift shop. We usually get them as souvenirs everywhere we go. Im guessing it is because of his history with alcohol?

Our group of four boomers visited the George W. Bush Museum the same day we had been to Dealey Plaza, where John F. Kennedy was killed. Wow. Both were fabulous, in different ways. We talked about which classroom wed been in when we heard the news of Kennedys death, stood on the spot where Kennedy was shot and the spot Oswald stood when he fired that shot. Enormous photos of Jackie and Jack are made up of small faces of their spouse. Beautiful. Geo Ws, being newer, uses incredible graphics. Overhead in a huge, high ceiling room, sunsets and sunrises follow each other over deserts, mountains, oceans, and famous sights. At the end of the production, hundreds of individual faces fly across the screen to create into an enormous collage representing Americas wonderful diversity. Stunning. Then theres the recreated Oval Office where you can have you photo taken, the tributes to Dad from Jenna and Barbara, 9-11 Memorial, which was as moving as the Holocaust Museum. Politics aside, dont miss both of these places. Definitely worth it! P.S. Kennedys lines were WAY longer than Bushs.

Having visited all but one of the US Presidential sites, I was excited to be in Dallas and to add President Bushs site. I was not disappointed. We found the security people to be effective but gracious. The highlight for us was the Oval Office. Sat in the Presidents chair and had a picture taken. The docent on duty named Alice was very cordial and explained all of the features with enthusiasm. Other very memorable folks were Trevor who instructed us on the audio tours, Mary Ann who greeted us in the early life section, and young John Mc who asked probing questions about our other visits to presidential sites. The statues of the two presidents in the patio was impressive! I was reminded of the reasons I felt good about America when President Bush occupied the White House. I particularly enjoyed the humor woven through the exhibit. President and Mrs. Bush certainly love America, and we love them!

Great way to spend two or three hours. Even if you are a liberal democrat, you should visit this museum. Half of American didnt like George W, but this will help you to understand better his love of American and its people, and all he did to inspire positive change during his tenure. He built bridged the gap and united Democrats and Republicans so much better than Obama. My view is that he seems bent on dividing America and the races, beliefs, rich vs. poor, religious persuasions, orientations, etc., and driving his agenda to diminish Americas greatness, and just make us another small part of a "world power", in which he believes Muslims will eventually rule. The museum doesnt doesnt make political statements, but is more of a historical account and shows the human side and interesting stories about the Bush family. I recommend it for anyone!

This is the fourth presidential library I have visited and enjoyed it very much. As a local area resident sometimes you forget to check the venues in your backyard. One can drive and park on north side of museum for $7. We traveled by DART light rail and took a DART bus to the museum and walked back to the DART station (0.6 miles). More parking and directions details on website. There is a security check/screening before entering so read the rules before going. Plan on a two to three hours visit to take it all in. The Library website can help you plan your visit to get the most of your time. Plan ahead as there may be special events or exhibits to view such as the All Creatures Great and Small: Christmas at the White House 2002 featured during our visit.
