This place has new owners & is now called the Rio Nido Road House. Lots of good changes are happening. Theyve started a year-round restaurant with tasty & very reasonably-priced snacks & entrees. Dinner is served nightly & lunch is served on weekends (& every day during the summer). The dining area is outdoors, but a canopy shelters it from the rain & the heat lamps keep it nice & toasty. They also host weekend evening music events in the spring, summer & fall (when it isnt cold & raining). The place also looks really good -- theyve been painting, decorating & sprucing things up. I cant wait for summer -- Pool + Cafe + Bar = Summer fun for kids & parents!: In the summer you can laze around by the pool, picnic on the nearby lawn, grab a yummy, inexpensive & even somewhat nutritious lunch from the snack bar (they make excellent burgers & sandwiches with locally-grown fresh vegetables for the trimmings, crispy french-fries & a nice selection of good-humor -truck-type ice cream treats), & indulge yourself in an ice-cold beer or fruity blender drink from the bar. The life guards do a good job of maintaining a safe environment while making sure everyone has fun. The kids enjoy playing in the picnic area almost as much as they love the pool, because they can run around on the grass, play in the picturesque little gazebo (which the owners have thoughtfully stocked with an assortment of toys), blow bubbles (the life guards set up a picnic table with buckets of "bubble juice" & an assortment of bubble wands). And the daddies enjoy watching sports on the high-definition, big screen TV in the bar. Pool admission can be a bit pricey ($6 per person over age 2). But their season & monthly passes offer an excellent value for residents & frequent visitors. Also, the pool is open from 11:30am-5:30pm & you can stay there all day. The Rio Nido Roadhouse is also becoming a popular spot for kids birthday parties & the costs are very reasonable ($4 per head last summer).

just got back from rio nido roadhouse the unofficial roling stones are there they were very late starting.played fourty minutes, then a long break they were so rude[thelead guitarest was when i asked why they were so late?HE SAID are you the boss?and yes im my boss and we were charged an extra fee because your band is supposed to be soooo gooood. they did not remotly play ,sound,or act like anytthing like the stones .i was professional i sang with B>B> king he would never be late nor rude . i am so disapointed mick has large breasts you think he would work out. they did not know the words and defenitly had no licks i covered up my real stones shirt in reverance to mick kieth ron charley. it is a shame that people even accept this kind of rip off, but so many are sheep the songs were elvis done badly ruined BOB DYLAN the best was an unidentified sax player.dont waste money, on this group of plain low cut bar room dribble they suck.

Great local pub with pretty decent food. Indoor/outdoor seating. Take a seat in an Adirondack chair on the lawn or under the covered patio. The folks that work here and Brad the owner are great people & very hospitable. We find their food & friendliness better than some of the other local pubs. They actually act like theyre happy your there & that youll consider coming back! Some pretty good music in the back & a nice pool if youd like. Great beer selection. Usually about a dozen. 2-3 handles always changing, so keep your eye peeled! If you cant find one you like, have a soft drink! Great place. Nice people. Reasonable prices on drinks and food. Try the prime rib sandwich. Good stuff. Only issue is the bathrooms could use a little paint & spiffying up. Minor in the scheme of things.

If you blink you will miss the gem of Rio Nido. Great live music, but we come here again and again for the relaxed atmosphere and down home cooking. This place nails it when we do not want to cook and need a quick local get-a-way in a casual relaxed safe out of the way place. We come here for the fish and chips but love and order the Reuben every time. Great job, folks!. When we get kids at our place, your pool is the place mom and dads can sip beers from the shaded lawn area and know their family is safe in your life guarded pool. From the inn just down the road, and your fans.

Im gonna be honest, the service can be a little slow here. As long as you come expecting it to take a little while its not a big deal, it has never caused me to hesitate because their food is absolutely amazing and their staff is very friendly. If you only come here for some drinks, get the wings anyways, you wont regret it, hands down best wings I have ever had in my life.

Gave me fries instead of salad I paid an extra $1.50 for onion soup, the only one offered, and it came with slab of melted cheese with soggy bread in it Servers were cursing Husband hadnt even left the restaurant, and already had to use the bathroom. He now cant leave it after 3 hours after eating = something messed with his stomach...?

This place is super fun from June to August. It is like hanging out at a summer camp. They have a pool and a big lawn. You can smell the barbecue. It is surrounded by massive redwood trees. Then, in the evening, a band hits the stage and people plop into the adirondack chairs or dance on the large patio. Super fun and unique place.

A great place to eat breakfast and lunch. Did not get a chance to try there dinner. I couldnt believe how good the blt and ceaser salad were. One of the most friendly staff I have seen anywhere in a long time. It may not look super nice from the outside but trust me go in and try breakfast and lunch

Inspired menu, great team, addictive food, wide ranging ales on tap, excellent margaritas...all of which complements the swimming pool, billiards, the rope swing on the river, a relaxing lawn and social space, and the live music...classic river experience...

We live in Rio Nido so we come here often. It is 100% my favorite place. The waitresses are phenomenal, the food is great (I especially recommend the ranch hand), and the alcohol selection is vast. Definite yes if youre in the area.

The food may be ok (it looked good) but I only got a chance to eat one bite, before I had to leave, the service was sooo slow (35 minutes for a burger, after ordering). And, the place was not even crowded. Wont return.

This is my favorite destination restaurant. Definitely worth a trip. Great food and fantastic beer selection. Lots of IPAs and other interesting beers. The Ruben sandwich is to die for. Thumbs up!

A small but cool place with fairly good edibles, small bar and swimming pool with a large yard area where they have bands during the summer, all in the middle of historic Rio Nido. Friendly staff
