Connie is very nice. I like her. I am from Texas and so far everyone here is Iowa has been very nice and polite; however, I went to meet my husband (who is on a job right now in Iowa) in Chicago because neither of us had been before. It was alright, but we didnt get in until 5am, so I am tired. Stayed down the way at the Holiday Inn and it was excellent. Very clean and nice. However, check out time was 12. Front desk got me a cab here to the Wild Rose Casino. I have been here since 5 after 12 and they still do not have my room ready. Jenny has kind of had an attitude with me since she noticed the Chicago ball cap on my head. Well, dont judge a book by its cover. They have cleaned other peoples room, and one lady that got here after my only had to wait about an hour to check in. I know they cannot guarantee check-in until four, but I have never paid for a suite and politely asked if my room could be cleaned earlier and been treated this way. Jenny is having rooms cleaned for guests that arent here, and may not be here until well after 4pm. She is allowing other people to check-in and having their rooms cleaned, but seems to be set on making me wait until 4 because Im one of those city people in her mind. Well i had to wear a hat, because I am tired and need a room and my hair looks horrible. I just dont understand why she is being this way. Like I said...all I can figure is its the hat. So just be forewarned. Dont ask for any help from Jenny unless you arent wearing a hat that says you are from Chicago. Also, the place I have been sitting at, the only place they really have to catch a bite to eat is surprisingly very nice. It is called Coaches Corner sports bar. I had the cheesy vegetable soup, which was basically broccoli cheese soup with a few carrots in it. Not what I expected. I also had the fried pickles. They should consider slicing them rather than just cutting down the middle and frying them as long spears. The hotel is pretty nice, and fairly new, so hopefully my room will be as well. If I ever see it...I have been waiting now for 3 hours. Guess I will give another update after 4pm.

My wife and I had booked a room for a wedding and had just purchased a beer from the resort and threw it away before trying to enter the casino. After the young man Hunter asked for our IDs I was asked if I have been drinking I had told him yes, I just threw away a beer that I just purchased from them. we were guest at the hotel casino and just had left a wedding and now wanted to play. I was then told that I was not allowed in because I have been drinking and was to intoxicated to be allowed in. I had asked the young man why he assumed I was intoxicated. I asked him was I not walking normal or stumbling and his response was no,that my eyes looked a little glassy. After telling him that I wear contact and have dry eyes which I have to constantly put eye drops he still said no. I had asked what I can do to prove I was not intoxicated as he assumed. I asked if I can walk straight line or do any other sobriety test but he said no that they are not trained officers to do any testing. But yet because my eyes were a little glassy that was enough for him to refuse entry. We then ask to speak to the supervisor because as guest staying at the resort the one main reason we booked our stay was to gamble. The supervisor Charles came and didnt ask or look or did anything but just say no you cant come in. His response was we have the right to refuse entry to anyone. After asking if there was anyone else to whom we can speak to Charles said no he was the only one in charged. Myself weighing 180 lbs and after only drinking 6 Bud Lights within the period of 12 hours it is impossible to be intoxicated not to mention I had just finished eating at the a buffet. I will make sure to let everyone know of this experience. And on a side note another guest who was drunk and at the same wedding and came in just before me was allowed in.

Stayed for a week and I was not impressed. Hotel: 1. Beds were not that great. Not horrible but not super comfortable. 2. Blankets not that great. 3. Probably my biggest reason for knocking off 2 stars alone is the wifi. I never got it to work long enough to do anything. I couldnt even open my email with it on my phone. The wall hard connections did nothing when we went to Walmart to get the cables to connect. 4. Restaurant did not do room service. 5. Roofing work was being done during our stay so I guess that wont effect future stays. But it was annoying when we were trying to sleep during the day for night work. 6. Staff was nice and pleasant. 7. Lighting was poor. 8. No outlets accessible to charge phone without moving furniture. I know housekeeping must hate that. The restaurant coaches: I dont think I received my meal correctly any of the nights I ordered. I know the other person that was staying with me did not either. Overall: Staff was either short-handed or when they did have enough people there they just didnt seem to care. 1. I couldnt for the life of me get a drink order placed and when it ran out it was usually did not get refilled. 2. Just the simple task of getting silver ware was completed 1 out of 4 diners. 3. No room service. 4. The food was decent I will give them that. 5. The service overall was not on par for a restaurant in a casino/ hotel. Casino: I dont gamble much but it did seem nice. Im a smoker but I didnt notice a fog or smell of cigarette smoke like some other casinos I have been to. Tables were priced right. Nice and simple layout.

The hotel staff was very friendly. All staff everywhere were very nice and friendly. The bed is harder than a rock. Didnt sleep well. The internet is very slow. The buffet was quite different. We were there for steak night. You got a ticket to use to get 1 steak, which was plenty for me, but it was different. Its a very small buffet and no cheesecake for dessert which I was disappointed.the breakfast buffet wasnt bad. They made omelet so made to order which was good and had the usual bacon, sausage,French toast etc. but still very small buffet.gambling was horrible. Didnt win not even a penny. And the sign says when you walk in the casino 90% payback, I think not. The slot machines are mixed with old and new and dont pay out very well whether itd be pennies to dollars, and I tried them all.

Very small casino. Stayed two nights and the rooms were nice and the staff was friendly. You can smoke in the casino but not in the rooms. The buffet was bland Sysco industrial/hosptial style and the bar food wasnt much better. They have some rule about one drink per hour and they time you. Never seen that before. The table games dont open untill 11am and they only have one roulette table but the minimum bets are small. They only have two $5 machines in the whole place so its not set up for high rollers. They did have some newer games and alot of classic ones. All in all a nice little casino/hotel.
