This place, to me, seems to be over-rated by other reviewers. This isnt to say its a *bad* place to go, just that there are better places to go. The clientele at the bar seem to be regulars and mostly locals who live in the neighborhood near the bar - and make no mistake, this is a bar with food, not a restaurant with a bar. I ordered the burger on the recommendation of several friends. While it was mostly alright, it was unevenly cooked and lacked seasoning altogether. My girlfriend had the wings, and said that the sauce was on the hot end for medium. That said, theyve got a fairly decent, IPA-heavy draft list. The bartender was friendly and kind, if not extremely attentive. In summary, 551 West is definitely a good watering hole where youd grab some drinks after work with some buddies, but its not a food destination.

551 West is tucked into a neat little corner of paradise. The paradise can be found inside the restaurant with the food. When we placed our ordered we tried the crab bisque and it didnt disappoint. The sandwiches that we order were hot and delicious. So many times you get a great sandwich and it it is smaller than your fist. Joey Chestnut would have been defeated with the amount of food that you get with this order. The sweet potato fries were caramelized and tasted like candy. The garlic parmesan fries were heavy on the garlic and were delicious down to the last fry, Overall our experience was great. Thanks again to the 551 family who have provided a great Lancaster restaurant for all us to enjoy.

The food is great, especially build your own Burger night. But I especially love that the owner also world with his employees and doesnt hold himself above the work. Lastly, so far this year Ive been to two celebrity bartending nights where all bar tips and ten percent of all food sales were donated raising money for meals on wheels and a PTO. GREAT that they contribute so much to the community.

Food is above par for Lancaster and beer selection is great and always changing. Younger crowd with good entertainment on the weekends... We eat out there about 4-5 times a month and are never disappointed with the service. Owner an management come around personally and see if your meal is perfect! A step in the right direction for Lancaster. 9/10

Jimmy and Chris are amazing, my favorite people to talk too, they feel like family!! The food is great and everyone is super friendly. I love the live music and the Dead Sundays. The beer selection is always great and the bartenders know their beers, so their suggestions are always on point. Its my favorite bar in Lancaster City!!

Terribly disappointing. Stopped here since we were passing threw Lancaster. Service was HORRIBLE. We tried to get past that, but after finally putting our order in 45 minutes after we sat down the food was inedible. We left and stopped for fast food after a very sour experience.

What great food and friendly service from these folks. We tried the 551 Burger.. Burger with bacon, jalapenos and peanut butter sounds weird...but TRY IT! Wow.. We will go back whenever we can! Very friendly staff. We chatted with Chuck at length!

Nice chill spot. Food menu is very easy to read. Its 11:45 and I was offered a full menu. That was a delight. I ordered the chili bowl. #AMAZING !!!!!!!! Come on in its definitely not getting enough attention

Wings, crabs, burgers... the menu is all good, great specails. The 551 dust is a great added seasoning to wings, fries or whatever you want it on.. Sundays All you can eat Crablegs, fries and corn!!!

Great burgers! I always get the 551 west burger that has peanut butter, bacon and jalapeños. It sounds weird but it is quite amazing. My only wish is that it would be closer to downtown..
