This restaurant is inside a historical hotel, with great ambiance and service that keeps loyal customers keep coming back to stay there and/or dine there. I have been there few times myself, all for business dinner, and I always had a pleasant time and good food. The restaurant is not a huge space but I think it is enough for the area. The main dining room has black and white tiles, creating that old-fashion feel to it, with simple furniture. They don’t have crazy amount of tables on top of each other, so there are good amount of space in between each table. It is nice to dine in such relaxing and comfortable setting. But, since there is limited number of tables, reservation is highly recommended. The bartender of the evening, Neia was wonderful, she made awesome cocktails for me, and made sure to wait for me to get my camera ready before she made the cocktails. So sweet! Their food is also great, I usually have some kind of seafood, but my boss insisted on getting their chicken, which turned out to be a winner. Everything is made with great care, all very delicious. We were well taken care of by the servers, they were efficient and polite, do not bother you unless you need something, as this is more of a relaxing atmosphere. At the end, they brought out trays of complimentary sweets. On what else? Silver tier trays. It had chocolate, truffles, and red velvet cakes. They are a miniature size, as you can see them compared to eager fingers reaching out for them. They are very good too, if you are not wanting to have a whole dessert, but just a taste of sweet something, then you can just wait for these to come out instead of ordering a dessert. My husband and I had a renewal of vows ceremony and reception (for all intents and purposes, a full wedding) at The Bernards Inn in the Fall. Not only was planning the event a breeze with the help of Bonnie but the event itself was flawless. The Inn, the staff, and the food were outstanding and we received many compliments about all 3 during and after our party. I am gluten free (and a bit of a food snob) and my husband is dairy free and they accommodated us with delicious options. We even had a guest with very severe nut allergies that they handled beautifully. At one point while our guests were leaving, I mentioned to my husband that I was thirsty and 15 seconds later a server arrived with two glasses of water; just one example of how they covered every little thing. Our suite was included for that night and we were happily surprised by the little things they did for us when we got back to the room. As hosts and guests we were extremely happy. I have been to many weddings in the area recently and I have to say our event was the most beautiful, had the best service, and the best food - and The Inn is responsible for all of that. I would highly recommend you book your wedding, renewal, or party at the Bernards Inn. It may seem pricey but it is well worth it for what you get especially if low stress planning is important to you!

Im definitely not much of a fine diner, but I decided to take the GF to get dinner here for her birthday. Absolutely 5 stars all around. Private, quiet table. Food was delicious and way more upscale than I could ever hope to fully enjoy. The staff were the best, the chef sent out small tastings for free, and the whole experience was top notch. They also sent out a beautiful chocolate mousse/cake/ice cream dessert thing for my girl, for her birthday. Want even more? The entire staff also signed a card for her, and presented it with the dessert and a momento (some cool little branded trinket I cant recall now). To me, thats going above and beyond. And yes, you will pay for that. Expect to spend at least a few hundred on a full course dinner with amenities. In my opinion, well worth every penny. Dress nice!

The catering staff at the Bernards Inn was so rude and aggressive over a misunderstanding in the course of the planning of a 40th Anniversary party that they ruined the event for my family. After we were literally yelled at and insulted, we were then held hostage, not only for the deposit money, but for the cost of the entire event. They were unwilling to compromise and unwilling to stand by the word of their staff. They either misunderstood our needs or willfully misrepresented them for the event. In either case there was no accountability at any level of management. The antagonism we experienced reached the level of malice. I couldnt give a more strongly negative review. There are fifteen people who will never go to this establishment again.

My wife and I got married at the Inn ten years ago and had a wonderful reception. We have been back on numerous occasions, especially on our anniversary. The staff always makes us feel special and the food is simply divine. On our latest excursion, I had the lump crabmeat with beets, the lobster bisque, and the falafel (one of the chefs daily specials... Its not always on the menu). I thoroughly enjoyed each in its own way. The unusual, but delicious, combinations of tastes within each plate are why we like to go there. Its definitely on the pricey side, but well worth it from time to time. Im sure well be back!

had dinner there last night as a last minute decision for a birthday celebration. the room is beautiful (been there before) but the food was not really a stand out..dont get me wrong, everything was just good, not what I am used to getting at a high end restaurant..not really hungry enough for desert, but since it was a birthday celebration I decided to indulge, the chocolate torte was missing flavor..we did not complain, but will save our times there for the library or more casual bar side of the restaurant...I hate writing this about this beautiful restaurant, but I was disappointed..birthday lady

Rudest phone inquiry ever! I understand I was asking for availability quite last minute on a popular weekend--I was asking for possible small space for an intimate wedding of 6 people. I understand you probably get a lot of not so nice guests calling in, but I was nice and calm. The least you could have done was replying nicely that there are no availability on space. The first time you said "there are no availability" you said it like you just dont care, thats why I asked again...with more details. You dont have to be so rude!!!!!

We stayed for our 6th wedding anniversary, the staff and rooms were amazing, they even helped coordinate a special bouquet of flowers for my wife. The area is perfect, a small town center with a cafe near by for a casual meal. And when youre ready for dinner thier restaurant is one of the best fine dining establishments Ive been to, the spring tasting menu with wine pairings was fantastic along with the wait staff and sommelier. The only drawback I can think of (and this is a reach) would be to upgrade thier mattresses.

We celebrated my wifes birthday there. Great place overall. Conservatively appointed, but very polished with an upscale feel. The food was not trendy, but delicious and with excellent presentation. But most importantly, the service was IMPECCABLE! Our server was phenomenal, with the qualities I imagine 1920s Waldorf Astoria Maitred would have. Will definitely come again when the occasion calls for an upscale setting.
