I waited til I had calmed down. Let me tell my tale. As I am apt to do, I went to Gold Dust for my morning coffee and to await the arrival of my friend Anna. Going to the bar, I ordered my coffee and waited, watching the door, for Anna. This morn, there was a lady playing a machine some distance from where I stood. She seemed paranoid , but then there a quite a few in Gold Dust that seem in that state so early in the morn. It was just half 5. As I was enjoying my coffee, a thug approached me. The sort of type one is leery of, what with the tear drop tattoo under the eye. He informed me that his wife was upset that I was watching her play her machine and wanted me to move away. Understand that I was at bar and she was sitting some distance away, well out of her personal zone. I told the thug that I was not interested in his wife and could care less about her playing. The lady complained to security. The security guard called me over and told me that a customer was bothered by my standing at the bar drinking coffee. He asked me to move, less her husband get in the mix and there was problems. "There are many other places you can stand". So said the security guard, a Mr. Graham, I believe. He also went on to tell me that he was doing this as a payingcustomer was bothered. Like I am not a customer. I told the security guard that I did not feel as if I was at fault and that if he insisted I remove myself, I would never come back. The security guard could have cared less. I am not a drug abuser, I am not interested in meeting ladies of the night. I am quite harmless and am deeply offended that I was made to feel unwelcome. My level of play is considerable, more that a few cents a click. The thug and lady seem to be favoured customers of the Gold Dust. I ignored all of the begging, druggies and ladies of the night. Aware they were there but believing they posed no threat to me or my safety. I do not feel that way anymore. The thug made me very aware of some of the nasty folks who can be found in the Gold Dust in the early morning hours. I met up with other friends at my usual coffee stop and they were not surprised at my tale. They had been telling me for ages that the Gold Dust was not the place to be. Truth be told, the same types can be found at the Eldorado, but they do not seem to be so blatant, the Eldorado being so much larger. For whatever reason, security at the Gold Dust made me feel as if I had done something wrong. Security made me feel as if I had no value as a customer. I rather think I shall be visiting my other places of play from now on.

This weekend was my first time coming to play here at Gold Dust West. I can say within five minutes after leaving from registering to get a players club I can say I WILL NEVER GO BACK. The lady who helped me was very nice. The problem began when I started gambling. The machines were super tight I mean not even 5 cents would it pay. The cock tail servers were beyond shity. I asked one for a drink after being passed by for over minutes. She was very rude and said shed be right there. I ordered a mixed drink and received only coke. Then one had the nerve to tell me I had to bet higher then 20 cents for a MODELO after I just lowered my bet since 60 cents was doing nothing for me. I told her I would never be back. she then said shed do me the favor of getting me my drink as a comp, I mean my gosh I dont need it comped! SO SERVICE IS HORRIBLE, COCK TAILS TAKE THERE ANGER OUT ON YOU WITH YOUR DRINK, AND GOOD LUCK WINNING ANYTHING. HORRIBLE PLACE EVER. IT ACTUALLY MADE WESTERN VILLAGE SEEM AMAZING. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WASTING YOUR MONEY HERE.

We have been coming here for years. The food is great! This restaurant is a 10!!! One year my hubby and I came for Thanksgiving and paid $9.99 and got dessert too!! The turkey melted in our mouths...and the cook was very skilled. The dressing, mash potatoes, salad, cooked veggies, and bread were a 10!!! We were never so pleased with other Reno restaurants. The service is always good. We have family memories that are so dear. My wonderful mother-in-law would eat with us thru the years. To this day, I think of Jodi every time we eat there.

If your a local its a great place to meet. Very friendly and will even greet you by name. I like going there with my husband or by my self. I always feel safe. Their security is right on top of everything. They are remodeling and it is really looking. Its not dark and smokey, it bright and fresh. Fun place to be!!

Had a great stay away from the kids here with the hubby. The room was large and the bed was wonderful! We played penny machines all night and won what we paid for our stay back plus $5.00 and had tons of laughs, drinks and fun all nigh! Would recommend it to anyone!

Cozy small local casino. This place tries to compete with big casinos by doing a better job. Best value cafe in Reno for sure!! Good parking, easy access off I-80. Really good food at very reasonable prices!! Nice mix of slots. No hotel. Good bar!

The food in the restraunt is good. Their recent remodel definitely makes the place look and feel welcoming. My only complaint is cocktails.... When the casinos busy, they always seem to be short handed when it comes to cocktail waitresses.

Typical Nevada casino with slots, nice restaurant and hotel on premises. A little smokey but acceptable. Fairly friendly players club with bonuses for new player. Close parking right by the front door. Overall not the fanciest but acceptable

Extremely hard to upgrade your players card at this casino, but if you play alot, the rewards on your players card are un matched to any of the larger casinos. This casino is basically a locals casino but plays right along side the big boys.

The only way to get in/out of the restaurant, for a wheelchair, is to ride in a gated electronic freight lift run by a security guard. But the food is worth it. And it doesnt have that over powering perfume like some casinos.

Tweaker haven. And when I hit a taxable there I could tell that they were watching my every move. Why dont you make it obvious assholes! Foods cheap and decent. You could do worse, but I like the penny Caveman and Kleo keno.

It got a variety of machines, and a nice restaurant with great food, and getting a drink while you play is not like waiting for a snail to crawl a crossed your yard,but still could be a little bit more frequent.

Its a locals place so its a familiar place. I love the restaurant. Its home cooking at its finest. The casino seems to be pretty good to me and I love our cocktail waiter Dennis. He rocks! And easy parking.
