We tried out this restaurant based on a Groupon offer. The service was friendly and attentive, and at first we loved the low-lit ambiance and row after row of local wines displayed. We received free samples of a couple ciders upon request, and one was amazing -- and the 16+ ounce servings were outstanding! The trouble was the remarkably ordinary food. The spinach and artichoke dip tasted like it was microwaved straight from a tub. My wifes chicken was dry, and my order of prosciutto-wrapped prawns (four of them in a $16 meal) on angel hair pasta was virtually tasteless. The (almost assuredly pre-frozen) chocolate mousse torte we had for dessert tasted like it was filled with chocolate Jell-O pudding and came with the most lifeless presentation I may have ever seen from a restaurant that caters to an older clientele. We would return for the drinks and service, but not the food, at least not as it stands today. This is unfortunate, because the P&T makes a good first impression. I hope it soon cultivates a menu able to deliver on this promise.

We have tried this place a few times and each time we have the feeling "What just happened?" The most recent was a few days ago. We ordered our food, which took a long time, and the server came back with something different. She said we are out of _____ so I brought you this instead. Its as if she didnt know what the kitchen still had. Our order, 2 sandwiches and a humus plate took over 45 mins and the place only had one other table filled. Both sandwiches were a little on the soggy side, but tasted OK.

This is such a wonderful place - whether you are coming for a full dinner and wine experience, or coming to work on your laptop, youll enjoy this unique blend of piano bar, wine bar, restaurant, and cafe. The food is fabulous, whether you enjoy a soup and sandwich (try the Hungarian Mushroom!) or have a more complex entree, and youll be remiss if you dont order a glass of house red (always wonderful). I often have meetings here, and appreciate both the ambience and helpful staff.

We dined here last night (12/2/16). The food was good, and music wonderful). The service however was way below standard. Our waitress was anxious and overwhelmed (was the only one). We didnt get a menu for 20 min after sitting down. She couldnt seem to get our order right, and forgot several things. At the end of the night we had to track her down to pay our bill since she seemed to have disappeared after delivering our food. Go for the food, not the service.

Attentive wait staff $5 bottomless mimosas for brunch, ample portions for the cost, and the flavors are solid. Tried the hungarian mushroom soup, would recommend the non-spicy version, and I am a person who enjoys spicy. It just doesnt add anything to a soup that was already good. The ambiance is funky speakeasy chic, and they have a great bottle selection inside.

Stopped in here for a lunch after seeing a play. Its a large and robust list of options, with homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts provided by Pap Haydns. They also have an impressive selection of local wines, curated by the owners. These two things make it a great date night location.

AWESOME food! My wife and I had breakfast here a couple weeks ago and it was great. Everything is prepared fresh and it is excellent! Had some of the brisket / hash browns and it was absolutely delicious. Havent had a chance to make it back for dinner, but I certainly hope to soon!

I really enjoyed the food and drinks, the staff was friendly and service was timely, however I really wish they would dim the overhead lighting and have a little background music. It felt awkward to carry-on a conversation with how quiet it was.

Outstanding happy hour...which happens all day on Sunday. Decent beer selection and the largest Oregon wine selection anywhere. Tasty snacks and good service.

Wine/Food was great! We had an interesting and rather forgetful waitress that had a humor that was a little less palatable, but all around a good experience.

Wow, the Hungarian Mushroom Soup was as good add the reviews said! Thick, rich, creamy, full of spices and flavor, you must have the baguette with it!

Best wine in town. Large selection. Liquor is not too shabby. BLT and mushroom soup best in the business. Desserts from Papa Haydn.

If there was a best in Hillsboro list, Primrose would be #1 for brunch and #1 for wine selection... Great food! Excellent service!

Great snacks. In addition to some wines by the glass they have a huge selection of wines by the bottle with no corkage fee.

Not at all worth your time or money. The food is less than mediocre, and the management is flaky. Huge disappointment.
