After finishing a hard day of work, I thought Id check out Peches happy hour drink special. The place was pretty empty and I sat down at the bar and ordered. Upon receiving my cocktail, but before I could drink any of it, the owner came up behind me and in a somehow ferocious and disgusted voice, told me to "GET OUT" immediately. Completely taken aback, I turned around for an explanation. He gave me none, only told me to get out immediately. At first I thought he might think I had stolen something because I had a bag with me, but in the end, Im pretty sure its just because I wasnt dressed nicely. Its okay if he wants to have a dress code in his establishment, but to treat a human being like a dog with NO explanation is really bad business practice and as far as Im concerned, the business deserves to fail! Thanks for listening, K

This is a review strictly for Peché. Having left LA for Austin, the one thing I missed was the cocktail scene. Caña Rum Bar, Seven Grand, the legendary Tiki-ti...but Peché serves that need. Sitting at the bar and talking to the bartender, ordering off-menu special creations that theyre passionate about, meanwhile munching on delicious black truffle frites. It can be pricey, definitely a special occasion kind of place, but its worth it every once in a while. It would have been very easy for the servers to be uber snooty, but theyre fun and generous and they love showing people new things and exploring cocktails with them. So sit at the bar, talk to the bartender, tell him the kind of drink you like, and let him take you on a journey. Otherwise, get the Spiced Rum Smash. :)

I LOVE THIS PLACE! With its three bars (one located on either side of the outdoor stage and one located on the upper deck above the stage, and their local talent, you cant go wrong at this place for a fun weekend night. Ive been to cedar street a few times and each time they have had hilarious cover bands playing great songs of the 80s and 90s. If that isnt enough, the bands are usually wearing the most ridiculous outfits that you every did see. Definitely a wonderful place to go to dance like no one is watching, unwind, and have fun with friends!!

This place is all about the music. The Spazmatics play every Wed and once a month on Saturday and are definitely the bars prime draw. That said theres music every night! Most acts have a cover so be prepared to pay $5-15. Once in the setup is nice - theres an open central area to watch the show and a bar on either side. Prices are $4/bud light so not too crazy. I noticed some people complained about the service - I find it to be excellent. Theres usually 3+ bartenders per side to make sure waiting is minimal so you can get back to the music asap.

Ive only been to Cedar Street once; during the first F1 fan fest last November. Its a nice space and we were served good cocktails, but the prices were outrageous. I think its wrong to jack up prices because you have an influx of out-of-towners. Its one thing for hotels to adjust pricing according to demand because there is limited supply. Price-gouging for food and drink is another thing entirely because is simple seeks to take advantage of people who might not know better.

Overall a pretty cool place to get drinks or watch some live music. I went on a cool day and they had overhead heaters running, since the main part of the venue is outdoors. I love the fact that its more of an alleyway between two buildings than an actual building. The two bars are both basements of the adjoining buildings. Its part of the historic Warehouse District, so its worth checking out along with a few other places in the immediate area.

Does it get any better than this? Live music, beautiful courtyard, enough bar real estate (on both sides of the venue) to be able to get a drink even when the place is packed. If you havent been there on a Wednesday to see The Spazmatics cover 80s tracks then you are missing out on a perfect night it with friends, or a perfect date to cover every facet of a good night out.

In Chicago the architecture of this spot would be called a gangway. Its basically the space between two buildings but youd be surprise at how much that works as a music venue. The small stage kicks out loud sound from an unique array of local fixtures. Bars rest in the sunken parts of the adjacent buildings. Sound like a unique place to catch some tunes? It is...

Ill just say it, I only go here when my moms in town. Its as cougar/silver fox, nothing cover band bar...they have their market staked out and its not really mine. And the bartenders have been a**holes the last three times Ive been in. But sometimes you just need a night of U2 covers...or do you. Again, cool if youre 40+ but aint my cup o tea

Came here to see the Spazmatics; the environment and the band were fantastic. The cover charge was 10 bucks, which is reasonable, the drinks were a little pricey, but not unreasonable. Overall it was a really fun experience and a great place to spend time with friends. The music was loud, so expect your conversations to be a little shouty.

Great venue. And I do mean great. They achieve a full, powerful sound throughout the performance area consistently. Their weekly Spazmatics show is a must-see, at least once, for entertainment factor alone. Well worth the cover. Get there during SxSW and see some of the best bands and events the festival has to offer.

This place always has really great musicians playing on their awesome stage. its a really nice place to go if you want to sit outside and enjoy whatever music is going on. The drinks are pretty good and the atmosphere is good. The location is great too, its really close to other great bars.

Wednesday night is the night here (if you like 80s music at least) as the Spazmatics play here then. It is a cool outdoor patio sunken down off the street with bars on either side of it. Definitely a cool location and interesting setup worth checking out for live music.

Really outdoor bar that is perfect in the evening! The bar sits between two buildings with so many different bars to order from so short waits! The have some pretty nice live music as well as a DJ when live music isnt playing! Overall a great place to go!

Came on a Wednesday and saw the spazmatics who put on a great show. Not only were they insanely talented but they had great energy and chemistry. You could tell they put a lot of their hard work into putting together a great show.

Bad service, bad staff. These people dont know how to put on shows. The security will punch anyone dancing. Do not go to this business. With so many other great venues to choose from in Austin, dont waste your time at this one.

We had a great time, music was great the venue at this time of year is also very nice. Dont recommend it when temps are in the 90s I have a feeling you will be in an oven given the layout of the place

I really like Cedar Street if the weather is good. The bands play in a inner courtyard. You can watch from the ground floor or from the upstairs balcony. It a great great way to see the band.
