I read some of the online reviews posted since the new construction. At first, I was hesitant to stay at the Cherokee Casino in Roland over Christmas, but then I decided to do so... I was glad I did and enjoyed my stay so much so that I felt I needed to write a review. (If you dont have time to read the whole review, you might want to catch the last two paragraphs.) HOTEL: The hotel room smelled just like a brand new hotel would. It had a fridge, safe, coffee pot, seating in the walk-in shower, and spare electrical outlets above the end-tables and desk... Very nice. I am sure I am leaving many things out and not doing it justice. The only suggestion for improvement would be to have better lighting in the shower room. The way the lighting is currently casts a shadow on the face of the individual standing in front of the mirror. (No worries for the ladies though. There is a lighted circular mirror at the desk that is excellent for putting on makeup.) FRONT DESK: The front desk did have quite a bit of trouble checking me in, but it was due to the new software system. Both ladies were quite polite and attentive. SECURITY: The security personnel were also pleasant and professional. What is strange is that one of the reviews stated that the security personnel were suspicious and gave dirty looks. My experience was quite the opposite. Of course, as security, they regularly walked around the casino floor, but every officer I spoke with was quite pleasant. In fact, I spoke with one of the security officers, Dwight, for a bit, and he was quite entertaining. CASINO: I stayed two nights and played a bit. I was up one night, and down the next. I am not a large "better," but I do like to be able to sit at a machine and play for a bit. I was able to do that at this casino. The thing that I wanted to comment on the most is what happened after I left the casino and was on my way back home (needing to travel across three states). I stopped to fill up at the gas station there at the hotel and casino, and I noticed a nail in my tire. It was Christmas day, and I could not find anyone open. I talked to towing services, truck stops, Walmart, etc. On a whim, I called the front desk at this hotel. They found an individual who met me off of the 40 interstate to fix my tire. That is more than good service. That is absolutely SUPERB service. I will stay here again when I am in the area, and I would recommend this hotel and casino to all travelers in this area. Not only did they take care of me while I was there, but they also helped me after I left... Good people.

I was staying in nearby Muldrow and while traveling saw the casino from the highway. Went back to look for food and found an excellent buffet. I entered the casino and went straight back to the buffet to get some dinner as it was close to 9pm. Luckily the buffet was open till 10. I was surprised to find a wide selection of items on the buffet that all looked pretty good. After trying several items, there were a few I went back for more of. Some of the items were pretty good. A surprising item on the buffet was rootbeer floats in frost glass mugs. This was the first time I had ever seen this on a buffet. The dining area was very clean and comfortable. The service was excellent. My waitress came by several times checking on me, refilling drinks and then again to let me know when it was getting near closing time, so that I could go get another plate of food before they started shutting down. I did gamble a bit in the casino after eating dinner. There was a decent selection of slot machines, it wasnt over crowded and was easy to find an available machine. The food was really good and a bargain for $12. I would definitely eat here again when passing thru the area and maybe try my luck in the casino again.

I play at this casino regularly. When I took up their offer on a free room, I was told there would be a $50 hold on my card for the room deposit. After I checked out and was told I was good to go, imagine my surprise when I noticed all of my money missing from my account. I didnt know taking up their offer on a free room would result in them charging my card five times, stealing over $700 dollars in bogus charges from my card. It has been five days since I checked out and Ive made three calls to the hotel. Every time I called the front desk, I was told to call tomorrow because Matt, the manager, was off. At time of the post, theyve done exactly nothing to fix this. Do NOT stay at this place. Theyll STEAL your money and then be annoyed that you have an issue with that and give you a hard time finding someone to fix their "error". I know Im never coming back again and Ill be warning everyone I know.

The casino is nice & clean , however the payouts are nothing. The highest I won on a slot "bonus " Was $9.00! At least let people win a little bit of money so they can have some play time on the machines. I know casinos always have the house edge , however most casinos I gamble at, I will win a little something so that it extends my play time. I was even max betting and no luck here. Also, the variety of slot games is not enough to accommodate the amount of people on the floor and the 1-2 good slots they do have, people are on for a long time so good luck getting a chance to play. I did get $20.00 in free play for signing up for their players card . The casino is nice , just loosen the slots a little bit so people will stay in your casino longer. We were in and out in 30 minutes due to losing our cash fast .

I am disabled. I requested a wheelchair and was refused by both security and staff. They said it was a rule there not to let customers use wheelchairs even though I had been there before and used one without any problems. Most casinos hold your drivers licence until you return the wheelchair. I traveled from Mena to visit my son for my birthday and was very disappointed in customer service. This as my favorite place to go but it saddens me that they treat elderly disabled like this and get away with it. Would not let me post with no star.

I should have listened to the reviews about this casino. Being that I have never been here before. And the reviews from the past year are absolutely correct these machines and this casino do not pay out. I spent 200 dollars and walked out with nothing. Usually a casino will give you a chance to believe that you are winning but these however do not. And the rewards points you cannot use them until you reach 500 points. And I noticed one point equals 10 dollars of your money but only one cent for the casino when you use them.

Terrible place if traveling with kids. They will harass you constantly. I am a trucker and was showering. I left my 13 year old son in the drivers lounge since I am a female. When I came out the security guard approaches me stating kids cant be left alone. I told him I was across the hall showering and states, that my son has to come in with me or we couldnt come in. Legally he can stay home alone why cant he sit alone. Terrible customer service. It feels like a prison instead of a truck stop. So aggrevating.
