This place isnt for everyone. If you have the money to pay regular price at a more modern theater then Id say definitely go elsewhere. HOWEVER, if youre just looking to catch a quick movie and dont want to spend much, the tickets are $5! Like a time warp to 1990. Its located in a nice clean quiet Jewish neighborhood. Not much around it, including no trains, you will have to drive or take the bus. The inside... Ill be honest, it is a bit horrific inside, the floors and seats and ceilings look like a haunted, vandalized and dirty theater from a bad movie. Its obvious they havent renovated much, ever. The seats are small and tattered as are the small theaters. If youre on the big side Id say go elsewhere, you may be uncomfortable. But all in all you get what you pay for. I mean what did you expect when tickets are $5! Mostly a lot of old people come here. If youre trying to escape the rowdiness of the regular theaters then this is your place. Food is regular priced, basically as expensive as a regular theater. I always have a good time just sitting down and criticizing its decrepit appearance with friends and family before the film begins. If you have a bunch of rugrats youll save yourself a lot on tickets. Its an experience, and if youre a budget-oriented individual like me, its a fine place to go for a movie. I think that about covers it.

Here is what I posted on their Facebook page yesterday: horrible customer service! Per THIS FACEBOOK PAGE they have Wacky Wednesdays...all tickets are $5. So why was I charged $34 for 4 tickets? According to them they stopped Wacky Wednesdays "a long time ago". I guess they didnt change the info so that they could bait people into coming in. And instead of acknowledging their error Im told I can just get a refund..."nobodys forcing you to watch the movie". REALLY? Well, you just lost a customer for life! Im taking my business to Cinemart Cinemas: $8 for EVERYONE before 5pm, its CLEAN, and they recently remodeled, so brand new reclining seats. Oh, and they know how to treat their customers. 6/22/17: I posted this exact comment on their facebook page yesterday, along with a pic of the original ticketing info they had posted. Guess what???? They took the post down! I wonder why? Bad for business? Dont want customers to know the truth?

One of the last theatres with decent pricing for movies, but what break you catch for the ticket price you pay for in the overall quality of the theatre. Almost all the seats are covered in dry patches of gum. The theatres themselves are dilapidated with a basement like odor. The walls are plastered, and screens are small. Sound and picture quality are decent. The last time I went they were 15 mins late starting the film. The only nice quality other than the ticket price is that when you visit 9 out of 10 times the theatre will be empty or have 2 to 3 other people there. So if you dont care about quality of your surrounding its a good chance to see the latest movie without paying an arm and leg.

Terrible. Like others, this place is dingy, only accepted cash, probably to avoid the IRS, When the theater was still dark 10 minutes after the move was due to start, I had to go get the guy to start the movie who said the movie wasnt due to start for antoher 10 minutes which was wrong but I had to prove I was right by showing him my ticket! The movie alignment was messed up and the keystone was out of wack which messed up the 3d affect and it was too dark in all. what a waste of money. Never again! The staff was rude and all acted like the place was about to close which would not surprise me one bit!

Dont you hate having the same sanitized, packaged cinematic experience as everyone else? Would you like some personality with your theater experience? Look no further! Every trip to Main Street Cinemas is an adventure that costs you next to nothing. Will the projector break down? Will the movie not start until someone in the audience goes to the front desk to remind them to play it? Will your screen be off-center and off-color? Will all the speakers work? No one knows! Predictability is for losers.

Main Street Cinemas is a blast from the past with sweeping architecture that pays homage to the classical Greco-Roman roots of the theater. With gorgeous Corinthian columns, this theater tells a story of a civilization long gone and gives one an appreciation for the advancement of the industry. I glide through the theater floors every time I go and my wallet sings every time I pay because of its frugal nature. No where else can you visit Greece for a mere 5 dollars (during a matinee).

HATE THIS PLACE BECAUSE I WAS 30-40 MINS INTO WATCHING GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY AND THE EMPLOYEES HAD THE AUDACITY TO RESTART THE MOVIE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING . MOVIE STARTED AT 8 AND I BASICALLY PAID FOR SOMETHING TO BE REPLAYED JUST TO ALLOW 3-4 PEOPLE WHO CAME IN LATE TO WATCH THE MOVIE FROM THE BEGINNING. THATS NOT HOW MOVIES WORK . THERES A REASON WHY WE PICK A TIME TO WATCH A MOVIE NOT FOR IT TO BE DELAYED ! DONT COME HERE IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR MOVIE REPLAYED FROM THE START .

This cozy theater was a theater I once loved, but no longer. Its often messy, the chairs are uncomfortable and many are broken, etc. The popcorn often tastes stale (and this may vary, because sometimes it tastes amazing). I guess you get what you pay for, but theres one about 45 minutes away where they have leather recliner chairs, beautifully clean theaters, a cafeteria, etc. The tickets are only $12. So I guess Main Street Cinemas really just has very poor management.

I want to start off by saying this theater does not "suck". It is a small private theater that serves an important part in the community to bring first run movies to the neighborhood at reasonable prices. No, it is not a huge multi-plex with cushy seats that recline, but some of us dont care. There was a time when I went there only to find out that a particular show was cancelled but was still posted, but other that I have high praise for this place.

Dirty seats, dirty floors. Extremely small theaters. The food is ok. Tickets are somewhat reasonable. The employees are a little friendly, depends who you come into contact with though. I used to go to this theater a lot but after one terrible experience I had where the movie just shut off 5-10 minutes into it, and my family member was insulted indirectly, I will never go back here again. The place needs a lot of work.

I love this theater. My family and I have been coming here for years and are loyal patrons. The price is right. I believe its cash only. Not too many people know about this little hidden gem. Its not crazy crowded at all. Great place to take large group or even special needs adult/kids because its not over stimulating (for some). Ive been here with both my family or when the hubby and I just want date night alone.

The cinema is small but in a good area less drama. Everyone complain about the online times arent the same but if you really think about you should always call just to double check. The food a little pricey but the ticket prices are very convenient. They only take cash which is another bummer. Also it seems to be staffed by only young teens which all are nice and friendly. All the times I come I have an average time.
