"Monarch joint venture" . A lecture on partnering to conserve the Monarch migration! We must plant milkweed for monarchs. Monarchs cannot survive without milkweed. Monarch caterpillars need milkweed plants to grow and develop and female monarch butterflies only lay their eggs on milkweed. Because of Land Management practices and better farming and plowing and insecticides. We have lost much milkweed from the landscape. Planting milkweed is a great way to help other pollinators also , because milkweed provides nectar resources to many types of bees and butterflies. I was given free milkweed seeds from my backyard from Debbie Jackson Debbie Jackson has been working with butterflies for some 20 plus years. She treated her butterflies, alive ones, like they are pets! It was fascinating to watch.

A cool little nature center in the heart of suburbia. Theres just over a mile of asphalt path winding through the wooded area. The nature center offers classes for Cub Scouts, Webelos, Daisy Scouts, and Brownies to meet different badge requirements. The center also offers nature themed birthday parties. Since its an Oakland County Park you will to purchase either a daily or annual parks pass. Metro and State parks do not cover Oakland County Parks.

Very nice place! The staff was very friendly and informative! The center itself was nice and clean inside and out and had fun stuff for children to do as well as animals too look at! The trails are paved and also very clean and kept. Well marked tails and its pet, bike and pedestrian friendly! Will be going back!
