One of the absolute worst theater experiences weve ever had. First off, know that the parking structure connected to this theater costs $6/hour. Well come back to that. We bought tickets online hours ahead of time to see a movie in theater 4, row D seats 9 & 10. As soon as we sat down we noticed 2 things: the entire rows chairs were broken and the whole thing sort of fell backwards when we sat down, and my seat was SOAKING wet. There was a massive dark wet stain covering the whole seat, I have no idea what it was, but since we were only one seat in from the edge and the movie was starting we figured wed just shift over. Well of course someone came in and said that was their seat and refused to take the empty single handicapped seat right in front of us despite us explaining the situation, so I went to talk to a manager. When I explained the stain situation, she said "Yeah, I think I know what youre talking about, I saw that guy leave earlier and ask for a refund." I have no idea what she meant or what the story behind the stain is, but all that exchange DID tell me is that they knew about the spill and did nothing about it. The theater was full, and we had to ASK for our money back, no real apologies or offers were made, and to top it all off they dont validate parking so we had to pay the garage $13 just to have parked there while sitting in soda/urine and having our evening totally ruined. Bottom line, do not go here. Livingroom Theater and the theater in the mall nearby are both much better, nicer and cleaner options. I know we will never go back, and will certainly advise our friends to do the same.

The place in Portland to see limited release films - actual 35mm films, not home theater style digital projection. The cost of parking downtown leads me to visit most often on weeknights when I may be able to find free on street parking or on Sunday when I can find free parking reliably about 8 blocks away and walk to the theater. Presentation has usually been good with the films properly framed and in sharp focus. Recently, though, the framing has often been too high and if I report that during the previews and report it, the comment is dismissed because the movie hasnt started yet. Invariably, the problem persists into the feature (I see 200+ movies a year in theaters and I know when its not properly framed) so I usually plan a backup movie to see if the first one I try is improperly framed. When I report focus issues, though, they get fixed. Even when they are sometimes pretty subtle focus issues. Again, theres a dismissive attitude when I report the issue during previews, but it gets fixed. Even with those issues, I probably see two movies a week at Fox Tower because theres nowhere else to see these movies on film.

I saw Les Miserables at this theatre on Christmas day and the sound was so bad that I actually couldnt hear the music. In a musical. There were no speakers anywhere but the front of the theatre, and there was no bass. About half an hour into the film, when the female vocals began, I could hear a bit better, but every time Jean Valjean (the main character!) had a song, I couldnt hear it. I was craning forward in my seat, and focusing on trying to hear rather than just enjoying the movie. Also worth noting, the screen was rather small for the space, occupying only about 2/3rds of the front wall. I spoke to several other movie attendees who had sat in other parts of the auditorium, and all echoed my sentiments about sound problems for the first half hour, and ongoing issues with the male voices. Please please oh please do not go to this theatre if you are hoping to see anything involving music, explosions, or anything at all that you actually wish to hear.

Are there signs outside the Regal Cinemas that proclaim that ticket holders may not bring food or drink from the outside world????/ If so I have never noticed them. However NOW I KNOW. I ate half a sandwich in the lobby before beginning to ascend the escalator. I held the other half for dinner at home. I was stopped by the ticket taker who insisted that it could not be stowed for later and must be thrown away or eaten outside. With a line of people waiting to proceed up the escalator, I gave it to her and attended my chosen film. What if I had had this forbidden sandwich in a pocket? Should we theater goers expect to be searched for stashes of food? . I had no idea that Regal Cinemas was in such financial straits that every penny to be gained from its concessions was so urgently needed. To save others future losses and unpleasant surprises, why not fly a big banner NO FOOD NO DRINK over the entrance?

Look, all you guys complaining about parking need to learn how to take the max. And the high price? Get creative, live on the edge. Try going to the kiosk and buying a senior citizen ticket for $8. This theatre has great sound, always plenty of room, comfy lazy boy like chairs, and movies that other theaters dont show. Who are you whiners? You guys are the ones that have to wear a helmut before you get on your bicycle. Stop killin the vibe for the rest of us. Next time you think about complaining about something, say this to yourself over and over again~ Maybe Im the problem PS: Complaining about the GM? What planet are you from Yvette? Youre the reason kids cant play dodgeball anymore :(

For anyone who read the negative Les Miserables review, Im assuming that was a problem on opening day that was fixed soon after. I almost let that review dissuade me from watching Valjean and company today, but I gave the Regal a chance and was happy with both the audio and video quality. The only negative was the other people. People who cant sit still without loudly picking their nails or fidgeting with their cell phone for 10 minutes, let alone 150. Alas, not much can be done about that. People... Theyre the worst. I wont hesitate to watch other movies, including musicals, at this theater. However, Ill probably skip opening night to let them work out any kinks.

General manager Jessica Leuenberger does not have the maturity for her position. She is unable to listen to problems much less address actual grievances. She has issues speaking to women with more confidence and presence than she has and is prone to slander. Her body language conveys that she does not have the experience nor the temperament to do the job she has recently been given. (Rapid fluttering of eyelids, cocking her head and general disrespect.) Complaints about her job are available to the public on her personal facebook profile yet she does not even acknowledge these problems in her position as a Regal manager. She absolutely lacks the integrity to do her job.

Wanted to attend a movie but really needed to use their facilities first. Ten seconds from wetting myself kind of emergency. The lady at the counter refused to let me use their restroom without making a payment and told me to leave. Luckily I was able to dart across the street to a public restroom and decided against the movie after. She was unusually rude and I was nothing but smiling and politely asking while my friend was waiting at the counter. Besides, I havent herd nice reviews (terrible and unpredictable seating) about the theater from a few reliable sources and will find another location next time. Well deserved 1 star for poor costumer service.
