Im not one to ever post about a place and especially if its negative. I do not want to ruin the business for this bar but I do want to make all females aware of what happened to me and my 2 girlfriends. Without getting into every detail, we were approached by a young, pretty, and normal looking girl named Anika (prob in her mid 20s). She asked us to take shots with her and come down to her boat. Within minutes I felt this overwhelming nervousness and discomfort with the situation. We were joined by an older man (over 40) and a younger man named zach (mid 20s). While taking shots I caught the two men look at each other and whisper "yeah these ones are good". We followed them to the dock where they persisted on us getting on their boat. We said no and left the situation later to learn from a local cop, that this is the number one spot for sex trafficking. Had we been more naive or trusting the situation couldve ended a lot worse. A few local people told us that "those people are bad and I would never go near their boat" Please be cautious and careful here, especially if you arent from the area.

Sunday evening - 7ish during the of season. No real crowd, bar all but full and 2 - 3 tables occupied. LOUD/Noisy! Two loud groups yelling well over what started as EDM but changed to head bangin rock background music - also a little loud at times. No live music in the off season, I suppose. The reflective surfaces everywhere amplified the ambient noise. Bar tender seemed to be only person working as a server and she did not quit moving - ever! Its no wonder shes so thin and seemingly in shape! If she walks away and starts something else, dont be offended - shes just mega multi tasking and you dont look like youre ready to her. I got the meatloaf sandwich (comes with "loaded potato salad" and a side (slaw)) , a beer, and a water that was only empty at the end. Food was quite good and plentiful. Service was friendly, if frenetic. Check it out - even in the off season! Just be ready for loud. By the look of the receipt, love music starts back up soon. That may be likely to be worth the loudness. Some of the coming acts looked interesting.

I recently went to a concert here and the performer showered up extremely late, although that may not be the Boathouses fault I still did not enjoy my experience. I paid ten dollars for a "free" concert while others got in for free and some had to pay twenty! It should not have been advertised as free event nor should they have raised the price. Once I entered it was gross and dirty everywhere, especially the bathrooms. With it being the number one human trafficking location in Myrtle Beach, I did not feel safe. During my experience I stepped outside and was not allowed back in unless I wanted to pay again. I was not notified of this policy prior to entering nor when I first walked out. The security guard was extremely rude, grabbed my arm very harshly, and then proceeded to force me off the Boathouse property, even though I was a customer and my only response was "what?!" because honestly I did not know why a man was grabbing me. I do not recommend the Boathouse to anyone.

Please READ! I was with my sister and friend viewing the eclipse, on vacation. I want to make all females aware of what happened to me and my 2 girlfriends around 9pm on a Saturday night... We were approached by a young, pretty, and normal looking girl named Anika (prob in her mid 20s). She asked us to take shots with her and come down to her boat. Please be cautious and careful here, especially if you arent from the area. This is a very real and scary situation. I would hope something is done about it. Poor innocent girls.

We used to enjoy going here while on the water. Its been a popular stop for a quick bite and nice view with our children. After last week we wont be coming back. My husband noticed some people had attached their boat to ours and were climbing through our boat. My husband approached them asking if they often climbed through strangers oats. The man started screaming about how his boat was bigger than ours and we were lucky he didnt make us move our boat. He then picked on everything from the size of the boat to the rope we tied up with, etc. He blatantly stated he "knew the owners" and "could do what he wanted". He also told my husband to come over there and fight him. My husband went to the manager who watched the man in my husbands face and told him flat out he wasnt going to do anything because the guy was a "good guy". It is clear that they dont care about protecting their patrons and I no longer feel safe bringing my family here.

Where can one start with this review? Lets start off with the food and staff. My wife and I have tried their sandwiches with much success. My wife really likes their cuban sandwich and has one almost every time we go there. If you have never had Fried Pickles than Boathouse is the right place to try em. THEY ARE AWESOME. Their food has always been fresh, flavorful, and service fast. Now to get to the fun part called Sunday Fundays, starting in April every Sunday Boathouse gets packed and I mean packed with people that come for the food and a FREE did I say "FREE" concert series. The concerts have ranged from Yin Yang Twins, Skid Row, Coolio, Bubba Sparxxx, the list goes on. Its not uncommon to see other celebrities enjoying a beautiful Sunday at Boathouse. If you are in the Myrtle Beach area from April to Sept YOU HAVE TO give Boathouse a Sunday try. WOW

Thursday night, place was empty. Was actually a very nice looking place inside. Including us there were 5 people at the bar and maybe 1 or 2 tables with folks. After our initial drink, kept trying to get bartenders attention to order another, but was too busy watching tv. When he finally did look away, he left the bar and walked outside leaving no employees inside. Finally got his attention, paid our tab and left. Would think it wouldve more popular since Medievel Times just down the street had just let out and their drink prices were outrageous, but then again based on service, I wouldnt return.

The boathouse has so much going on! We live here in Myrtle Beach, and we go to a lot of the weekly events that the Boathouse hosts, and many of the out-of-town guests and new residents alike have thanked us for introducing them to the Boathouse! The food is delicious, the drink prices are very good, and the location is gorgeous--right on the waterway! The back yard and deck has a fantastic view of the waterway, a huge weeping willow tree, great staff, live music...you just couldnt ask for more in a fun, local bar and restaurant!
