Only doing 5 so it will be seen.... HORRIBLE PLACE!!!! The staff is very uneducated and do not know how to care for the animals nor do they know how handle their animals the right way, especially their snakes. The house conditions are horrible for all of the animals.... They are not proper size tanks, they do not have enough water in the bowls and most of them had poop in them or very old nasty food, one snake had a dead rat in it cage... so they either fed it dead and didnt bother to spike the snakes attention or they fed it live amd didnt watch to make sure the snake ate it. Most of the lizards had at least 2 claws missing.. They were housing 2 large retics in the same tank.. Im assuming for show... But most of the time this will cause lots of stress for the snakes. One snake kept freaking out in hus cage cause he had no where to go because his hide was far too small for him.. The list goes on but here us a few things they were doing wrong and i would not recommend going to this place...

Im only giving 1 star because my son loved it, and the staff was friendly. However, it deserves a zero for the quality of life the animals were in. Many were exhibiting behaviors found in animals that are depressed or stressed. The poor crocodile was just banging his head, repeatedly, against the corner ofrom his cage. Most of the reptiles were not moving at all. Not one creature was in a proper size cage. The poor snapping turtle had so much algae growing in his tank and on him, it was discusting. I went home and cried about the horrific conditions. I will never go back. I had a serious conversation with my 10 yr old son when we got home. He agreed the condition of the animals were not the best. I told him we will not be going back.

We went here on our way home from hiking to Wallace falls. We pulled in about 20 mins. after the posted closed sign. But the lights where on and the door was open. My husband just ran in to see if they were closed or staying open a little long. The own was cleaning up, he let us in for free while he cleaned up and believe you me we are going back! They have so many cool things to see and I can not wait to go back and hold a snake!! Well worth the few dollars to get in and I would have gladly paid had we needed to! We were there for 15 mins. and my children still talk about it! It was almost 2 months ago! ( children 7 and 5 and 8 months ) Great place!

Its almost startling to see what this zoo has inside its somewhat modest front doors. Stand face to face with alligators, crocodiles, giant pythons, and a beautiful anaconda, just to name the big ones. Then theres still everything else! Add to that very friendly and knowledgeable staff, a clean and healthy environment for the animals, and a very fair price, and you get a great experience that we will go back for again. Not to be missed if you are nearby.

This place is super neat. Seems to be run well. The selection of creatures and animals was great. Due to it being funded by donations, one could only wish the animals had nicer accommodations. The staff are friendly, a great gift shop, great prices, and seeing such a large alligator up close is pretty darn cool. Cant imagine just how theyll deal with it when its full grown! Definitely worth going to.

We stopped in on our way back from the mountains. A quiet looking establishment but what a treat. The staff were informative and just genuinely happy to chat and usher us into the world of slithering reptiles. We had a ball. Now when last did we have so much fun for a few bucks. To the owner and his staff just keep doing what you are doing.

Kids loved it. Employees were very friendly and helpful. If youre going in summer: call ahead and ask if there its a field trip visiting that day! We pulled in at the same time as a bus full of kids, and it was more crowded and noisy than we expected. If you want a quiet visit, try first thing when they open, or go at 430pm.

A lot of different reptiles to see. They were all well kept from the looks of it, and some were more active than others. Overall it was a fun place to check out. In addition to that, theres a really good BBQ place in the same parking lot that I would recommend.

Lots of fun for kids, or adults that love reptiles. This place has a lot of interesting animals to see and some interactive experiences too. A small gift shop and outside is a really great bbq food truck. The whole thing added up to a fun afternoon in Monroe.

Such a fun place to visit! The amount of animals they have is staggering. You can tell they are well cared for and loved very much. You can even handle a snake if you are so inclined. Im not so inclined but my 9yo son was thrilled! Will definitely be back!

Great place for the whole family. You wont see similar collection of snakes, turtles and even an albino crocodile just about anywhere else. Cheap tickets, plenty to see in relatively small space. Kids will love it! Definitely recommend it!

Got to volunteer out behind the shop to help with the Tortoises, was a fun experience. Aquatic creatures have the proper minimum gallons of water, and others have the proper coverage. Bigger than most pet enclosures.

Poor animals. Kind service. They really just need to let the animals go and close down the place. It had its run but in this day and age people dont want to see animals in conditions so poor. Felt bad for the croc:/

Terrific education center. They allow some hands-on interaction with carefully selected reptiles. They have an interesting variety of reptiles and are always looking for ways to improve their quality of life.

Kiddos loved their trip here and even got to pet a baby alligator. Great prices in their gift shop. They got to adopt a stuffed animal alligator and snake that they wont go anywhere without now!

You get to touch the snakes if you time it right! At 3 pm they took out multiple snakes so we could take a picture and touch it. Sometimes they take out the iguana as well.
