I dont think that many shoppers see Fargo for the neat place that it is. To many this is a place to go shopping full of big box stores and low prices. I loved the historic district of Fargo and its main attraction the beautiful Fargo Theatre. Take some time off from the shopping and the Hollywood movies and their megaplex generic atmosphere and visit the amazing Fargo Theatre. My wife and I make it a point to visit each time we are in Fargo. Restored to perfection you an organist plays the amazing pipe organ before the movie which lowers into the stage when the lights go down. There is a great deal of seating and a mature audience. The second floor lobby has Francis McDormand from the movie Fargo carved out of wood "Wood Chip Margie" I believe her name is. A gift from the movie company that made Fargo. So who cares if the movie was bad if it was, the theatre is still worth going to. I am looking forward to going again many times in the future.

We went to a comedy show last week. Saturday night, Lisa Lampanelli....a fired up crowd as one would expect. The seating is absolutely ridiculous. The only other place I can think of that is as uncomfortable and as crowded is on airplanes. While maintaining "authenticity" and attempting to keep the feel of the original theater is a reasonable thought, its a different world than then. People pay much higher prices for tickets and comfort should be more of a consideration. I watched several large people try to get comfortable; several had difficulty getting into their seats, let alone look like they were comfortable throughout the show. Not much fun for the people around them, either. Especially during winter months when people have more bulk due to winter clothing. And seriously, its not like were talking about The State or The Orpheum now is it?

I doesnt get any better than this. The Art Deco designed classic movie palace, complete with a Mighty Wurlitzer organ that rises out of the orchestra pit to place classic american standards, musicals, and movie themes. I love watching films and live performance programs from the balcony that seats almost as many as the main floor. I saw the restored 70mm film of "Lawrence of Arabia" here, and with the modern sound system, it was breathtaking...

I love our little classic theatre! Ive been there many times for movies that they dont show in our regular theatres and for 2 concerts that were more intimate than your average show. Ive also seen a few jazz concerts at this location. Overall, the food is much cheaper, the tickets are affordable, its right in the heart of downtown, and its got a great atmosphere. Definitely a little gem in Fargo. I recommend going there sometime!

Beautiful retro main theater! Space in aisles is small. Not the most comfortable seats. The second theater is alright, pretty small, okay seats, still snug aisles. Quick and friendly service! Pricey movie food (whats new). Great location downtown. Usually shows indy films and classics- which is great! Wonderful exterior decor! Limited parking unless its at night or the weekends then its not too bad.

A real treat for those that live here and those that dont. The Fargo theatre (and new Off-Broadway theatre) are great venues for comedy shows (Fargo Comedy Festival), films (they actually got Ironman 2), and music (Winter Carnival).

Not very comfortable seating and limited screenings, but the best place in town for movies (if youre looking to avoid standard box office garbage). Definitely worth checking out for the classic films they put on occasionally.

I love old, historical theaters and was excited to have stumbled upon a film festival. I got to watch a documentary about a local icon. Would love to come back one day and see the upstairs.

Nice place, but I came to see the movie Fargo. Was disappointed when the guy at the ticket desk looked at me like I was stupid. Disclaimer! This place doesnt show the movie Fargo

Loved the show but the seats are horrible! You can still preserve the theater by replacing the seats. Paying this much for a ticket we deserve much more leg room and butt space!

A beautiful theater that shows a great mix of movies. They have monthly showings of great older movies in the summer and plenty of live performances.
