I am truly very upset with my experience at your casino this past weekend. A few of my friends and I decided to come down for the weekend, as I have only been there a time or two in the past. Friday was fine, Saturday not so much. Saturday we were gambling all afternoon, we had a few cocktails, were sitting by the bar listening to the band, I went to put my phone in my hotel room because it was dead, and upon my return , the man at the front gate wouldn’t let me in. He asked me how many beverages I had, I told him four, as that was the truth. I WAS SOBER! He proceeded to tell me that my eyes were red and that I was intoxicated so he wouldn’t let me back in. And then was calling security over to assist him. I actually thought he was kidding at first. I mean, my eyes are always red – I work 60-70 hours a week, and wear contacts. There are many reasons a person’s eyes may be red; allergies, smoke (as it IS a casino), contacts, dry, tired, etc. I then went upstairs so I could call my friends as they were still in the bar area. They met me at the OTHER entrance (yes, I know this was wrong but I was livid and I’m sorry, the man at the front gate should have called a manager as I requested). And then FOUR security guards surrounded our table and kicked me out AGAIN. I proceeded to ask them for a manager, someone above their heads to speak with, to no avail. So in all honesty I think you need to reassess your “guidelines” on letting someone enter your establishment. I don’t think that “red eyes” is a reason to deny entry. And if you are just going to kick people out for having a few beverages maybe you should re-think the bar. I mean I would have totally understood if I was belligerent, or slurring my words, or even falling over. However, I was none of those things, just enjoying girl’s night. It’s unfortunate that this happened because I can’t think of a reason that I would ever come back after the way that I was treated, and we have handed in our player’s cards. Not interested in giving establishment money only to be humiliated without a chance to defend myself or get a second opinion. And to make matters worse, I have heard 3 other stories from other people and friends that this has happened to them. I have seen a few reviews also. Word of mouth is a terrible thing. I will not hesitate to tell someone of my experience in hopes that it doesn’t happen to someone else. I just hope that someone there sees the error and fixes it before you lose any more business.

On a recent trip across Iowa we stopped at multiple casinos. This place really surprised me. The workers were very friendly, the selection of slots was alright (more on that shortly), and the food was outstanding. I cant say enough about both the Woodfire, which is an upscale restaurant, and the buffet. The Woodfire Grille served us some of the best food weve had in a very long time. Its a little expensive but its worth it. Very upscale and lots of care goes into providing the customer with a nice atmosphere and experience. The buffet was also great. Best one in all the casinos we stopped at in Iowa. All workers we spoke with were friendly, helpful, and enhanced the fun of our visit. Some places you walk into have grumpy people working from wall to wall. Diamond Jo employees seem to have been trained well and are a happy bunch. My two little complaints. During our visit the place was a warzone. They were tearing up carpet and because of that it got a little confusing on how to get from point a to point b in places. It also took some of our favorite slots offline. (We LOVE Tarzan and The Walking Dead.) The staff of Diamond Jo did a great job directing us around though. As we were leaving the first section of new carpeting did look amazing, so I cant really hold the mess against them. I will say, the selection of slot machines could have offered more for such a large casino. They had a big number of old games, and the new offerings were low. I expected a lot more from a casino of this size. Instead there are banks and banks of machines that are up to a decade old. The newer games all seemed to be the worst offerings, making it seem like they just go for the cheapest selection and dont care to go all out and make the casino floor an all around interesting and fun experience. All in all, great atmosphere, great food, great people! Newer slot machines would have made this a perfect visit. It will be a longer trip from where I live, but I will definitely be returning.

I Love the variety of different games, lots of penny slots, but limited high stakes variety.... I dont care for some ways the Casino operates, such as: - in obtaining a players card (kinda confusing) plus, the amount of points you accrue on your card dont seem to add up to much, it takes alot of points to be able to even pull off $5 dollars in cash back points - (The points will count as double the amount of cash back if used for food credit) - pretty cool. Management and security can be either very nice or very unnecessarily rude at times. Also, VIP card tier hosting and casino comps are seemingly non existent. I do have fun here for the most part. It is easy to find your party if you came with others. The place is pretty chill and laid back for the most part - Decent music is a always a plus and it is never overly crowded. The Buffet is awesome! I forgot to mention. This place is worth your stop and is operated by Boyds Gaming, which has a dozen or so sister casinos scattered down south and in vegas. Your "B Connected" players card will work at all of the locations under this operation / management. I recommend this place if you like simple smaller casinos. Happy Gaming!

We drove to go to your Buffet on Thursday , July 20,2017, your food has got to be the worst I have ever encountered, even your Chicken was cold, dry, all breading, when did you stop caring, not one decent desert, just a bunch of dry prefab, bought frozen crap, what a waste of good ingredients, on your line after line of no good food! Your pale stove top stuffing was soupy, your mashed potatoes were runny and bland, and the black gravy was to frightening to even try. No ham, why no ham, your pretend chefs with the long faces cant screw up Ham, or can they? For $17.11 per person, you should be arrested, the best part of the entire food experience was the glass of ice water we ordered. No, we wont eat there again, I read many reviews saying you care, go eat your Buffet yourself, and you tell me your favorite part!

Dec.17,2010 I took my wife Diamond Jon casino to celebrater our 8 yrs Anniversary she had two type of Id that where valid the security check it and lets us in, we ate at the Buffet that had great food and great service. When we try to go in they check her ID again and the security was one of the worst person we have met he made her feel demeanored with his ingnorance remark of my ID, she told him that it was a US valid ID even his supervisor was also stupid about it and didnt let me in. So we went to the main entry to talk to a different higher supervisor who did know the different ID and he said yes this is a valid ID but in that moment she just burst in tears of how demeaning she was treated and left. My wife first time being their was one of the worst experience I have ever had in my life.
