We were staying outside Columbus to visit the zoo and decided to check the caverns out. After you pay you have to wait for a guide to take you down. There are things to do while you wait... Playground, lawn games, ect. You can also pay to "mine" for objects. They basically send whatever you pay to mine for down a trench with rocks and the kids find the stuff. We did not do this, but the kids who were "mining" seemed to be having a fun time. The tour itself was informative, although short. One issue I had was there was too many people in the groups they send down. In one instance half the group had to wait until the first half was done as the tour guide explained something. Another issue was some of the kids were loud and obnoxious and half the time we couldnt hear the guide. But you run into that with whatever you do. If youre looking to kill some time its OK. Not great. Just ok.

This is a fun little day trip. The cave is small and the tour is short, but interesting. They have a small play area on site and have several yard games set up. (Ex: corn hole, a large connect four, etc) There are some picnic areas on site as well. The gem panning is good fun. There is also an adorable petting zoo filled with sheep, goats, zebu, and deer. They offer food to feed the animals but prepare to get mauled/dirty if you buy some! (Those critters see that food coming a mile off!)

We really wanted to like this place. Its definitely interesting, but the experience didnt justify the price. It was a short tour with damaged informational plaques; some were hard to read and some didnt have working sound. The playground is decent and the life size games were fun for the kids. Petting zoo was an extra $3 per person and mostly just made me sad. For a family of four, we spent $50+ for less than 2 hours of mediocre entertainment at best.

This is a great place to visit with the family any day of the week. It has a great gift shop and lots of activities. Some of the activities include over sized checkers and connect four, wall climbing(for little ones), gem mining(which is really fun, a petting zoo, playground, picnic area, and of course the under ground tavernsvto exsplore. Me and my family had a blast today. The staff isbreally friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

Visited this place today and was sorely disappointed. Ive been to a few caves in my travels and this one was the lowest ranking. The tour was about $10 a person (adult) and definitely not worth it. We were in the caverns for about 30 mins. It was a very small cave and the tour guide was meh. I do not recommend this place! Check out Alum Creek State Park for a good outdoorsy day!

Although this is a historic destination, it is not worth the money to go inside the caverns. They do however, have a small petting zoo like area. I enjoyed meeting the deer. Her name was Red and she loves to lick your skin. No biting or rough housing. Just plain kindness from the animals and staff. They also have miniature cows. Cutest little things I have ever seen.

We had an amazing time visiting the caverns today!! They have a petting zoo with whitetail deer, zebu cattle, goats and a donkey. My kids loved the deer, I couldnt hardly get them to leave. Personally, I loved the zebu, they were sooo cute. The cave tour was really fun and the guide really knew the history of the cave. Youll love the scenery on the walking trails.

What a fun Columbus classic. I remember coming here as a kid, and it was fun to bring my nieces and nephew back for the same "thrilling" experience. I say this, because its a quick tour, but the steep, slick stairs really get kids excited. I hear theyre cutting back their hours and potentially closing. Sad. Get here while you still can.

This is a great place for historical buffs. The caves are interesting. However it only took about 20 minutes to go through...not worth the price. It may be better on a guided tour which was not available when I went. Dont plan on this keeping the family occupied for a full or even half day.

Interesting tour at a decent price. The gift shop had an interesting variety of items at a range of prices. There were a ton of kids there, though. While the kids seemed to like it, the tour didnt hold their attention (its an hour long with many stops/stories), and they were disruptive.

Nice little caverns with interesting history and they have their own charm. There is a small trail in the wood nearby. But i was feeling sorry for so called mini-zoo residents - 4 poor deer, who were walking in terrible dirt and were ready to dance just to get some fresh grass.

Lots to do. We enjoyed the petting zoo and the fun games on the lawn while waiting for our guided tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She entertained every question and didnt treat anyone like their question was dumb.

Very interesting cave formation. The interactive guides in the cave are a little wonky, but the cave itself is fantastic. There are a fair number of activities for the kids above-ground as well. A fun and interesting trip for the family.

Although this quaint little cave and its cute little gift shop is darling, do not expect to be amazed or you will be disappointed. A fun pit stop if you are passing by. A great place to stretch your legs and enjoy some new scenery.

Always friendly staff and a good place to take the kids. I recommend a guided tour. I had been there many times and finally took a guided tour, learned many new things about the history of the cave and the area.

Not you typical cavern experience. Over crowded, the whole self guided tour tales about 10 minutes to see the entire cave system. Not worth the money in my opinion, maybe if you have small children.

This isnt the first time Ive been to the caverns. Every time I go back I feel like there is something new for my nephew and niece. This place is shaping up to be something very unique in the area.

Has nothing on real caverns...save your money...no stalactites or stalagmites...no pretty structures...just a pure waste. Youd have better scenery touring downtown Columbus sewer system

This place is amazing especially if you have kids. Low cost for a lot of fun. You can mine fossils, gems and arrowheads. Pet the animals and enjoy the cave. I love the gift shop too!
