My favorite place to hang out, period. I love seeing movies there; you get the classic feel of clean retro movie houses, but with digital HD projection and sound. They do a great job juggling the present blockbusters and Oscars noms with retro classics (stuff like Goonies, Princess Bride, etc), and do lots of fun events and double features. They once had a jackolantern carving contest while guests watched Night of the Living Dead around Halloween, and they gave away a New Belgium Brewing Co. bicycle to the winner! Other cool events were the pizza party when showing Ninja Turtles 1&2 together, and for X-Men: Days of Future Past, they had a costume contest and mini pop-up comic shop in the lobby. But aside from the movies, the bar is so awesome. BEST beer selection in KC. No lie. If you love craft beer and trying new brews from around the region, get in here. Food is pretty great too. Arcade games in the lobby are a fun touch, along with the local movie-themed art. Ive been a loyal customer of Screenland Armour for years, but the way its been growing and gaining popularity for the past couple of years makes me so happy. The Northlands best place to be.

I purchased several passes almost a year ago because they were running a special and it seemed like a good deal. However, they failed to mention that passes are not valid for 90% of the screenings they show. The website says "passes not accepted for opening week, special engagements, or when otherwise noted". Unfortunately, that covers just about every single showing that they offer. Sure, there is an OCCASIONAL movie that takes passes, but they are so few and far between, I have not been fortunate enough to make it to any of those show times with my busy schedule. Even this weekend, they are showing a movie that opened well over a week ago, but they have conveniently noted "no passes accepted" on the website. What a shock! This situation is really a shame because this theater seems like a really cool place based on all the other reviews. I just dont feel right paying more money to see a movie when I was already conned into buying passes that are practically worthless. I feel like I have been deceived and ripped off. If I ever make it to a movie where they will admit me with my passes, I will update my rating.

I have never been to this theater before, but found out they were having a free screening of the Doctor Who premier. Upon entry, I was greeted by smiles by everyone except the one that was busy making popcorn (not a complaint). They even had themed Doctor Who drink specials. And they do NOT water down their drinks like other establishments does. I love the old arcades in their lobby/eating area. The theaters are small, but the seats are very comfortable. So comfortable, that after having my drink, I almost fell asleep during one of the commercial breaks (again, not a complaint). The Doctor Who screening had a good turn out. Not sure how their business is with regular movie screenings, but I hope they do well. I am not a regular movie watcher in theaters, but when something is released that I want to see, I will definitely come back again. Maybe see you guys when The Last Jedi is in theaters.

My girlfriend and I went to the Armour last night and I cant say that Ive ever seen anything like it before. First of all the theater has a FULL BAR and fantastic food - and Im not just talking pop corn and candy - they have chicken quesadillas and pita bread served with hummus on the menu. How cool is that? The screen quality and the sound quality was incredible and the chairs were really comfortable as well. What I loved most of all though was the artwork that decorated the establishment. This place really has a fantastic vibe and the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home too. When our cab didnt show one of the employees came outside to ask if she could help and gave us the business card of a driver whom she was friends with. Screenland Armour is truly one of a kind.

Very bad experience.. I have never been to this movie theater before, being new to the Northland my daughter and I wanted to go see the Logan movie.. We were denied seeing the movie due to my daughter age. I was told by the women that was sitting eating at the counter, that its against the law for me to take my 8 year old daughter to see a rated R movie this late in the evening. I told the women its only 7pm. And Im her mother. This theater did Not have many people in it.. No more than 5 people.. 1@ behind the register,1@the counter eating, and 3 people @ the rectangle table. I was told they only have two screens? So Im very confused about this place???? Really no stars.. I will never return back to this theater again. Ill be sure tell all...

Ok... this place was pretty hip and Im not sure they even know they are pulling this off. You go for the movie and end up hanging for the atmosphere and the drinks. Plenty of bottled varieties to choose from and they had all the blockbusters that were out at the time. The seats in the front row are leather lazy boys and pretty comfy. The adjacent meeting space was hosting Drink and Dabble painting and there were obviously people there who werent even interested in catching a movie since the conversation was lively enough around the bar on a weeknight. Super relaxed business flow and very small town and old school charm with the traditional cinema complex with lit Now Playing sign. @ArmourTheatre #nailedit

Great place for watching movies. The small theater feel was great. There is just something more fun about watching a funny movie with 15 people instead of 200. You can hear each others laugh and gasps and reactions. It was just the right crowd size that it made fun like you are hanging out at a friends basement but not so small that the one guy with the annoying laugh drove you nuts the who movie. Oh, they also have good food and drinks there. The Kevin Bacon grilled cheese is where its at.

If you want to order anything other than craft beer, you wont get it. Its a "serve what we drink not a serve what the customer drinks" kind of place. If you want to play games while youre waiting for the drinks they dont have, well, good luck with that too. Need quarters to play the games that do work? Sorry Charlie. I recommend taking your business somewhere who can offer the customer a positive experience. This review doesnt come from one experience either. This is just the way they do it here.

This is the kind of place Tarantino would have frequented had he been in KC. The vibe is unparalleled! See a solid flick or have a great time hanging with friends. Regularly voted the Best Theater in KC. They have a KILLER craft beer selection, retro arcade machines and some kick-ass food. Its a limited menu, but with sandwiches like the Kevin Bacon (tons of crispy bacon, cheese & garlic aioli on grilled sourdough) you dont need much else! Oh and the popcorn is the best in KC hands down.
