Having traveled extensively to many historic sites, I can say that Fort Steuben provides one of the best experiences that I have had. It has faithfully re-created the original fort, capturing 1787 in time for all to see. It is indicative of so many other forts of the time and so serves as a useful model for those who wish to see what a border fort would have looked like. I highly recommend students of the Colonial and Early Republic Eras to visit Fort Steuben.

Its a fun educational experience that tell the story of how steubenville impacted the western movement of are country. Plus the seasonal event like the nut cracker village during the holidays is a fun family activity; but at the time of my last visit the work staff could have use better connotation skill and restraint with those with special needs. But a few bad apples shouldnt stop you from visiting this location the next time your in town

A historical treasure trove of signicant artifacts. Impossible to appreciate in just one visit. Everytime I return I see many things I missed before. Excellent representation of life in the late 1700s. Also includes some coverage of history prior to and after the forts existence. Knowledgeable & helpful staff.

The area around the building is nice and well maintained. The museum and gift shop were also nice, but the charge for walking around the fort was a little steep.

The Nutcracker Village was great. A definite must do during the Christmas season if you are in the Steubenville area or returning home to see family.
