This is my first online review of a bad restaurant. So congratulations... here we go. Last night I went to see my favorite band play at the Winery At St George. It had been at least around my fifth time or so going to the "Winery." I had been going there since 2013. (The only thing it has going for it is the fact that it is in an old church.) Since then I have seen the quality (or lack there of) of overpriced event catered food get worse to the point where I stopped ordering food, which is rare for me because I eat just about everything and anything at restaurants if its at least okay food usually regardless of price. Ive been harassed during shows on now two occasions extorting me basically for an extra $10 whole dollars .... "whoa" after spending anywhere around $45-75 dollars on a "show admission ticket" for assumptions made by owner Jonathan that I didnt pay things like "two drink minimum" last nights example, which if you would have just treated me nicely then I would have obliged and spent the money on a small portion of one overpriced lousy food dish or overpriced drinks or something. But after the way the owner Jonathan came over to me and later his event staff to harass me during the show, NEVER AGAIN! Also, about half the staff there talk to patrons about things like "the kitchen is backed up" like if theyre doing business on the street or something. Regardless, I will spend my money to see my favorite band play at other establishments from now on. "Trip over dollars and mistreat customers to pick up pennies that you would have willingly had anyway" - an excellent business model. NEVER AGAIN! Also, I will be sure to tell my friends whove been there about my lousy experiences at the Winery At St George the last two times....Youre Welcome.

The ambiance and wait staff here are great, but the food is mediocre and the website is deceptive about the deal with reservations on Wednesday (when there is live music) and the owner was insulting and smarmy in an attempt to be charming. The website indicates that theres an f&b minimum when theres live music and then collects this minimum as a ticket online in advance. Seemed odd, but okay. Then when the bill came we were told the ticket price is separate from the food even though that is not at all what their site indicated. While the band was fine we would not have paid $20 each to see them had they made this clear. We had the goat cheese balls (very good- nice flavor though the portion was small), the calamari (rubbery and bland- I would not recommend at all), the flammenkuche flat bread (Ive had better, but it was okay), and the sirloin spring rolls (I didnt eat these but my companion said they were fine). Everything seemed a little over priced for the size and quality. All of this could have been overlooked had it not been for the owner. He stopped at our table ostensibly to say hello and see how we were doing. After saying he could tell it was our first time there "because we looked like virgins" (my companion and I are both women in our 30s) he asked if I was "going to go through puberty soon and start drinking real wine" because I had a glass of their white instead of a red. A white that HIS menu had paired with the food we ordered, might I add. Then he tried to sell us a spendy bottle of their brand and a matching piece of art. Also mixed in there were comments on our names, Jews, and some complaints about having to clean toilets. The whole exchange was mysogynistic, insulting, uncomfortable, and weird.

Ive never been more appalled by an owner of an establishment! I arrived with a group of 4 for the first time to watch my uncle-in-laws band. The actual building and atmosphere seemed great and I was already looking forward to coming back. After we took our seats, the owner gave us menus, and shortly after that the waitress took our first order. One of us ordered a beer, myself and the two ladies opted to hold off for the moment. Just minutes later, the owner came back over with the most disgusting tone Ive ever encountered in the service industry. "We have a $10 minimum! Its all over our website, its all over our menus, and Im not going to sit here and pour you waters all night!!", he barked, before following with his most vile remark, "Why dont you take another look!" As if to command us into action, he slammed down the menus again and stormed off. Needless to say, we wont be going back, and the band wont be playing there again. Thats not enough though - Ive never written a negative review before, but Im so livid with this mans actions that I insist on making as many people aware of our experience as possible. If I can help stop one other person from being subjected to such pathetic behavior, I have succeeded. And I might add as a final remark, that we had no problem with a $10 minimum, and had the owner courteously informed us that there was one, we would have been happy to be ongoing customers.

I went here with a few girlfriends for a nice night out (we were meeting up as a group who had never been here before) and the owner/server Karen was completely rude and mean and disrespectful. When I had asked her (as a business owner) what she thinks she was doing for her future business and the impression she was leaving on all of us, especially the ones who were new, she said "its fine" that we never come back again. Over priced drinks + rude service, and no apathy, I think Ill be taking my business elsewhere from now on, thanks. So disappointing because the building itself is beautiful.

Beautiful former church that has been decorated impeccably. The space is cozy with a ton of different types of tables for dining. The food is very good and they have an excellent wine selection. We actually started drinking Educated Guess very regularly after we are here last time. The waitstaff is a little flighty, but they are OK. They have live music events and some of them are incredibly impressive. If they could get their parking situation under control, which Im not even sure how they would do that, it would improve the overall experience.

Im so glad I tried this place. It provides you with five amazing qualities. Great Atmosphere, great food , great wine, great entertainment and great service. Youre lucky if other places can deliver on three of these. And I dont understand the other two negative reviews on here. I wasnt even aware of a $10 minimum. Well we spent 20 times the minimum and it was worth every penny. If you cant afford to even spend $10 at this place then I guess this place isnt the place for you.

The Winery has an oustanding selection of wines for ALL palates. Food is deeelicious and the staff warm, friendly and attentive. Dont miss their shows as they also tend to be GREAT. They also support live entertainment by bringing in bands to perform on weekends. Give it a try you will not be sorry.

Beautiful converted church is about the only reason to go. Overpriced in every regard. $5 coffee (NOT cappuccino, coffee), $12 a slice for store made cake, $15 for second rate port. Other than the ambiance be prepared to be underwhelmed in every way.
