I had the experience of a lifetime at the magnificent local establishment, la Yerberia Cultura. the atmosphere gave off a wonderful aura and the drinks were okay, the homemade lager being sold was a bit bitter, if it can even be called a cider, and the proprietors spoke not a word of English , adding to the diverse anti-trump decor (screw you trump, Bernie can still win). People were incredibly kind and accepting of me, even though i am transgender, progressive individual and wore my drag-furry wolf kin skin (for these filthy backwards beans can often be very unaccepting), not only that, but i was offered a drink or two by several of the local hotties, and even managed to find my future fiance, Esteban, along the alluring, dark, and mysterious corners of the place, which has plenty of seating areas, mind you, reading the latest Naruto Shippuden manga and Edgar Allan Poes the Raven (what a dream). After all is said and done, the la Yerberia Cultura has molded my life into what it is today and i am entirely grateful, i met the love of my life, gave birth and , witnessed death in this extravagant location and dutifully recommend this place to anyone with a confused gender, progressive head, and open heart. This bar is a fun microcosm of the RGV/McAllen area. Take a second to look around the area when you park and as you walk in. The area surrounding is so very much South Texas. The bar has a great crowd that isnt too young. If you see the lady bartender ask for the Eva, best drink there. Yerberia has some excellent events too.
