Im surprised this course has such a high average. I mean, its not a bad place, but 4+ stars out of 5? Nah. The drainage seems to be a problem, as there was standing water all over the place. Virtually every bunker had a puddle in it - in fact, my dad (with whom I was playing) lost a ball in a bunker, because the puddle was so deep and wide that we just couldnt find it in the murky depths. The greens were soggy, which is unfortunate, because the areas near the hole were getting chewed up and, to be blunt, destroyed. I have played courses in downpours that had less standing water. The drainage issues could be overlooked, if other aspects of the course were excellent... but they werent. The fairways and rough are somewhat patchy, and there are plenty of clovers and weeds growing around the course. The fairway were cut a bit long (though I will attribute this to the fact that the course was soaked), but the grass was also a little sparse in many spots. The cart paths are total garbage... when there are cart paths, that it. Sometimes they were paved, sometimes they were gravel, sometimes they were dirt, and sometimes they werent there. Also, the course is poorly marked, so we had to use the card to find the next hole a couple times. Additionally, the individual holes were poorly marked - sometimes there were no markings, sometimes there was a pole at 150 yards, sometimes there were a couple poles, sometimes there were just sprinkler heads with yardages poorly etched into them... overall, you are going to have to eyeball some of your shots while you are playing here (not the worst thing in the world, but I know that some people really prefer a well-marked track). Finally, the layout is a bit disappointing. There is some elevation change at times, but for a northeastern PA course it is surprisingly flat. Many holes also run parallel - you know the type.... straight out, then directly back, then out, the back. Id say about half the course was like this. When you break this mold and get a dog leg and some water or something, its actually pretty entertaining, but it just seems like they didnt make the most of the property they had. Parts of the design just scream lazy and generic. Oh, and there was geese everywhere... and all the joys that come with them. Its not the worst course in the world, and we got to play it right around noon on a Sunday for 27 dollars with a cart. Thats a reasonable rate for what we got. Id give it a solid 3/5, and if I lived nearby, I would play there probably multiple times a year. Hell, I had a terrible day (Im sick with the shanks) and I still had some fun... but I just dont see myself driving up there to play Edgewood again for awhile, given the Blue Ridge is clearly a better course and is so close. Even Sand Springs is a good bit ahead of Edgewood. Again, the place Edgewood wins out is value; an decent 18 hole course for 27 dollars, with a cart, at noon is worth it (if youre in the area).

I am so glad we were able to hold our wedding at Edgewood and want to say a big THANK YOU to the team. Samantha was our wedding coordinator and she was extremely helpful down to offering decorations so we did not need to purchase items we would only use once and suggesting vendors. She was very responsive to answering questions via email and made the process as easy as it could be. We got a terrific wedding package at a competitive price that beat everyone else in the valley. Edgewood has recently renovated the facility and the decor has a very elegant feeling. We received many compliments about the food - it was high quality and the cake was also exactly what I requested. The decorations were set up with care as well. Everything exceeded my expectations and the day was beautiful. I cant say enough positive things about the venue!

This course was VERY well maintained. I played in the fall when the leaves were falling. Somehow they kept the leaves blown off the course, greens were clean and immaculately maintained. The ball rolled true on all my puts. Nice even, tight cut greens! The fairways were tight, challenging and a lot of fun. My only complaint is the cart paths... They are everywhere and the tight treelined fairways had my ball going way out of wack if it caught one of them..And the tree roots had a lot of them busted up so they arent even usable... Overall a challenging, fun course with some beautiful holes! The staff was friendly and I will definatly be returning to this one! And the price is well worth the drive up when this course is much better then the ones in my local area.

Recently held a private event here to celebrate our daughters 1st Holy Communion. Could not have been more pleased with the result. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. This was the perfect venue for our family celebration. Cant thank Samantha and team so much for a wonderful event. All of our guests all raved. Would highly recommend Edgewood by Sand Springs and plan to return for future events.

Nice place.. Golfed her several times this year... The staff is friendly and they often run half price specials through coupons or other means.. More than worth the drive when you have half price.

Fairways and greens were in great shape. Drainage was very good since there was rain the night before. Cart paths still need some work.
