I was horrified when the owner told me how they made their sweet wines. They do not go through the natural wine making process, but instead shortcut it by dumping 70 plus pounds of sugar into a dry wine that was already made. I could do that at home, but I wouldnt want to. Its supposed to be wine, not Kool-aid. If you dont have the capacity or knowledge to make wine properly, then dont try. We made the mistake of trying other wines their, and immediately regretted it. The wine was also terribly expensive compared to all of the other wineries around the valley, and its the worst by far of any of them. The only nice thing is that Clermont house is nearby, but that has nothing to do with the actual winery, they seem to have just named it that to piggy back off the historic estates name. Its kind of tragic really.

Wine was bitter, and not a good bitter. I would not recommend for any pallet. They squished these two barns together and modernized them so much that the place lost any rustic charm it once had. Despite all the work on the property they left parking as an after thought. Its hard to turn around in their "parking lot" and someone almost hit me on the way out. The staff was rude and seemed rather inhospitable. The view was decent, but not worth the poor wine and unhappy atmosphere. Try somewhere else.

We had to quit our tasting halfway through. Something just wasnt right with the wine. We told the staff we werent feeling well from earlier and left because we didnt want to hurt their feelings, but it was the wine that had turned our stomachs. Its a new winery, hopefully they get better with practice. Id steer clear for a few years.

Saw the place driving by and dropped in. Al and his brother have a great place. It is a beautiful building and the wine is great too.
