I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Golden Nugget Laughlin. I have stayed at Golden Nugget Las Vegas many times (almost every time I go), and they are great at the Las Vegas location. I was expecting the same experience in Laughlin, but instead it was the complete opposite. I was with a group of 15 people, and when I called to ask for rooms near one another I was told there was no way to get us all near each other, yet when my friend checked in he was able to get all rooms (except mine) next to each other. Strike one Golden Nugget. My other friend had called to ask if we were able to bring coolers down to the pool and they said yes, yet when we went to the pool there were clearly marked signs saying "No coolers allowed". Strike two Golden Nugget. My friend asked a security guard if we could go into the river right below the pool area and he said yes and explained how to get down there, yet when my friend went down there to check it out she got yelled at by a different security guard who told her the only hotel with beach access is Harrahs. Strike three Golden Nugget. When we checked into the room the air conditioner was broken. We had to sit in the 90 degree room for almost an hour until it was fixed. Strike four Golden Nugget. We ate at Claim Jumper in the hotel for breakfast on Saturday. Two of my friends didnt get their meals until after everyone else was done eating. The waitress was the slowest Ive ever seen, and the place was practically empty. On Sunday I ordered breakfast to go from Claim Jumper and they told me it would be ten minutes. I went down and asked for my food... another ten minutes later I ask for my food again and the hostess had to go ask the chefs to finally start cooking my meal. Strike five. I called on Sunday to add an extra night and the front desk wanted to switch my room until I said "look why cant we just stay in our room and you move the guest that hasnt checked in yet to a different room?" They agreed to this, but come on people. How could you not figure that out on your own? At check out I was billed way more than I booked my room for. I booked online with a promo code for $59 a night for the first two nights, yet I was billed $68.99 for each of the first two nights. Also, when I had called to add the extra night they told me over the phone that it was going to be $40 something for that night, yet again when I checked out it was $52.99. Strike six Golden Nugget. I tried to talk to the front desk about adjusted room charges, but they did nothing. They told me I was wrong and just left it at that. They did not care at all, just sat there waiting for me to sign. Such poor service all around. I will never stay at your hotel again, and now I am second guessing my decisions to stay at Golden Nugget in Vegas as well.

The rooms are nicer here than the Pioneer, Edgewater,Riverside or the Colorado Bell. They also still offer free coffee, WiFi and hair conditioner. These are small amenities you assume any hotel would offer yet none of these other mentioned hotels above offer these needed comforts. Kudos to the Nugget for keeping these items. After all its a hotel and at the Nugget your still treated as if your in one. The others may as well call themselves Motels cause that what it feels like. Its awful to wake get in shower wash hair grab what you think is conditioner and its lotion. Trip to the gift shop and you may as well get in line for 20 mins for a simple cup. Not a very nice or comfortable way to wake up on vacation. I believe these little things make or break a good vacation. WiFi $10 elsewhere Nugget $0.00 free as well it should be. I provide Wifi at my home for guest and a casino certainly can do the same. I was impressed with the Nuggets staff at cash cage and food service areas all very kind helpfull people. Not so happy with treatment at players club but hey every place has depts that just lack good management. Sorry players club I was unhappy and even upset 2 times in two visits, thats 2 much.. Hats off to those who help handle my issues there. Overall I give it an 8 of ten, oh btw there is little to for it with children here. Maybe the Riverside if ya got kids only because they just cater to a more adult crowd here. Although welcome here your kids wont find much to do.

Stayed 5 nights, aug 26 - 31. Great staff, helpful friendly and funny. There was a passing flash flood storm with high winds, causing tree branches to bang on windows pretty hard.. When I called front desk they didnt hesitate to move us to different room, didnt even have to ask to be moved, it was offered as soon as I described issue. For our safety as well as the loud noise, they moved us to another room and had help come right away for help with luggage. That made me aware of their great staff immediately. Great food, saltgrass steak house, bubba Gump and harlows were awesome. Harlows prices were really reasonable with pretty good breakfast. Pool isnt huge but big enough to do the job, since most water fun is spent in river. Direct access to river walk and river taxi. As far as casino floor, no complaints. Waitresses were on point, dealers were super friendly and encouraged winning. Slots were super fun, with plenty to choose from and themes such as "family guy" "wizard of oz" and the awesome "willy wonka" machines, its very entertaining. For being only penny slots, they paid pretty damn good actually. Especially the willy wonka slot. The one and only down side is the wifi, at $10 a day, its a little steep, with service not being all that great in the area its quite an inconvenience. But I definitely plan on staying here next visit.

I spent a lot of time researching where to stay in Laughlin, because we needed a place to sleep on our journey from Bakersfield to Las Vegas. Finally, both reviews and the price suggested that the Golden Nugget is the best hotel in Laughlin and oh dear, if thats the case... We arrived, parked our car in the shady and filthy garage and headed to the check-in counter. Allegedly, a water pipe failure in the Harrahs hotel caused the Golden Nugget to be completely booked out, so we had two choices, although we booked a two beds non-smoking room: 1. Sleep in a one king bed room with my mother 2. Sleep in a SMOKING two queens room We checked the smoking room, almost had a heart attack due to the disgusting stench, went back to the counter and asked for the manager and this fairly unfriendly lady told us "nope, no chance and no perks", either take the one bed room or call it a day. The room itself was okay, old and worn down but overall acceptable, especially for 32 $ per night. But this place, as well as the city of Laughlin overall has a very strange, awkward and intimidating feeling to it, so we were happy to check out, head to the Laughlin Pyramids (do it!) and get the hell out of this place.
