I went here for my first time last week. First off, its situated on dirty Sixth St. in such a way that I had never noticed it before. I admit that I was at first skeptical about a concert venue on Sixth St., but once you make it up the stairs, you completely forget about the drunken college kids screaming out on the streets below. The venue is quite intimate, and the bars are easily reachable. The sound is super loud, and the stage lighting was nice. I will definitely go back for another show.

Ive seen a few shows here and had a really good time, but its still not my favorite place to see one. I like small spaces, but I dont like big crowds... so big crowds packed into small spaces leave me wanting to just get out of the area. There are drinks which help me stay less spazzy, and nobody is ever rude. Its not something that can really be helped or corrected, besides me avoiding it in the future as much as possible (unless of course a band I LOVE is performing).

Located in the middle of Dirty Sixth (Pecan Street) on the second floor of an unassuming building, The Parish is one of Austins best music venues. While not very large, they frequently showcase a fantastic lineup of bands. Compared to other venues, tickets are typically several dollars cheaper and the bar is considerably less expensive. However, if youre expecting quality acoustics, this place is less than ideal for anything more than a rock show.

Quite possibly the best listening room in Austin; however, seating is something of a nightmare. Another issue I found is the steep stairs you have to climb to get into the venue. I guess thats a non-issue if youre young and limber, but sometimes it wears on an old hippies joints (No, I dont mean those joints). Ill quit griping because the Parish is worth every hardship I have to endure to get there.

Drinks in small plastic cups. Enough said about that. You feel like you have to make multiple trips to the bar instead of getting one good average sized drink. I am by no means a lush but when all you are really offering is the bar-you gotta step up your cocktail game! The acoustics are good and watching shows here is great but it needs some improvement in the libation area.

Went to see Langhorne Slim at the Parish. Large and spacious, good acoustics and stage visibility. I loved the creaky wood floors, especially when enjoying a little bluegrass fusion. Ticket was very affordable and the standard bar fare was also fairly priced. The Parish has a great vibe and feels far removed from the craziness of 6th street once inside.

My favorite venue on Sixth and in Austin. The facility is pretty nice and the production in the venue makes every band/artist sound great. Theres also an Elvis themed restaurant below the venue that serves good food. Plus, its right in the heart of Sixth Street if you wanna continue looking around after your show. Recommend everyone to check it out!

Good little venue, although their sound techs could often use some lessons in moderation. They seem keen to kick the volume up to 10 in a tiny club. Their shows often come with a premium price tag, but they do put together some good, unique line ups. So get your boogey shoes out with your ear plugs and have a great time at The Parish.

The fish and chips was huge serving and delish and my friend got the chicken Cesar salad and loved it. Lunch was like $10 each which is pretty great pricing for downtown. I thought the food was great and service fast. They also had a martini deal going that I did not get to try because it was a workday but I am definitely going back.

one of my fav austin venues. it is small and intimate with great sound. bartenders are always friendly. the best thing about the parish is that it is a music venue for music lovers. i always feel like people are there to actually experience the show, not just to stand and loudly chat over the music with their friends.

Great shows are consistently booked at The Parish. I love how easily you can wander right up to the stage, even on packed nights. The other night when The Thermals were performing people were even crowdsurfing over the crowd - with no security freaking out about it (though Im sure sometimes this could be a bad thing).

The Parish is a great sized venue with reasonable drink prices. Perhaps my favorite part about this venue is the way the stage allows for hardcore fans to get close while leaving a clear walkway on the sides near the bars and bathrooms. Bartenders are really nice, too. Its also conveniently located right on 6th.

One of the best places in Austin to see a concert. Ive enjoyed many a band here. Plus, clean restrooms and a cool atmosphere in addition to really nice sound. Im not in love with the logo redesign, but thats my graphics background talking. Who cares about a logo when youre watching one of your favorite bands?

What an Austin staple, right on the dirty, always has some good bands that you should give a listen to if you havent hear of them. The inside is kind of just an open floor, but when the music gets going the whole floor starts bouncing a little, its fun, but ca get hot so dont wear a jacket unless you have to.

They had a live blues band that was awesome and the food, AMAZING! The fried mac and cheese was perfect and the philly cheese steak was stuffed with meat and cheese. The waitress was really cool as well and gave us the best service, she even brought some water for us before we even asked!

Pleasantly surprised when I went to the "Sailor Jerrys presents THE BRONX" show. Im not a huge fan of the clubs on 6th St. so this one stands out. Theyre trying to book good shows & throw fun parties, with a laid-back vibe and great bartenders. My first time there, so far so good.

This is a great music venue. Its relatively small, so you will always be in a good spot. They have 2 bars, one closer and one further from the stage. It is very small and intimate, which I like. Also, at least for the shows Ive seen there, there is no barrier in front of the stage.

The Parish has one of the best soundsystems in town, but the decent shows here are very far and few in between. If the booking here was better, Id be here much more often. The drinks are a little overpriced, also. Kind of shame that such a great space has pretty much gone to waste.

The Parish occupies a fun space in the Austin music scene. Back to when it was the Mercury, its hosted top tier locals and touring acts, in the same range as Emos and Stubbs, but feels like the low key alternative to either. Shame, because its spacious and the sound is excellent.

I like the setup of the Parish when I get to see a band perform there. They have the bar toward the back and the stage at the other end of the rectangular shaped room. It always feels dark and gloomy, but I guess that fits the mood of a lot of bands that come through there.
