Wow. What a terrible experience. Ive played this course 4 or 5 times in the past, and the experience was always pretty good for the price. This past time, however, not so much. We were having a great time enjoying the $16 sunset special (advertised as $13 on the website, whatever. 3 bucks more - no biggie), when one of the rudest course "rangers" (I use that title loosely) drove up to us on one of the par 3 greens and, sticking a course rules card in our faces, said, and I quote, "READ RULE 3 FOR ME." Taken aback, we looked confusedly at one another and read, "Carts are to remain on the cart path on Par 3 holes." We were very apologetic and said it wouldnt happen again, to which the ranger replied, "THATS WHY YA GOTTA READ THE RULES. IVE SEEN GUYS THROWN OFFA COURSES FOR THAT." Thats what he said word for word. He drove away, and we simply sat in our carts, stupified. Let me take a brief segway here and mention the state of Bramble Ridges greens, fairways, and tees. One word comes to mind: crap. Tire marks where players clearly more abusive and careless than us have driven are all over the course. Forgive me, sir, for driving my cart off the cart path to shorten my walk to my tee shot, thereby single-handedly ruining this pristine course. If the rangers are so concerned about protecting the appearance of the course, perhaps Bramble Ridge should landscape something WORTH PROTECTING instead of a raw sewage-infested mud hole. As if this abuse werent enough to stroke the rangers ego, we were about 5 holes out from finishing when Ranger Jerkwad drove up to us and told us to proceed directly to the last hole because it was nearly time to bring the carts in (we still had 40 minutes until 8:30 - the time the sign and the pro in the shop told us to be back) and we were the only players left on the course (we passed two other groups on our ways to the last hole). So, despite being treated very rudely, we didnt utter a word of complaint and followed obediently. The icing on the cake occurred at the tee of the 9th hole. My conversation with Ranger Jerkwad went exactly like this. Im not making any of this up. This was, word for word, exactly how the the exchange went: Ranger Jerkwad: "WHAT ARE YOU GUYS PLAYIN, BEST BALL?" Me: "Yessir, were playing a kind of best ball, 2 vs. 2, skins match." Ranger Jerkwad: "YALL ARE SLOW." Me: "Haha. Yeah, I guess weve been taking our time." Ranger Jerkwad: "NO, YOUVE BEEN TAKING MY TIME." At this point, I dont really have anymore phony pleasantries left in me, so I just awkwardly nod and walk up to the tee. After being cheated out of several of the holes we paid for and essentially being chased back to the clubhouse, we packed up our bags and headed home. Sorry, Ranger Jerkwad, I didnt realize that our collective $64 didnt cover the cost of your time as an employee of Bramble Ridge. I guess thats extra. Ive always tried to avoid all of the negative reviews, the terrible course conditions, and the numerous customer complaints regarding Bramble Ridge and tell myself the affordable price is worth it, but todays little episode was the straw that broke the camels back. Ill never play or recommend this course to anyone ever again. Thanks, Bramble Ridge, for a disappointing send off.

The staff is terrible!! I have never been given so much grief trying to pay MONEY for a round of golf. Oh Im sorry Billy Bob, you had to get off your fat you know what to check me in. They dont even say, hello, how are you? They wonder what you are doing there. So I thought to myself, what am I doing here? The course layout is tight, challenging and fun depending on what nine they decide to put you on that day. The greens are horrendous! Might as well keep the putter in the car. The tee boxes are so-so. They also claim to have the best practice range in Lakeland. Yeah if you want to hit dried up yellow balls off downhill, side hill, sand range. It could be such a better experience with a friendly crew and some tlc. Until then I would spend a bit more and play some where that appreciates you hard earned money.

This is the worst course in Lakeland. Went to play at 3:30 pm and was told the there is no twilight rate that is is $14.95 per 9 all the time. Well a 30 dollar course it is not, the greens are sand and weeds and you cannot putt, the fairways are not much better, The cups are filled with sand and the flags have ruined the holes from falling down. I kick myself for even trying it with Cleveland Heights at $15 for 18 after 3 pm. NEVER EVER will I play this course again!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

I have no idea why anyone would rate this course anymore than two stars. Played the "C" course and if the other two courses are like it its really not worth the $16.05 they charge. Other reviewers complained about the course Rangers but after 9 holes I never saw one. Greens were dry, fairways were brown but the tee boxes were OK. On #9 it appeared they had put yardage markers on the green. Looked like I was trying a 20 yard putt. Dont think Ill be going back.

the fairways, rough, and greens all look the same to me; unmanicured, with horrendous greens, roughest cart "path" (if you can call it that) Ive ever seen, and, despite bragging about it, have a pathetic driving range. Dont go to Bramble Ridge (they insist its called Sanlan because they want people to forget its still Bramble Ridge), go to Cleveland Heights or something

Horrible course. Fairways like concrete. Staff unpleasant. Over rated course and over priced. Tee boxes dead grass and sand. Very dissapointed. Will never ever go back!!!!!

Just learning to play. Course seemed pretty nice and well maintained. Staff was helpful and nice. Price on a round was great. Would go back again.

Nice track, but it is not taken care of at all. There are better courses in the area for the same amount of money.

This is probably the worst course in Lakeland. The price may attract you, but dont fall for it. Dont play it.

Absolutely no advantage for keeping your ball in the fairway, might as well have played in a cow pasture.

Good, inexpensive driving range. Not too crowded.
