Do not go to this theater. My reasons for that statement are long and varied, but the tl;dr version is dont go. That is unless of course you wish to have a bad experience seeing a movie, in which case by all means head on over. Alright, so lets talk about this place. Regal itself is a pretty OK cinema chain, falling in line with the majority of chain theater services, security, and quality. But thats not the case with Colonies particular location, where the management is a joke, the security is lacking, and the quality is below sub par. This is a movie theater that allows underage and unsupervised kids to see R rated films, they throw paid muscle at you near the entrance but do nothing when you have a complaint, and they dont have a single employee in their entire employ who wants to be there. The last two examples might be more common, but the first is illegal. You know, because whose at fault when those kids get hurt? The theater. What if they get lost? The theater is to blame. And who will be sued when the parents come a knocking? You guessed it, the theater. It blew my mind as an employee watched a group of kids she had just said no to who wanted to see an R rated film, bribe a couple in line to act as their guardians, and then let them all enter without so much as bating an eye. Just... wow. On my particular visit I decided to try out the RPX "experience", something that is touted for being comparable to the iMax theaters. And my conclusion? Its a load of bullhocky. RPX is squeaky leather seats, overly loud speakers, and a slightly larger screen. Its not worth paying the extra cash, not by a green mile. Of course my experience might have been further sullied by the fact I had to deal with those kids I mentioned before, who had taken seats directly in front of me. They talked, ALL. THE. TIME. They used their cellphones to text, take pictures, and at one point answer a call to tell the person on the other side that they were at the movies. Ladies and gentlemen it took all my willpower to not choke them out, something I am proud of. I did of course file a complaint, but you know what security told me? "It happens." You know what management told me? "Sorry, would you like a refund?" NO! I want you to use your cheap muscles to remove the problems from the movie and kick them out, not try to pay me off so I keep quite. Because guess what, it had the opposite effect! So I guess this is the place for underage kids to go see R rated films, because they dont need to worry about being denied entry or removed for being annoying. Want to use your cellphones to record the film? Head on down to Colonie Center, I can guarantee you they dont care. Otherwise if you are a law abiding citizen who just wants to see a movie, go someplace else. Youll avoid a headache.

While we were going through the ticketing section someone approached me and asked me if I had a pocket knife. I have a small 1.5" pocket knife attached to my key chain in my pocket(not visible). I assumed he needed it to open something quickly. I opened it and was handing it over when he said that it was not allowed and that they would have to confiscate it. I walked away and put it in a different pocket. Do not trust the employees, or anyone else asking for help here. He was in plain clothes, not wearing any Regal branded clothing, but when I was walking back in I saw him talking with what I assume was his manager. I had assumed this was a better theater than Crossgates. All the times we have been here prior, they never tried anything shady(Crossgates like inspecting bags to ensure people arent attempting to dodge their ridiculous concession stand prices). At least the people at Crossgates are respectful however and always wear apparel with the Regal branding.

you can exit using the elevator straight down to lower level. very clean. new everything! and the chair arm rests go up.. great if you have a larger build or are a parent of a cuddly kid. staff is very friendly, and bathrooms are clean, and family and disability bathrooms are available with in the halls of theater itself. location is near eateries and close enough to areas you can park on either side of building during the day (boscovs closes ..so dont park there fro later movies) however B and N is open rather late so you truely have an opportunity to grab a nice coffee after a movie and chat

This is the best movie theatre in the Capitol district. The seats are very comfortable. The seats dont strain your neck either. There are several theaters inside the building that are usually very full during leak hours. Be prepared to spend a lot of money tho, if you want the best you have to pay for it.

The volume in the theater was WAY too loud. My ears are numb after sitting through a movie. There is absolutely no reason to make a movie that loud. If you value your hearing, I would advise not going to this theater without decibel reducing ear plugs.

Very clean. Wasn`t crazy about staff checking my purse. Was there with my 7 yr, old grandson and purchased items sooooooo don`t know what they were looking for. Do like the kids pack but as in all theaters the cost of drinks and popcorn are ridiculous.

We always choose this theatre over the others around. Very clean and comfortable. Parking can be tough in the front at peak times due to Changs and Cheesecake. Wish it wasnt necessary to exit through the food court and mall.

Good seating, nice selection. The arms go up in the seats so you can cuddle with kids and significant others. My only complaint is that you have to walk a sizeable chunk of the mall when its time to leave.

I saw Logan in the RPX theater. Without a doubt, one of the best movie experiences Ive had. The sound and picture were excellent, not too loud. I was completely immersed in the movie.

Obnoxious entrance/exit. You need to take 3 escalators to get to the theater and you are forced to walk back through the mall to leave, as there is no escalator going down to leave.

My god this place is freaking awful! The staff looks suicidal, probably because theyre getting horribly underpaid. Just stick with your TV.

For the prices charged I would hope for a cleaner environment, otherwise the theater I was in had a decent picture, good sound and A/C.

Its a good theater. Plenty of food and room. Comfortable seats. But its hard to find a parking spot, especially on weekends
