I wanted to like this place more. Walking in you get a very cool vibe, big open space, great atmosphere. We were greeted and seated quickly. There were maybe five tables seated for lunch. Ordered a beer flight, everyone else got soft drinks. Those came pretty quickly. Then we ordered lunch - couple burgers, a salad, and the "Todays Special Eggrolls." From the time we ordered until the burgers and salad arrived was literally 30 minutes. The eggrolls didnt show up - she forgot to enter them. We told her to forget it, but they ended up arriving ten minutes after the other stuff and got comped off the bill. The side of "vinegar slaw" tasted like just oil and cabbage with some black pepper. The burgers themselves had great flavor. One Palmetto, one Smokehouse, both excellent tastes. The waitress said theyre only allowed to cook to well done, but they were still great. The salad dressing was nicely peppery and the salad was a good size. The final downer was trying to pay. The girl dropped off the check and went elsewhere. Ten minutes went by, and I ended up going to the bar and asking someone to run the card. The waitress was hanging out with some friends at another table. So - mostly good food, cool atmosphere, service problems.

My wife and I had lunch here for the second time today and once again, the food was pretty good. I really enjoy the atmosphere and it hasnt been too crowded both times I have stopped by. Our server today, Vanessa, was the only down side of both visits so far. She greeted us at the door and took us to our table. We both ordered a beer but were unable to get the drinks we selected because the beer list she provided wasnt accurate. No big deal. After our food was brought out, she stopped by the table once more reaking of cigarettes and never came back (I am a former smoker and know how far washing your hands and eating a mint goes). We waited for about 10 min after we were done eating for our check/to go container but ended up having to go to the bar to get someone to help us. Vanessa later came back after my card had been ran, once again reaking like cigarettes and said she had forgotten about us. This is a great place to eat but Vanessa needs to be trained a little better on customer service/hygiene when people are eating.

Im comparing this to the micro brew/ pub style place. Also, we had 5 kids and two adults and the road back to northeast Pa from a road trip to Florida...... Food was great and the beer delicious! The local brews are always a treat. :) The decor was open & typical of a micro brew. Bathrooms clean, tidy & well cared for - more so than you would normally find at this type of establishment. A welcome change! The service was outstanding! Our waiter; who introduced himself as "Buddy", was southern style cheerful, outgoing and friendly. He got it all right; drink & food. He even helped out with a few well placed suggestions. These local micro brews are always a good place to get some locally made craft beer & pretzels. The included picture is of a 4 sample beer "paddle" with a side of beer pretzels. Yummy!

Looked for a quick place to grab a bite with a dog off 95. Easy on and off the exit. Our waitress Liz was as sweet as they come and brought our pooch some water. My food was amazing. Fresh large shrimp with collards rice and beans. The collards are their own were tasteless but in the wrap they were amazing. The boneless wings are on the very small side so order a side with your boneless wings. They have Carolina reaper sauce !!! House beer flights are $5 for 4. Took a peek inside since we are on the porch. It was huge and had a stage. Looks like a place we might return.

I was very disappointed. Server dropped off menus and came back before we were ready to order and was asking for a credit card to run a tab. Never came back. Finally another server came and asked how long ago we had placed our order!? She was timely with our order then but when we were looking to order a pizza later, it took a long time to FLAG her back to order. Pizza took @25 minutes. Then didnt allow the benefit concert we were there to enjoy, finish the show. P.S. The porter house beer was served flat and without any head. Very disappointed.

Best restaurant in Florence! Local Hand-crafted Beer, delicious food and great service! Hand-made Egg Rolls, Specialty Pizzas, and twice baked Wings! The outdoor beer garden is very nice to relax with friends and family. Its a great place for large parties and events and very family friendly. They have live Music weekly. Local ownership, local brews and fresh local ingredients make this a unique Florence establishment, not to mention great beer, food, and service!

Best restaurant in Florence! Awesome atmosphere, food, and craft beer. Perfect for anyone and everyone. Great outdoor seating in the beer garden with games to keep the kids entertained. Servers will even bring out water for your pets! The menu has something for everyone, even picky eaters. And they have a huge selection of beer. If you arent sure what kind of beer you like, SHBC offers beer paddles for you to try different types!

My first choice on the VERY rare occasion I go out. The staff and management is always top notch, the beer is outstanding (Leeroy Brown is my personal favorite), and the food is interesting, different and made with all local ingredients. Eat local. Drink local. Be local. (And look for the hidden beer bottle in the rafters while youre there!)

Passing through from Pittsburgh. Great beer, food and southern hospitality. Random waitress gave my son a quarter to play a game and the owner Jim was nice enough to mail me a hat because they were all out. True customer service. Likely tradition from here on out as we travel to myrtle. Thanks Jim

Southern Hops is a great place for families and the bar lovers alike. They have lots of outdoor seating both on the porch and in the beer garden. Lots of toys and games for the kids to play with too. Overall, a great place to have amazing food and beer! And they have a great selection of both!

Awesome spot with an inviting atmosphere! Our waitress Katie was nice and fun to talk too. Their housemade beers were great; fiance and I enjoyed the porter and ipa! Yummy food as well, low country shrimp burrito and delicious Tuscan pizza! Live music also, thumbs up Southern Hops :)

Passing through on the way to Myrtle Beach. Excellent food and good prices. Great beer too! It was fast and the service was great. I would definitely recommend to anyone and will be coming back. Pulled pork sandwhich is incredible!

Great food & beer selection. Food was delicious! We came here a year ago and seemed it out for its reasonable prices. This time was the same but the bartender was very busy, as it was busy, so not as much personal interaction.

The food is good and the beer is the only micro brew in Florence. But if you are going to order a 2nd beer do it as soon as you get your first one because youll be done with it about the same time as the other one gets there.
