Being a coaster enthusiast, I enjoy this small family park! This park feels like home to me and I step out of my world and enter a different experience. This small family park is very unique and very special. I love the free admission and free parking! I can just walk in and do off ride footage. Plus Waldameer has lots of options to ride and slide all day and I prefer getting a combo pass if youre spending one day and if youre going several times a year, get the season pass even though its fairly expensive. The rides and attractions are awesome for a small thriving 120 year old park. My favourite is the Ravine Flyer II. That is an insane Gravity Group woodie and goes over a 4 lane highway!! Im happy its 7th in the world because everyone in the general area loves it! The Steel Dragon is a fun Maurer Sohne spinning coaster. Great banked turns and high speed elements. The Comet is a ACE coaster landmark woodie and is a classic. It may not be the tallest or fastest but its cool and has some small airtime. They also have a kiddie coaster called Ravine Flyer III which is unique because its over the old bumper boat pond giving it an extra thrill element. Waldameer also has some great flat rides! X-Scream is a awesome ARM/Larson drop tower. Great views of the lake and surrounding area. Its also a intense drop because you dont know when it will drop which is awesome. Ali Baba is a cool thrill ride. The flying carpet has great thrills and views at the same time. Mega Vortex is a nice addition as well. The only problem is that it hurts my back. Waldameer has some awesome classic Bill Tracy dark rides. These are very rare now and its recommended. The Whacky Shack has a unique smell which people complain about but its a great smell. The ride has some cool stunts and props and its very cool. Pirates Cove is another cool ride. This walkthrough ride has a cool theme and has some weird but shortcut worthy stunts. Get on those because they are VERY rare! Thunder River is a good water ride to cool off. A nice storm tunnel, 2 hills, and you have a relaxing log flume. Make sure to ride the X-Scream afterwards to dry off fast. Waldameer also has some good family rides such as the Sky Ride, L. Ruth Express, entire North End area, Sea Dragon, and more. Waldameer also has some good kiddie rides. Up til 2014, Waldameer has a distinctive and annoying kiddie ride Mini E but Im fine with that removal. But Waldameer has some classics from the 1950s to now which your kids will love. Waldameers Water World is a FANTASTIC water park. Now expanding and nearly 20 water slides and counting, this water park is awesome. Raging and Wild River are cool relaxing tube slides. Presque Isle Plunge and Lake Erie Dip are relaxing but insane body slides. They have intense turns and sharp dips which are fun. The free fall and speed slides are a rush flying in your face. However, if you are a "wider" person, you may hit elbows or something. The Bermuda Triangle is one of my favourites with two mirror images of a spiral and one steep thrill slide. The Awesome Twosome and Liquid Lightning are awesome tube slides! Awesome Twosome has various colours and a great layout. The Liquid Lightning is cool with the drop finale. The new wave pool is crazy! This is one huge pool with 4ft waves and intensity going on. I recommend it to families and new for 2016 is the new and awesome kids area. 8 new kids slides and a spray area will make the kids occupied and it will keep them entertained. I am very happy with the expansion because they are planning new slides like a tipping bucket complex, bowl slide, and long term plans with a 4 man raft and a mat racing complex. The only disadvantage of the water park is how cold the water is. It is freezing but Im used to it. The overall food is good. They have good pizza, french fries, cookies, and more. My favourites are 2 slices of pizza and cookies. They also have good food in the water park but I have not ate there yet. The shows are ok. I love to call this park home and we need a few more coasters and a few more thrill rides. I ()

My family and I decided to spend the day at waldemeer and the water park while visiting Erie. We decided to go to the waterpark first since they closed at 7pm then go to the park that was open til 10pm. First the waterpark. For the most part the waterpark was pretty awesome! There was very little wait for slides and the food was fantastic. The grounds were a little dug up but that is because they plan to expand which is even better news. Now for the amusement park. Unlike the waterpark, the amusement park was not very good. First the rides. . .dont expect to get on too many rides unless you are there all day. For example, our daughter got on the swing ride. The operator walked all the way around to check belts (which is a good thing), but when she got back around two more kids were in line. She proceeded to let these two on then walked all the way around the ride again. When she got back she then let another new kid on and walked around the ride a third time. This happened at the carousel and other rides as well. We have been to several amusement parks and have never seen a company so greedy that they have to fill the ride so as to run it less and try to save money. Speaking of money, dont bother wasting it on the games. The prices are ridiculously high and you end up winning a small prize that is strategically hidden. Not what you think is on the wall, but a stupid little thing worth about a quarter. Also, unlike the waterpark, the food is less than to be desired. You would think it would be the same, but it is a definitely not. For example, the fries at the waterpark were crispy and some of the best Ive ever had. We got some later that night thinking they would be the same in the park. Boy were we wrong. The fries in the park were soggy under cooked and we couldnt even finish them. Finally, dont expect friendly faces at most of the attractions. The game operators and food vendors had personalities of snails. They didnt want to be bothered and would much rather be left alone. Waterpark = thumbs up Amusement park = thumbs down

This is not the park I remember when I was a kid or even the one I remember a few years ago. Its kinda getting ran down and could use some face lifts. Went to buy some swim trunks and they told me no where in the park takes cash. They use debit or Wally cards. The wally cards are a rip off. If you dont put or have enough money on them its a pain. You have to keep getting them or if your in line and pay for something and dont have enough even 1$ they will not take money and you have to go get another card! Take your debit card it would of been a million times easier if we would of had ours. Also they do these even stupider wrist bands that every person no matte age has to scan before getting on a ride. Makes the lines go very slow because they dont scan right half the time. Also making the wait and lines long. One ride my band would not scan at all so I had to hop the turn table to get on because they will not turn if the band does not scan. Very big pain and heard a lot of complaints about about them and the cards even from staff. Place is pretty dirty in spots. Attempted to sit by the stage where Wally and Wendy perform but there was food and stuff all over the ground tables were gross and sticky. I remembered the train to be kinda fun but this time we rode it it was not very fun couldnt wait to get off. Went very slow and by stuff no one wants to see. There old train at the zoo was funner then this one was. Its a cheap place to go on the weekend with the family you get what you pay for and that aint much. O and the Wally cards. Any money you have left on them is NON refundable! People tell them to keep the 20cents or 80cents what ever they have left and they dont realize thats just profit in the parks pocket. Figure how many people are there and im sure more then 1 does that. Again IDK its just not what it used to be.
